I am so glad to hear you haven't been getting soaked on Splash. When I found out it would be open in Jan, with BTMRR closed instead, I was bummed because I thought "who wants to get soaked in January?" Maybe we'll give it a shot after all. I haven't been on in years!

Soooo much to comment on..I'm gonna try and condense this but I know it will be endless anyway:

-You are so talented with nail art! The best I can do is a little heart. I may attempt some Mickey Mouse nails for our trip though!

-Omg, I love that you surprised your friend like that. If someone did that for me I would seriously drop dead of happiness!! You guys are all so adorable and I could totally feel your excitement reading this. Awesome!

-"Some people had to take a bathroom break, but I didn't have to go, so I went into MICKEY'S STAR TRADERS. (say that like the old Transit Authority voiceover. Thank you.)" HAHAHAHA I totally read it in that voice before you even said that! I love Mickey's Star Traders, it's one of my favorite shops! They always seem to have stuff I don't see elsewhere in the parks.

-Your Coral Reef lunch looks awesome! I heard that place went downhill but obviously you didn't have that experience. I love that they gave you a candle to celebrate too and I cracked up at the Alejandro/John thing. Hmm maybe we will give it a try!

-That dress you have with all the different colors and Mickey heads is KILLER! I LOVE it!

-OMG. I can't believe the mass amount of characters you met at the Magic of Disney Animation! Last time I was there I didn't feel like waiting on the lines and there weren't that many anyway. Next week (eee!!!) I hope they'll have a lot of them! I NEED character pics!

-Your whole Woody & Buzz experience is the cutest thing ever. I love how insanely excited Nat got. That is so me. Every time I see Mickey Mouse in person I tear up, I can't help it! I love how they acted with you too. I hate when it's just hi, picture, bye. The characters who actually ACT LIKE CHARACTERS are so much more fun!

I remember the last time we went (2008) my dad got one and I wasn't really a big cinnamon fan so it kinda grossed me out, but now I love it, so I am so excited. I had totally forgotten they existed! And your video, mmmm. So good! That French waiter is pretty hot too, way-to-go! Shame he wasn't there when you went back though!

I definitely played VMK too, it was my life and then they shut it, I was so so sad Agree that the Haunted Mansion makes you think of it though, definitely does for me!! Love it! I was never all that good at that game though, more of a pirates fan!!

What is iPhoto?! I'm not always "in the know" with technology. I attempted to make my OWN videos back in March on our Spring Break trip, but I did all the videoing myself...OF myself.So, needless to say, the videos did NOT turn out good. Most of them have either my whole face cut off, or just part of my face actually on camera, because I was holding the camera away from me and videoing myself, and I didn't know what of me was on camera and what wasn't. Haha. I will definitely have to ask my mom or dad or even my 10 year old brother to video for us this NEXT trip in March. ​

Haha I know what you mean!! Cuz I joined during one of the very last days of Beta.. and I had no idea what I was doing. So I don't think I bought much of anything! I think I had a few things here and there.. and I made some trades. GAHH I miss it too.
And I know! I found like "open VMK" and the creator sounded pretty legit about it... but then he got too busy so nothing happened. I haven't seen GPVMK/VMKRevisited I should go find it!

iPhoto comes with mac computers and it's a photo editing program!
Aww I'm sorry they didn't turn out good! It is VERY difficult to video tape yourself I know how you feel! I hope someone else will do it for you on your next trip!

Chapter 22: Two Words - RED VELVET.
August 22nd, 2011

This morning I had a wake-up call for 7:25 am! I actually woke up this time, which is a MAJOR accomplishment.

I dragged myself out of bed, took a shower, got Nat up, and we got ready! We were at the bus stop by 8:20 am.

The Hollywood Studios bus took about 10-15 minutes to get there, but soon enough we were on our way!

We arrived at the park about 10-15 minutes before opening. Then we had some ticket drama.

My annual pass they gave me back in January was one of those paper tickets. Somehow, the back had gotten all smeared. I tried to ignore it during the beginning of the trip and the ticket worked fine. However, this morning it decided not to give out on me!

I thought that it was going to mess up our Toy Story Mania Mad Dash plan, but the cast member was SO nice and got me a new ticket in no time! Thank goodness!

My old annual pass was the "Celebrate You" Mickey Mouse ticket, and now I have a "Let the Memories Begin" Donald Duck ticket.

Want to know something funny? Nat and I both had Donald Duck tickets!

But that's not the funny part. This is:

My annual pass was/is a PAPER ticket... while Nat's 6-Day hopper pass was a CARD. (Aka the same material as a room key!) Wouldn't you think it would be the opposite?

Anyways, after that whole fiasco, we went through the turnstiles. We joined the gigantic mob that was lining up! They were all ready to bolt to Toy Story... and so were we!

We had a VERY set to do list for Hollywood Studios today:
1) Get Toy Story Mania Fastpasses
2) Get a Starring Rolls Cupcake

It... was... TIME.

3... 2... 1... HOORAY FOR HOLLYWOOD!

The rope dropped and we went right to Toy Story Mania! I don't have any traumatizing stories about it... which I guess is a good thing!

We got our fastpasses and were all set to go! We survived the mad dash!

Once we got the golden tickets, we walked back through the empty park to Starring Rolls.

This was my first Starring Rolls experience EVER and it was a monumental moment. I finally showed up at a reasonable hour and it was open and I was HAPPY!

I have to say... that place is DANGEROUS. If you are easily swayed by temptation, you might want to watch yourself in this bakery. Everything looks AMAZING! I could look at the baked goods all day. They're beautiful.

