"There’s NO Sleeping in Disney!” SURPRISE - The Frumps Are Back Again! UPDATE 1/13

OMG I hear ya with the italien waiters at Via Napoli. It's a small spoiler for my trip report but we went there for first time for our Candlelight processional package and had a dude called Andrea from Verona (not your water boy) and he was HOT! I would totally go there again just for the scenary! :rotfl:

My twitter name has my last name on it so I don't want to post it on here for obvious reasons so if you want I could either PM you or I was talking to Kristin before so I should just be on her timeline under a conversation with Victoria.

Anywho, great update! :thumbsup2

Feel free to PM it to me! I'll follow you!
Thank you!

WOOT Haunted Mansion! Sorry you didn't get to go on the Aladdin Magic Carpets, but we all know the humble abode of the 999 Happy Haunts. That must've been interesting though being stopped by the opera singer lol

Mmmmm... CHH looks really good! I'm a huge fan of chicken fingers for some odd reason. It isn't a gourmet thing, but they are always enjoyable, the reason why I LOVE Golden Oak Outpost (you need to check that place out too, it's in MK) Though I think you may be right about the Apple Crisp... a bit strange looking but you seemed to think it was tasty :thumbsup2 And that's awesome you ate on the second floor, that CS is just that much better when people talk about its second floor, though I guess Casey's will go first (bad experience at Pecos Bill's :P)

I used to ALWAYS get chicken fingers! For some reason I don't anymore, but I agree they are good. I have never gone to Golden Oak Outpost! I'll have to find it - I have no idea where it is. And yeah the apple crisp was okay. I don't know.

Sorry to hear you couldn't get Sue on Splash. LOL @ the only way you could get her on, imagine if you ended up buying that for her, I would love to see how she liked Splash. I can't believe how Disney didn't go in to fix all the kinks. Frumpiest ride in the wilderness... so very very true... As always, great ride photo!

Hahaha she would have hated it I can almost guarantee. But thanks!

Ooooo... Peter Pan! That baby must've been adorable, but so distracting. If only I went to Disney that young... *sigh* And you must've been really tired to have fallen asleep during Kristen's... uhhh... I mean... Mickey's PhilharMagic. Well, maybe while you were asleep it became Kristen's FrumpharMagic lol :thumbsup2 to the Dapper Dans, after seeing your video from the Bathrobe Princess report, I've really wanted to see them, they sound so good and seem quite entertaining

Well you'll just have to take your future kids there when they're that little! No disney deprivation for them! Umm YEAH i was really tired at this point haha. You HAVE to see them, you'd love the dapper dans.

Glad to see you got back to the hotel room, but what is this I heard? SLEEPING! Don't tell me this was Kristen too. This is blasphemous! I'm just... stunned. I'm not going to let any of you live this down, ANY OF YOU! ... Okay maybe I'm overreacting, but still not. Okay. At least it was only for 1 hour and a half. :thumbsup2 to Kristen's pins, I may have to trade you for that Nana pin :-)love: Nana)

Yes, we all slept. I know, we're nuts.

How did I not see this coming? Via Napoli... again... At this point, I'm pretty sure you just don't make those ADRs for food but just to get a taste of eye candy. Even though some of that food does look good. LOVE Pistachio Ice Cream :goodvibes Mmmm... And the meat-a-balls too YUM! LOL @ the waiter giving you your number. These foreign guys were really hitting on you and David truly was hitting on you. If you watch the video, the guy next to him is talking to him and he is just staring at you lol So French and Italian boys like you haha Or one's named Marco and David (aka Francois) And good in Italian is more like 'Buen' I don't know what very is though. The only phrases I know in Italian are scornful ones from my grandfather and great aunt, so that's the extent of my Italian knowledge :confused3 Anyways... glad you enjoyed Via Napoli again! :teeth:

hehehe you might be onto something there ;) But I mean, the food is FANTASTIC. It's just such a great combination of food and waiters, how could I not go?! Yeah I don't know WHAT was going on with me that trip. That never happens.

I think Kringla Olga is more like the happiest place on Earth within the Most Magical Place on Earth lol Or the Place where Dreams Come True inside the place where dreams come true haha I'M ON A ROLL! ... I really need to test out my deer face one of these days just because I see it all the time. :-)

Wow... just wow! Apparently the world is hitting on Jess! So we have France, Italy and Mexico... where does it end?! lol But you couldn't help but be flattered, could you? Prince Charming is on its way, Jess, I assure you (well based on this haha) But bad girl for breaking the rules... "No dancing on the ride..." :sad2: You rebellious children lol Love the picture of you guys with the pinata Donald Duck and your sombreros! Y'all are so photogenic, seriously.

