Sorry to hear that you are ill. I lost my voice a couple of years ago, couldn't speak for several days, then got my voice back & coughed for three more weeks. It was victious! Hope you don't get any worse.:flower3:

Thank you, Doris!
Today is day 5 that I am on sickleave and my voice is still not back to normal. Hope it goes away soon! ;)
I want my voice back! :rotfl2:

Planning our February trip!!!!!

Day 4, Tuesday, February 21

Today we will visit Castaway Cay.

IMG_6670.jpg

So I guess we will order

IMG_6672.jpg

room service breakfast the day before and have breakfast on the veranda, with a nive view of the island.

IMG_6726.jpg

Unfortunately that pirate ship is no longer there, but I like the photo.

By 9.30 we will get off the ship and head to the tram that will take us to Serenity Bay.

DSC_0971.jpg

When we have to change trams we will have a quick look at the shops and any new merchandise they offer. At Serenity Bay we will most likely try to find a nice spot

DSC_0972.jpg

DSC_0977.jpg

and if the weather permits will hit the crystal clear waters right away.

DSC_0980.jpg

Once we get out again we will dry off and enjoy

IMG_6696.jpg

IMG_6698.jpg

a nice cool beverage while relaxing on our beach chairs. We might even take some chairs down to the water

IMG_6695.jpg

and stick our feet in while sipping those drinks. Around midday we will head to the barbeque area and have some nice lunch.

IMG_6688.jpg

IMG_6689.jpg

IMG_6694.jpg

They have a nice array of food there and I just love their salads and grilled Mahi Mahi. Once we have filled our bellies we will head back to the beach for a little more rest, recreation and swimming.

IMG_6676.jpg

By 3pm we will pack up our stuff and slowly head back to the tram to go back to the Dream. If there are any more items we want from the shops we will then pick them up before finally heading back on board.

IMG_1271.jpg

Once we both have had a shower and our hair are washed and dried again we will then hand out some more Fish Extender gifts

IMG_1647.jpg

IMG_1645.jpg

and maybe pick up a snack at Tow Mater's Grill. Then it should be time to see the DREAM pull out of Castaway Cay and wave goodbye to it until the summer. Later we will most likely have a drink in one of the bars

IMG_1773.jpg

IMG_1778.jpg

before heading back to our stateroom to get changed for our early dinner at Palo. That should give us enough time to enjoy the food and service

IMG_1429.jpg

IMG_1436.jpg

IMG_1444.jpg

and still have time to see some of the Pirate night fun on board. After watching the fireworks

DSC_0207.jpg

on board we will then head to the Pirate buffet

DSC_0212.jpg

and pick up one or two (or three) items

DSC_0216.jpg

to enjoy back at our stateroom. I guess we will still spend a little time out on the veranda watching the ocean before we fall into bed.

Oh, just in case you missed it ............ ;)

Today my first ticker fell UNDER the two month mark. It's still 1 month, 4 weeks and two days, but less than two months! :rotfl2:
In 8 weeks and 5 days we will be back in the US ....... :cloud9:

No, Tina, you haven't missed much. With being sick and stressful work there was not much time for DISfun ...... but beware, the holidays are coming and with more time there will come more updates. :thumbsup2
Um, btw, where's your pre-trip report for February, you better start it soon!!!!!!

You really need to convince Mark to take a cruise on the DREAM. It's the most amazing experience and there are lots of things to do for Max too!

So sorry you haven't been feeling well. Trying to teach without a voice is pretty impossible. :scared1:

As for a PTR...:lmao: I barely have enough time to check in on the Dis, let alone update anything, write replies on my pre-existing TR, or start a PTR. :sad2: Oh, well. Perhaps the upcoming break will give me enough time to at least wrap up my TR and maybe, just maybe start a PTR????

No, teaching without a voice is pretty bad! :rotfl2: But even though my voice has not come back fully yet, I am going back to work tomorrow. We have all signed up for projects and I do not want to leave the teacher I am working together with, all on her own. So, I guess she is doing a lot more talking than I will. :rotfl2:

Let me know when you start your pre-trip report (if you do one) so I can get on board.
I am so busy with all the reminders of the subscribed threads that I very rarely go to the DISboards themselves. ;)

Under 9 weeks now .... it's getting closer and I cannot wait!!!!!!

Yay for being under two months out :yay:

Plans sound great, love CC such a gorgeous island and I love the fact that its just "yours" for the day :)

Do you know I completely forgot about the buffet on pirate night! :(

Yum. Yum. Yum.