I ordered my Red Velvet Cupcake and I was SO happy. The cast member asked if I ever had one before, and I told her no. She said they were absolutely DIVINE! Boy, was she right.

We asked for the cupcake to-go because we had a lot more to do! We cashed out and headed for the park exit!

Yes, we literally were in and out of DHS in 20 MINUTES. Not kidding. I timed us. We needed to get these two things done, and we weren't going to make it to Hollywood on any other morning this trip. It was a necessary stop to make!

I love that Pluto.

We headed for the exit:

And wouldn't you know.. an Animal Kingdom bus was sitting right there for us! We got right on and our bus driver asked "you are going to Animal Kingdom... right?" Hahaha yes, we were.

We had the whole bus to ourselves... considering no one else in their right mind would be going from Hollywood to Animal Kingdom at 9:20 in the morning. But I never said we were in our right mind, now did I?

We arrived at Disney's Animal Kingdom! JAMBO!

We met up with Kristen, Sue, and Sarah and Island Mercantile. They went on Kilimanjaro Safaris that morning and got free fastpasses because of Sarah's birthday button! So they got in the fastpass line, but since it was so early, their fastpasses weren't even collected! So they kept them. Good girls.

After filling eachother in on our morning adventures, Kristen, Nat, and I found a place to sit, and we ATE THAT CUPCAKE!!

It was DEER FACE WORTHY. It was DELECTABLE. It was like no other cupcake I have EVER eaten!!!! The texture in absolutely indescribably PERFECT. It's everything you would want out of a cupcake. And of course, heath bars make everything amazing!!! And the frosting... oh the frosting was SO good. It wasn't that super filling "fake" sugary stuff. It was REAL. It was GOOD. It was PERFECT.

I was so involved in the experience that I forgot to take pictures of the inside until it was almost gone! But here's what was left by the time I remembered:

Even Nat loved it... and she is not a huge cupcake person!

Soooo YEAH. This cupcake was one of the best things that ever happened to me. YOU MUST GET IT.... NOW! yummmm. Definitely one of my top favorite Disney foods of all time.

YAY UPDATE.

Oh noooo. Ticket drama on TSM morning?! NOT GOOD. But I'm glad everything worked out so quickly!
But yeah... I do think it's weird that the more official tickets that would need to last 365 days would be the LESS durable ones!
WELL HOT DANG. I've never been to Starring Rolls but maybe I should just... not go. Everything looks TOO good. (Stay away Marissa. Stay away.)

I'm back (said in haunted mansion voice). Sorry I haven't commented in a while. I have been really busy with school stuff and I am within a tiny break period before more stuff comes up.

Ok so back to your updates. I don't remember when the last time i commented was so I am just going to comment from your swimming and kona updates.

The pool at coranado (sp?) springs look nice I think your pictures made it look even nicer though. What programs do you use to edit pictures? I have always just used my phone which is nice and works but I was just wondering what other techiniques are out their for picture editing. I like editing pictures in fun ways like how you like to make trip videos. I take a bunch of my trip pictures and always try out a bunch of editing techinques using various iphone apps. It is really fun and I like the results. anyway back to the update. I love how excited you and Nat were about the monorail and kona! I have heard amazing things about kona for breakfest and i have also heard good things about it for dinner. You guys have made me really want to try THE BREAD someday I think kona breakfest will probably be more likely to happen though which is ok by me because i have been wanting to try that as well.

I had a bunch of comments as i was reading about your night in MK with kristen but i just totally forgot them. I do remember one about as you guys were leaving though. You three really have some memorable magic kingdom exits and they are all hillarious! I loved the one from this last update about the cinanmon roll and then going into the people observations and spyings and then kristen renaming each disney thing to fit the word frump. You were right about that one being obvious for a while now but it was still hillarious and put a smile on my face. I also liked nat commenting on the kids shirt and him ignoring her causing you guys to comment on how disney is different from regular life. going back to the cinamon roll part i loved how excited you were to try the cinamon roll. Nothing was going to ruin your mood at that moment and not even a cute guy could ruin your concentration at the moment.

As for this most recent update. Awesome job at getting up at 7:30 in the morning! That for some reason is hard for me but i am hoping that changes this trip. about your ticket being annoying! i remember having alot of those kind of issues with the annual pass when my mom and i had them. I wish that disney would figure out a way to include annual passes on resort cards because you are totally right for being surprised about that!

Glad that the detour didn't affect your ability to get a fastpass for toy story maina. Hope this time you guys actually got to go on it Also very excited for you that you finally got your starring rolls cupcake I love those cupcakes! I haven't had the red velvet one there because other ones have always taken priority. oh well, this time i am defintely trying a starring rolls red velvet cupcake. I am a big fan of red velvet cupcakes so i'm pretty sure i will like it! I love how moist it is and even though the frosting is cream cheese it almost never tastes 2 much like cream cheese to enjoy. I'm the only one in my family that actually does love red velvet cupcakes (my mom likes then but probably wouldn't choose red velvet over other kinds of cupcake, my dad and brother never opt for red velvet). Granted for me if i see a chocolate cupcake or ice cream it will always win but red velvet isn't 2 far behind those for me. granted i am also the only member of my family that doesn't like the traditional yellow cupcake so i defintely think my cake taste is different from my family in general. ok rant over. Glad you guys enjoyed the cupcake! can't wait to hear more about your day (i am especially curious to hear what happens this day that made it both kristen and nat's favorite day of the trip- my guess is another frumpy experience).
