There's a Chipmunk Eating Your Head!-Dining Review(Complete !! 12/30)

Nice reviews. And great photos.

:welcome: Thanks so much for reading and stopping by !!

We got a new camera for this trip and I wish I were a better photographer, but DH says I don't wait long enough and draw the camera away from the subject too soon. Also, I have shaky hands and that doesn't help either. I found out our new camera has a food setting near the end of the trip. I am so using that setting when we go back in April !!

Love the reviews, DH and I are going back to WDW Jan 4-11 and your reviews are getting me so excited!

Thursday, November 24, 2011 - Thanksgving Dinner

Our ADR for dinner at the Garden Grill was for 7:05 PM - we went to check in at Garden Grill

DSC00574.jpg

This place was very crowded and even though we had a reservation, they told us the wait would be about 20 minutes. There were many people trying to get in without an ADR and they were told that the wait for them would be 2 hours. We waited exactly 20 minutes

And then we were seated. I just loved our booth. It was a half circle and it faced towards the outside of the restaurant, so you didn’t really see any other guests. So you kinda felt like you had the place to yourselves. And another cool thing about the restaurant ?? It rotates. A full revolution in an hour. So cool.

We sat down, ordered drinks and the characters started coming right away.

The kids with Dale

DSC00582.jpg

I should have set the camera on sports setting because the photos I got here were kind blurry because the kids and the characters were always moving and interacting. We got great character interaction here and the kids really enjoyed them.

The waiter brought out the salad

DSC00583.jpg

I liked it OK. It had too much dressing for me. But I like just a TINY bit of dressing, so for most people this would be fine.

Bread. Yeast rolls (yum) and Whole grain rolls (meh)

DSC00584.jpg

I ordered a Pinot Grigio.

We chose this restaurant on this day specifically for its menu which was an all you can eat Harvest Feast.

Family Style Platter (All You Care to Enjoy)

featuring:

Basket of Warm Breads with Maple Butter
Harvest-inspired Farmer's Salad
Char-grilled Filet of Beef with Red Wine Butter
Roasted All Natural Turkey Breast with Cranberry-Orange Relish
Sustainable Fish of the Day with a Sweet Tomato and Fennel Chutney
Garden Fresh Vegetables
Smashed Potatoes
Rice Pilaf

So a breakdown of this. Turkey, potatoes and stuffing – yum. Beef tenderloin cooked a perfect medium and veggies – yum. I liked this best. And then the Mahi-mahi. It was good, but not a s good as the other things. We REALLY enjoyed this meal - DH especially. What made it the most special for us was this was Thanksgiving Day and it was close to a Thanksgiving feast. And the best part ?? We didn’t have to cook …. Or clean up the dishes.

For the kids meal, DD got

Children's Entree Platter

Oven Roasted Chicken Drumstick
Baked Macaroni and Cheese
Broccoli
Crispy Sweet Potato Sticks

Dessert: Mickey "Mousse" Cookies and Cream

She ate well here and DS was super jealous of her chicken leg so the waiter brought him some. We received excellent service here.
Some views.

There’s a hidden Mickey in the above photo. Can you find it ??
For dessert, they brought out some kid of berry cobbler which was VERY good.

Freshly Baked Harvest Fruit Crisp with Hand-Whipped Vanilla Bean Cream

DD got some Mickey Mousse. It was cookies and cream mousse with sprinkles and oreo cookies. She really enjoyed it.

For the Thanksgiving occasion, they also brought out pumpkin/sweet potato tarts

We enjoyed these as well. I would highly recommend the restaurant. We
really liked it !!

Looks like Pluto swallowed your daughter's head. LOL

It was all pretty standard QS fare. Decent food that filled us up. And we found a nice, quiet place upstairs to eat.

Friday, November 25, 2011 – Con’t - World Showcase snacks

After some more time in Epcot. The kids wanted to get some snacks, so we took a detour towards World Showcase.

SQUIRREL !!!

DSC00698.jpg

I got a Mickey Mouse pretzel at the American Pavilion.

DSC00699.jpg

DSC00705.jpg

This has been on my Disney “to do” list, so it was nice to cross that off. It tasted just like the other pretzels, but being that it was Mickey shaped just made it more fun.

We got DD a cherry Kaka Gori

DSC00707.jpg

DSC00700.jpg

Which she really enjoyed.

DS decided he wanted one too, so we got him one. Then we head back towards France.

At dinner time, we dragged the kids out of the pool and headed around the lake to eat at Beaches and Cream. We had eaten here last year and the kids really wanted to go back.

DSC00720.jpg

DSC00721.jpg

She loved it. It was cute.

DS got a root beer float

DSC00722.jpg

It was huge, but very yummy.

And DH and I shared the Milky Way sundae.

Milky Way Sundae - Bundt Cake topped with three scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream, Hot Fudge, Butterscotch, Whipped Cream and a Cherry

DSC00723.jpg

Oh eM Gee !!! This thing was amazing !! We couldn’t finish it but it tasted sooo good!!
