Hi all, I stayed at The Fountains from December 12 to December 15, 2011.

In researching this resort I did no find much on Disboards, so I hope my post helps someone!

I rented my 3 night stay on ebay from seller redweeks4less for $159 and had no issues with the transaction and no major issues with my stay.

Here is the company's website: http://www.bluegreencorp.com/explore/resortDetail.aspx?ResortID=14

Here are reviews on Tripadvisor: http://www.tripadvisor.ca/Hotel_Review-g34515-d530682-Reviews-Bluegreen_Fountains_Resort-Orlando_Florida.html

This unit is in building 10 and was called "2 Bedroom Superior" on my confirmation sheet.

Without further ado, here are the photos!

This was room 10303 (obviously!). When getting towels at the pool, you exchange these cards for the towels and get the cards back when returning the towel.
You must return these cards upon checkout or you will be charged accordingly.

Thanks for sharing your photos at the Fountains! What did you end up doing for transportation to the parks? We are considering staying here later this year.

TIA!

I rented a car, which I consider is a must if staying offsite (even onsite I prefer a car).

If you rent through Alamo and join the Alamo Insiders club, I have almost always gotten a rate under $100 for a week.

The Transportation forum also has lots of car rental tips.

How many people will be in your party?

Just stayed a couple nights there and our room didnt look like that. Maybe there are different styles or updates? Ours was still nice enough though

What building were you in?
I was in building 10. I believe it is the newest building and I know there are older buildings with older furnishings.

I also heard that some older buildings have been renovated and look even nicer than Building 10, however some older buildings are still no updated.

Do you have any photos to post of your room? Would love to see it.

My friends are contemplating staying here in October so i need to show them your pictures as they've only seen the one's on Trip Adviser. :thumbsup2

All of the buildings will be completely renovated eventually, only so many have been so far but the new design & decor won't be exactly the same in every condo, it will depend on what type of condo you're staying in (like the OP's was a "Superior"). I've seen pictures of condo's with walnut coloured kitchen cupboards, grey granite worktops, beach colour laminate flooring etc & i think them condo's are in the older 2 buildings like the OP also said.

But anyways, OP, what did you think of the Resort in general? Do you know what time the pools close?

:)

Hi there, I would stay here again and I would recommend it to your friends.

The photos you're talking about seem to be the resort's promotional photos. I was hoping to have decor like that in my room and did not, but still was not disappointed.

I found the 2 BR here to be very large, and seemed larger than Bonnet Creek.

I'm sorry that I don't know what time the pool closes. The phone number for the resort is 407-905-4100 so you could call them and ask.

A few notes about the pools though.

There are 2 pools:

1. Wakoola Springs
This is the very very large resort pool complex with waterslides, kids splash area and 2 hottubs.

This is NOT HEATED, which I think is very important.

When I was there in mid-Dec the outside temp was about 77, and this pool was freezing. There was nobody at this pool (mind you the resort seemed pretty empty) and the adjacent Wakoola Grill was closed.

One of the 2 hottubs was out of service. I did enjoy the 1 hottub that was in service here, since I had the whole area to myself.

2. Water's Edge pool.

This pool is partially indoors, and partially outdoors and is "seasonal heated", whatever that means. When I was there, it was heated and there were a few people and kinds in it.
In the indoor part, there is a bar and pool tables.
In the outdoor part, there is one hot tub, giant chess etc.
They have an activities schedule and in Dec, all activities were at the Water's Edge pool.

A note about Internet Access at this resort.

Internet is wireless, and they have a 4.95 per day charge.

I purchased a daily access to the internet from my laptop one morning, and later that day, from my iphone. I encountered a technical problem whereby my iphone would not log out of the login that I had purchased.

After calling the front desk, the put me through to the IT department who informed me that Apple products had this issue where they would not log out of the resort logins that guests purchased. He informed me that per the resort's rules, I would have to purchase a 2nd login if I wished to use 2 devices for an additional 4.95 per day. No thanks!!

I called the front desk back and they gave me a free, multiuser login that I guess they give out to guests with problems. I did not even ask for this, what great service.

Upon checkout, there was one 4.95 internet charge on my bill, plus a 0.58 telephone charge for calling the IT department. Upon my gentle reminder of my issue, they zeroed out the balance.

Again, great customer service from the front desk. :wizard:

If anyone has any other questions, or if anyone wants me to post a photo of the activity guide or welcome info, just let me know!!

I think we were in building 5. We only stayed a couple nights so I didnt take any pictures. Also I wasnt charged to use any wifi and we did hook up on the laptop

looks nice, we had a week booked there through a time share and they ended up cancelling it right before we were supposed to get there, it was no longer available. we were so upset because it looks nice. is this still available on ebay? i did a search and didnt see anything, not sure im looking in the right spot or not

Thankyou so much for making time to write all that for me! Really appreciate it. :) I'll send my friends a link to this thread.

Yes, they are their promotional photo's but also pictures of so many of their renovated rooms.

The main pool isn't heated? That's a bit odd.. i wonder if it'll be too cold in October? I know my friend really feels the cold.

Internet access always seems to be a pain these days - never seems to be straightforward. :sad2: Unless it becomes free.

:tink:

We are staying here next week! Thanks for sharing the photos.
We have a couple questions about the place...
Was there an adequate supply of kitchen towels, dishcloths, potholders, etc?
Is there paper towels, toilet paper, laundry soap provided?
Was there a balcony or patio off your room?

Thanks!

Yes, Yes and Yes!
The balcony was lovely and had a table and 4 chairs. It is screened in.

Thank you! One more thing....
How long did it take you to drive to animal kingdom from there?
How long to magic kingdom parking lot?

Sorry I don't remember but it has to be around 15-20mins maybe....I'll suggest that you do a googlemaps search instead of relying on my weary memory :thumbsup2