Oh my gosh yeah I was so flattered. :goodvibes I love Disney boys. And God, I sure hope so.And LOL we are rebellious frumps. And thank you!

Can't wait to read about where you go next! :mickeyjum

P.S. I'm sorry I'm leaving you uber long comments, I'm in an extremely wordy mood and I'm already a wordy person so... oh there I go again... I'll just stop now lol

No problem!

Well, if either of you ever want to follow me, mine's @KIPKnighted. My avatar and my page background are actually full of Disney pictures I've taken, so it's a nice sight for sore eyes :goodvibes

I followed you!

Yup, it's a bit different and it wasn't of me, it was of a friend (but I do rock the TSM 3D glasses), but same idea. Look and you'll know what I mean:

158.jpg

And check out the creepy woman in the background *shivers* I'm sure she is out to get us. :scared:

Oh and here's me totally owning the 3D Glasses look-

159-1.jpg

It was actually my Facebook profile pic (Look it's the lady again! AAAAHHH!!)

Hahaha awesome pictures. Those TSM glasses are just the best.

I've never not been stopped on the Haunted Mansion. It's a running joke in our family at this point.

Yeah it's a very rare occurrence for me to actually get through the entire ride without a stop!

I love that you guys pose on Splash Mountain. I just cry.

NO CRYING IN DISNEY! hahaha ;)

Aw, I don't blame you for taking a nap. I need at least an hour of quiet, air-conditioned nap time each day to survive the summer heat. I would be a crabby mess without it.

Kristen won't let me!!! :rotfl: Or else I would do the same thing.

I can't wait to try Via Napoli! It's one of my family's 3 Must-Dines for July along with 'Ohana (DUH) and Sci-Fi.

THREE OF MY FAVORITES. Sci Fi like is one of my top favorites now I just love it so much!!

HAHAHAHAHAHA Oh, Marco. You should have written 'Polo' with a fake number and sent it back to him.

:rotfl2: This is why you need to come with me to Disney because I am not nearly as half as brilliant as you. SUCH A GOOD IDEA. That would have been the most hilarious thing ever!!!

Good thing you got those Maelstrom Fastpasses. I bet the ride was SWAMPED. :rotfl:

I know really! But I mean, how can people resist?! It's in freakin' NORVAY. The line basically wraps around the entire world, ya know?!

OMG I hear ya with the italien waiters at Via Napoli. Hahaha ahhh lucky  And so would I. Actually... I basically go every time. You just can't beat that place!!

The only downside to Golden Oak Outpost (by Splash Mt.) is that they don't take the Dining plan, which I think is weird...

My dd (who is 8 now) and I just finished watching your ideas and reading your TR. we both LOVED it!:lovestruc

In fact, we were able to see some of the places that we want to eat during our next trip. Too bad she doesn't know that it is this summer. SURPRISE!!!:yay:

You all looked like you had a blast and that it what Disney is all about!

Aww that's so awesome! Thank you (and her!) for reading! I'm so glad you've enjoyed it! Only a few updates to go!

And YAY for inspiring food choices! I always love hearing that! And AHHH that's gonna be amazing! Have so much fun! :wizard:

We definitely did! We love our Disney!

Thanks for the very entertaining play by play of your Disney trips. We are headed to WDW in March and after reading your posts, I'm more excited than ever!

I have one question for you---you have some amazing night time pictures from the parades and fireworks. What camera do you use? Lately my nighttime pictures have been really dark...

Can't wait for your updates!--

Todd

Great update! I'm not a nap person but I understand that you needed to rest. You have been going, going, going! I guess it's okay then...lol. And, you didn't really care for CHH? I like it there...ya the food is okay but I love the atmosphere. It's nice to "get-away" to the upstairs part and look out the window. Quiet and not too crazy up there! :)

You're very welcome :) Thank you for being here! I'm glad you enjoyed them and are excited for your trip!! :wizard: That's the goal!
I have a Nikon D3100 which is a DSLR. And I also use iPhoto to fix up any flaws. My point and shoot cameras always took TERRIBLE nighttime pictures so I totally know how you feel!
Thanks for being here!

