Hi guys! I'm from Philly and planning my trip to Orlando with my bf.
We will be arriving at Orlando International Airport around 11:00am on Jan 2.
We didn't' rent a car cuz our hotel offers free shuttle to Universal Studio, disney and sea world...

the problem that we have right now is needing a ride from the airport to the hotel, which is located at West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, in Kissimmee.

I'm wondering anyone arriving in Orlando around the same time and going to Kissimmsee? Can we catch a ride with you? We are willing to share gas of course.

Also, do any of you guys know any other ways of getting from the airport to Kissimmee, apart from taxi?

Thanks!! wish you guys a great time in Disney!!:cool1::cool1:

What happens if your flight is delayed more then an hour but your car pool volunteers flight arrives early?

Lynx is probably your best bet.

Does your hotel charge a resort fee? Does it charge for theme park transportation? Many do. A Disney value hotel might be a better deal.

Mears might be a good option as well to get you to/from an offsite resort.

I also agree with Lewis: in many cases, a Disney Value is a pretty good deal when you add up all the costs. Even if it is a few dollars more, the transportation convenience will repay itself many times over if you don't have a car.

1. FYI No one has ever posted that had even adequate service from most off site shuttles. I would really research this. Some drop you off late, pick you up early and/or drop you off at WDW at the TTC and expect you to take another bus.

2. Look for another way. Its going to be nearly impossible for you to hook up with anyone and then as posted above what happens if things change.

3. Lynx bus is the cheapest, Mears would also be a choice.

As others have posted and will post you should look at all the costs associated with your trip and see if on site would actually be cheaper. Paying for 2 taxis a day because your free shuttle is a nightmare will kill any savings you may get.

Even think about a split stay, stay at WDW for that portion and then stay at your other hotel for the rest.

If you end up looking into a shuttle from the airport to your hotel, you may end up spending more than renting a car for the entire stay. Check out the January car rental board - there are some super cheap rates available. You can still use the hotel shuttles to save the parking expense, but having a rental car will give you more freedom to get groceries, eat offsite, drive to DTD, etc.

I wouldn't stay offsite without renting a car. Call the hotel and ask the front desk EXACTLY what schedules the shuttles take. The last time we used an off site shuttle, you could only go TO WDW either early morning or late morning. You could only RETURN late afternoon or early evening. The shuttles also stopped at other resorts, adding to the commute time.

The OP is a college student. Renting a car will probably require paying a young driver surcharge. Staying at a Disney value resort and using Lynx to SW and paying for Mears transportation to Universal may wind up with the best deal.
