You are very welcome - she (the Fantasy) delayed our lunch by about 3 hours, but who cares when you have the chance of getting the first glimpse of a new Disney ship?

Actually she did not introduce him properly, but from what he said he must be someone from DCL who seems to have been involved with planning and building.
The interview itself was pretty boring as she kept repeating herself and called it the "Mickey Mouse boat" several times
Most of the questions were just facts known to us all - how long, does Mickey travel on it, do they have a theme park on there (yeah, sure, Missy), what can you do, does he think HE will go on a cruise on it .... you get the message. She was ill prepared all along.

I really loved seeing her float out, such a beautiful ship and they really waited until the rain stopped. Cannot wait until 2013 to "meet her" in person!

Thank for the pictures of the Fantasy. I forgot all about the float out this morning. I really wanted to see it but it was past my bedtime.

After our amazing time on the Dream, I have decided that we will be trying the Fantasy in 2014. I am hoping they will have the Fantasy going to the Eastern Caribbean for Caitlin's Feb vacation 2014, if not it will have to wait until summer.

Wonderful, wonderful pixie dust! And you guys deserve it. You are always spreading the joy to all the cast members via treats and smiles and other awesome thank yous (i.e., donuts, tips, etc). I am looking forward to reading about your next trip!

Thanks Karin for the Fantasy float out pictures. I am so happy to see it, can't believe we have to wait till next year to see her in person! The Dream brought tears to my eyes the first time seeing her, and lots of oohs and aahs on our bus coming into port! I am sure it will be the same for the Fantasy.

I watched a youtube video a little bit ago...just amazing...and when the horn plays...i get chills!!!

I would love to go see her, but we are an hour train ride from NYC and I would have to get there very, very early and in the middle of winter, I'm not too sure about that. Hopefully they have something on TV when she comes here.

We just fell in love with Jeff and his family! Jeff and Lily are the sweetest people and their kids are so sweet and well behaved! Unbelievable!
I wish we would live closer to you all so we could get together once in a while - unfortunately flights across the pond are not that cheap!
But NYC is on our list of places to revisit soon - so we will definitely contact you to get together soon.

I do hope you visit NYC in the future so we can plan a visit with you. What we can plan is getting together when we are in Disney in August. I know August is a way off, but it's something to think about. We would love to see you & Tom.

That's so cool! Do you think that any of the folks who've gotten upgraded from the POR royal rooms is dissapointed? Nah...probably not.

Actually Tina, now that I know that there are several threads about the upgrades, you would not believe it, but there are several people who keep moaning that they have been looking forward and promising their kids and now they HAVE TO stay at soandso resort!
I was floored! While I would have loved to see the Royal Rooms first hand, staying at the Poly gives us a chance to hop into the MK on our first night! Cannot ask for more, can you?

That's what we thought too, Poly for the price of POR (and that with an AP discount ) - pretty good deal!

You are welcome to the Fantasy float out pictures - it was around lunchtime here, so it was easy to sit and watch - delayed our lunch by about three hours, but it was beautiful to watch, so very worth it.

I really hope you get your cruise with Caitlin in 2014 - you are not planning on going during president's week, are you? We might run into each other if you are.

I think we "might" drive over to Port Canaveral while we are at WDW this summer to see her in person, but I cannot wait to get on board, especially since the four of us will explore her together!

I watched some of those videos as well - gives me goosebumps! And I DO know what you mean about the horn - makes me teary eyed every time!

I am glad you enjoyed the photos and I hope that you get to sail on her real soon! What about summer 2013?
I knew she would be in NYC at the beginning of March but thanks to Jen we know even better now.
I have heard rumours that they might do the Christening in NYC, to boost attention to the fact that DCL will sail out of NY this summer. Only time will tell!

I would really love to go back to NYC. When we went for the first time (my first, Tom's third ) we went in February and it was FREEZING cold! I never wear a hood, or scarf or gloves - but bought all that because we were so cold. But the city was BEAUTIFUL - that was before 9/11 and we went up to the observation deck and you DID feel on top of the world.
We really need to go back - makes me homesick just thinking about it.

Planning our February trip!!!!!

Day 6, Thursday, February 23 - Part 1

Time to get off the DREAM

Today we need to get up early.

Our dining assignment will be for 8am and we will have to be out of our stateroom by then.

After breakfast we will have to pick up our luggage and after clearning customs again we will head to the parking lot and load everything back into our rental car. Finally set we will be on our way to Walt Disney World.

The drive to WDW takes about an hour so I guess we should be arriving there around 11am

and then it will be time for our first real "Welcome Home" when we check into the Bay Lake Tower

as Vacation Club Members

for the first time. I doubt that our room will be ready by then so we will drop our luggage off with bell services and catch a boat to Fort Wilderness for lunch.

We have a reservation at Trails End, as I wanted to try their new lunch menu for quite some time.

Once lunch is done we will head back to Bay Lake Tower and if our room still is not ready we will head straight over to the Magic Kingdom.

In the late afternoon we will head back to Bay Lake Tower to check out the resort some more.

In the evening we will head up to the Top of the World lounge

for some snacks

and maybe a view of the fireworks.
If we feel like it we can always go back to the MK after the fireworks for a little while until it closes at 11pm and then it will be time for us to go to bed.

Ooooh...the Top of the World lounge. You'll have to tell me all about it. Sounds great!

We love going to the Top of the World Lounge. It is so pretty up there. And we love to get a bottle of wine and order some flatbreads. What a great way to end the day. And it is fun to watch the fireworks from up there. It gives you a totally different perspective. Enjoy!

Oh, and if you like scallops, my DH says that the best he has had are in the bar at the Wave. He gets them there about every trip we are down there.