Haha I think at that point anyone could have taken a nap. :rotfl: We were SO exhausted. And no I didn't. But you know, it was okay. Maybe I'm just spoiled by my table services now. My eyes have been opened to the amazing amount of Disney food out there, and eating chicken nuggets doesn't satisfy me like it used to  But I completely agree - the atmosphere is great! I didn't mind ducking in there to have a quick lunch and get into the air conditioning for a while!

Chapter 31: "Duffy's My Friend. He's a Disney Bear!"
August 23rd, 2011

I must warn you... this is probably one of the most frumpy updates known to man. Be prepared. Let us call it a "frump-date." (thank you, Lia, for your brilliance once again.)

So next we were going to use our Maelstrom Fastpasses!!

Ha. Ha. Not joking.

But we still had a few minutes before they were ready.

So the logical thing to do, of course, would be to go to China. (Because why wouldn't you?! It's not every day that Norway and China are within steps of eachother!)

We arrived at the gift shop in China and discovered something that is about as frumpy as us.

PUPPETS!

dsc00312kv.jpg

Oh yes, ladies and gentlemen. We found PUPPETS. They were awesome. They were funny. They were everything you would ever want from a Chinese gift shop.

So they became our friends. And since we are all 5 years old, we made them talk. And it was just EXTREMELY entertaining.

Then the best thing in the world happened.

We look over at the ANIMAL puppets.

And wait for it....

.....

....

...

..

.

THERE WAS A DEER PUPPET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dsc1021p.jpg

I am NOT even kidding you, that was probably the most fantastic discovery of our lives. Kristen fell in love. She named him Norman.

Norman was our friend and became friends with all of the other puppets.

You can just picture our frumpiness right now can't you?

LOL good thing it was captured in the video.

Sadly, it started sprinkling. So the Chinese ladies came and brought the puppets back inside.

SADNESS.

But we got over it and went inside the other gift shop... where I saw the kidcot fun stop.

I WANTED. TO COLOR. A DUFFY.

So we did! Each of us colored one, and we really had WAY too much fun with that. But that was to be expected, am I right?

dsc1024o.jpg

Since Sarah already had a Duffy, her, Sue, and Scott went to go get him stamped in other countries while we finished up our masterpieces.

We got ours stamped in China, and the CM also wrote our names in Chinese on the back! And we got a stamp for the year of our birthdays!

Mine is rooster, Nat's is the dog, and Kristen's is.... the pig. LOL, not joking.

THE YEAR OF THE PIG!

I loved my Duffy. I wanted to color him very nicely so he was all outlined and fancy. Nat made an Italian Duffy with Red, White, and Green colors. And Kristen made a Classic Duffy. However, some marker got smudged on his face so she called him "Duffy the Orphan" just like the character she played in Annie. CLEVER!

duffyw.jpg

dsc1034bw.jpg

Once we finished up expressing our extremely artistic talents, we went outside to scope out a spot for IllumiNations!

There was a great little corner next to the tea shop in China. We snatched that spot right up! The only thing was that there was a tree sort of in the way, but it didn't completely obstruct our view. I guess that's what we get for finding a spot at the last minute.

We were SO deliriously tired, and Kristen's voice was just gone. It was funny because it was so low. So of course, being the Muppet fanatic that she is, she started quoting Sweetums.

"BE-AN!!! BUNNY!! DOES ANYONE SEE A BUNNY!? A BUNNY!?!"

dsc1039z.jpg

Muppet.

And yes, we still quote that to this day if anyone loses their voice.

Also, have you all ever noticed how fantastic the IllumiNations Preshow music is?! Well, our Duffys sure did. They were dancing like the country bear jamboree on a sugar rush!

There was high five Duffy:

dsc1037q.jpg

And fist pump Duffy!

dsc1043x.jpg

Celebrate America.

As my mother would say, we were getting a little "punchy." LOL

We watched IllumiNations, which was beautiful, of course. Sorry for the lack of pictures, but it would have put me over the limit and I figured that our frumpy lives would be more entertaining.

After the show, we met back up with Sue, Scott, and Sarah. They were in Morocco or something and didn't make it back to us in time.

We all headed to Kringla Og Kafe! And you know what that means.........

dsc1051k.jpg

SCHOOL BREAD! Which was consumed by Me, Nat, Sue, and of course, Kristen.

Sarah got a Cream Puff:

dsc1054x.jpg

The School Bread Queen (aka Kristen, year of the pig, little miss frump) was EXTREMELY tired. Can you just imagine the combination of deliriousness + school bread + disney? Like... it was pretty much pure insanity. She was just going crazy. Deer face times a million.