I've just finished dinner but your meals still look fabulous.

I didn't realize that the pirate ship was gone from Castaway Cay. Do you know why and if it's permanent?

The flying dutchman is gone for good. After years of being moored at CC.. and going through several hurricanes... it showed it's age and had to be taken apart before it fell apart...

Hope you're on the way to feeling better Karin!

Michelle, I was just about to ask if Karin knew what happened the Flying Dutchman! That's sad they had to take it down....did they do anything with it or is it in the Disney equivalent of Area 51?

Karin I am so sorry to hear you have been sick. I hope you get your voice back soon. I have been working so much I am too tired to even get on the computer at home. Have a happy holiday! I love the pictures of CC sure would like to take a Christmas cruise with DCL!

Merry Christmas to you! I am sorry I have not been around much over the last couple weeks... but I guess i have had some good reasons. :rolleyes1

I also am sorry that you have not felt well. I hope it is getting better. I see you went back to work just a few days ago. I hope that went well.

As for the plans... they look fabulous! After taking a trip that involved less commando park touring... I really love how relaxed your trip looks! And the food?! I am going to start a ticker for weight loss cause I have gained so much weight this year and even on the trip. I would love to say it was all the wonderful pictures you have shared that caused me to gain the weight...but  I guess I have to be accountable and say I have no self control.

Karin, I am so sorry you are not feeling well and hope you will be better very soon. And poor Tom! How awful to be sick for so long. :( I have asthma too and understand how it can interfere with quicker healing. Now that he has some good meds, hoping he will finally begin to feel much better soon.

It feels really good, to be under two months! And in a few more days I can actually say .... NEXT month. :lmao:

CC is just wonderful, we love it there. :thumbsup2

You forgot about the Pirate buffet? ..... Hm, that can only mean that you HAVE TO cruise again! :rotfl2:
Don't worry, we never made it to the buffet on our first cruise either. And the thing is that we are usually so stuffed that we cannot eat any more anyway. :lmao:

Yum. Yum. Yum.

I've just finished dinner but your meals still look fabulous.

We really enjoyed Palo this summer. We had two dinners there and the food was wonderful, so we are definitely going back in February. :thumbsup2
Unfortunately the Flying Dutchman is gone for good. They demolished it and the photos I have seen (I think here on the DIS) were heartbreaking. :sad2:

Thanks for asking, Abby, I am now feeling a lot better than before Christmas, even though my voice still is not back completely, but not having to teach helps a lot! ;)
They completely demolished the Flying Dutchman. I saw photos of it here and it was really not a pretty sight. Very sad! :sad1:

Woo hoo! I am still waiting to get under the 300 mark. LOL

Not much longer, Jennifer! It will be here before you know it! :thumbsup2

Thank you, Teresa.
I still can't believe that my voice is not fully back yet, but I guess I just went back to school too soon and it "threw" me back.
Tell me about being to tired to get to the computer - I did nothing but sleep over Christmas and even we both had the time off, I never could find the "strengh" to do some updates. ;)
In only 20 months we will both be back on a Disney ship, Teresa, now that is something to look forward to. :thumbsup2

Wishing you and Tom a very Merry Christmas! (Hope that Santa brings you your voice back. )

Thank you! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas too!
My voice is getting better every day .... so I guess Santa did well with my voice! :thumbsup2

Thank you, Ann!
You had the best excuse of us all to not be on the boards! A visit to Mickey's House! :woohoo:
I am getting better as we speak, Ann. It was just so annoying to not be able to have a good voice. But now I am on Christmas break until Jan 9 and my voice will have time to come back until then! :thumbsup2

I am glad to read that you like our plans. We like to take out time, especially since we know we will be back in another 6 months time! :goodvibes
As for gaining weight ....... let me join the club, and I have NOT been to WDW yet. :rotfl2:

To all my Dis Friends

Tom is feeling much better and back to work and I am sure that I will be well until I go back to work in January. :thumbsup2

Here's a short Christmas update!

Tom had to work the morning of Dec 24 and I was still ill with a sore throat and little to no voice, so we had a very low key Christmas.
Our activities consisted of lighting the candles on the tree, exchange and unwrap presents and then it was

eat

sleep

eat

watch TV

eat

sleep

and so on ...... I think you know the drill. ;) :lmao:

Dec 26 is a holiday here too, so Tom went back to work today and I went back to my flat (after spending the holidays at our house) to do some chores around the house and a little DIS updating.

Here are some pics of our tree, presents and Pixie!