First Bite:

dsc1053d.jpg

EXTREME Deer Face:

dsc1052s.jpg

Double Fisting:

dsc1055g.jpg

Year of the Pig. "It's like Pumbaa from the Lion King!"

dsc00321ww.jpg

She ate that schoolbread like a mad woman and was overjoyed to be in it's presence.

dsc00323dtb.jpg

Nat and I really liked our school bread, as well. We split one because we were so full from dinner still. But how could you resist school bread, really? The filling was really yummy!

After our episode of frumpy school bread consumption, we headed to another frumpy destination known as THE MAELSTROM!

Sometimes referred to as the most popular ride in America.

WHAT A RIDE!

Surprisingly, we did NOT need our fastpasses! The wait was only 10 MINUTES!! ARE YOU SHOCKED OUT OF YOUR MIND!?!?!

I knew it.

The frumpiness continued, and we made our way through the line to beautiful NORVAY. The entire time Kristen felt like quoting Michelle Tanner from Full House.

"I'M GOING FOR A WALK! IT'S NO BIG DEAL!"

If you are forgetting this very important moment of Full House history, you may want to take a look at this clip so you can jog your memory. This way you can get the full effect of the sentence in your mind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLvHLt12idg

Precious, right?

Oh yeah. After about time #453,984,752 I'm sure everyone just wanted to pinch our cheeks and call us "puddin'." ESPECIALLY when Kristen put it to the tune of the elephant march from the Jungle Book.

"I'm goin' for a walk... it's no-o big deal... do do do, do-do, do do do, do-do, do do, do, do, do, do, do..."

Duffy liked to sing and dance and walk along too, as you could probably imagine.

WOOO after that thrill of a lifetime we exited the ride and raced to see NORVAY'S INSPIRATIONAL FILM!!!

dsc1057e.jpg

Oh wait. The Spirit of Norway was NOT BEING SHOWN.

dsc1056a.jpg

Darn.

We weren't going to see it anyway. I was just foolin' with you.

We made our way out of the Norway gift shop and Kristen has to do a retake picture with Tiana's dress. We didn't like her in January, but now we do!

tianaz.jpg

We also found some POLAR BEARS! They can be Duffy's Norwegian friends.

dsc1059w.jpg

And THOR. (I still don't understand why we took this picture.)

dsc1058n.jpg

We walked out of the gift shop and went back to Future World. We walked all the way up to the bathrooms near Spaceship Earth on the ride. Then Nat and I backtracked to Guest Relations to get our boarding passes printed. :'(

We had a CM from Tokyo help us, and she saw our beloved Duffys. She asked us if we knew the story of Duffy, and we said no. She explained it to us!

Mickey was going on a voyage (I don't really know where he was going...) and Minnie was going to miss him SO very much. (because they are in love, after all!) So she made him a little bear to remind Mickey of her! Then, Mickey was so touched that he made Minnie a bear too! And that bear is Duffy's girlfriend. However, she is exclusive to Tokyo Disney. Duffy is a HUGE thing in Japan. Everybody loves him.

dsc1066j.jpg

I know there are some Duffy haters out there, but I think he's pretty harmless and cute. I secretly want one. Maybe next time.

After that little story and getting our boarding passes, we thanked the CM and went on Spaceship Earth!

dsc1067t.jpg

I went on with Nat and we were the snorklers in our quiz!

We got off that ride and then split up. Sarah felt brave enough to go on the orange side of Mission: SPACE. So me, Scott, and her went on that. Kristen, Nat, and Sue weren't up for it, so they sat around the fountain (waiting for the show that never happened) and went on Figment!

The Space Travelers (aka my group) went over to the ride. Sarah was being really brave - it was her first time on this Orange Side so this was a big moment.

The line said 40 minutes but it only ended up being around 20.

That ride is somethin'!! I'm not gonna lie... for some reason I was kind of nervous to go on it that night. I was fine once it started, but the hype is intense.

I literally could feel my face being pushed back. The most intense part of the entire thing is the take off. The G-Forces are SO strong. I was pushing my feet on the ground and my legs were shaking. We all survived and had a blast... but WOO that ride is crazy. I've only been on it twice in my life haha

Sarah loved it and thought it was really cool! I was so glad it didn't scar her for life or anything. I was so proud.

We left the ride and went to the bus stop. The bus was there YAY!! Coronado busses are SO hit or miss, let me tell you.

The other three were meeting up with us so we told the bus driver to wait like a minute for them. He did, thankfully.

We drove back and had to soak our feet AGAIN.

dsc1072a.jpg

They were dying. The dogs were barking. Woof woof. OW.

dsc1071g.jpg

We watched some Stacey and fell asleep very quickly. Tomorrow was Nat and my last morning before we had to go home. </3

Continued in Next Post

You all are too cute! this was definitely the frumpiest update in a while--in the best way possible.

I just want it to go on record: Kristen makes the best faces of all time.

Ahhhh another multi-frumpdate all rolled into one post! I haven't had a chance to watch the videos just yet, but you seriously cannot even begin to imagine how excited I am to play them. You know the feeling you get when you arrive to your room at Disney and are about to turn on Stacey for the first time? It's like THAT.

Everything about this post just epitomizes why you girls are my favorite people on the DIS and why I am totally addicted to your TRs and tweets. And now I have that song from the Aristocats stuck in my head - you know the one - Everybody wants to be a frump. Because a frump's the only frump who knows where it's...ump? Okay, so maybe that doesn't work quite so well, but you know where I'm trying to go with this, haha.

Alright I need to go watch this video rightnow.

Only you girls would find a Deer puppet!:rotfl2:

Kadence loves your Duffys, she had to go get her's to look at all the different stamps and writing on it!:cutie:

Did the soaking of your feet help? I just remember my feet burning so bad after MNSSHP that I couldn't sleep even being so tired I wanted to die!
Even the next morning, I hobbled for a while.

Just found your Christmas TR, I must be blind!

OMGOMGOMG. I just watched the rest of the videos in the playlist on YouTube and VIDEO 20 IS AMAZING. Hahahahaha. I am DYING over here.

And that's all I'm going to say here in case anybody hasn't watched it yet, I don't want to spoil it. But it is truly amazing and more than I ever could have hoped for.

Hahaha oh thank you. We thought we'd go out with a big bang on the last night. :rotfl:
And LOL yeah she does. This entire update is basically a showcase of her many facial expressions.

I can't wait until you watch them!! You're probably gonna die. We still watch them to this day! We like to pretend we are Stacey. You know. It's a common dream amongst disgirls.
I'm so glad you enjoyed this post. LOL I was hoping everyone would get a laugh out of it! And very nice frump rendition of the song LOL
Enjoy!

Just found your Christmas TR, I must be blind!

I know, right!? How perfect.
Oh thank you, Kadence! Aww that's so cute - aren't they such a fun keepsake?
It did help a little bit! Also, peppermint lotion helps too. I don't know why, somebody recommended it to me on the DIS way back in the day and I still use it. I mean, neither remedy works to make your feet feel 100% better, but it helps a little. Also, switching pairs of shoes helps too!
I totally know what you mean, though. Disney foot pain is my absolute worst enemy. I can't take it.

OMGOMGOMG. I just watched the rest of the videos in the playlist on YouTube and VIDEO 20 IS AMAZING. Hahahahaha. I am DYING over here.

Hahaha I am SO glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, I put them all up on youtube but not in the TR just yet! But I'm sure everyone figured that out LOL.
I am so glad you liked them! It was lots of fun recording and making those little beauties :rotfl:

We like to pretend we are Stacey. You know. It's a common dream amongst disgirls.

Why yes, yes it is. Speaking of which, did I see something on Twitter about a possible frumpy recreation of the Stacey show? Because that is going to be mindblowingly awesome.

I love the little puppet stand. I doubt anyone ever buys 'em, but they sure are fun to play with. Norman the Deer is adorable.

Oh, I'm so jealous! I've always wanted to color a Duffy!

I have noticed how fantastic the Illuminations pre-show music is. I like to call it THE PRE-ILLUMINATIONS TECHNO DANCE PARTY because once the beat drops, I don't stop. :cool1:

I'm cracking up at the fact that the 'Sorry, we're not showing this lame, er, majestic movie today' says 'Sorry for the inconvenience' at the bottom. Who would find that to be an inconvenience? The fact that the movie even exists is the true inconvenience.

I secretly want a Duffy too. With Lederhosen. Katie bought a Duffy in July and he has a little Woody costume and it's pretty much the most adorable thing ever.

Sarah's so brave for trying (and enjoying) Mission Space. It's one of my 'I REFUSE' rides. It's basically just a panic attack waiting to happen.

The videos are excellent as usual. You do a great job! :thumbsup2

I love your frump-date. It puts a smile on my face to see such deliriousness! :rotfl2:

And I'm being a very good girl and not watching the videos in advance, just waiting for you to post them. :littleangel:
