Any ideas on when the first mvmcp and osb lights will be for 2012? I'm trying to plan a trip for both f&w fest, which ends 11/11, and the osb and castle lights, which the 2012 dates have not been announced yet.
Here are the prior year dates:

1st MVMCP:
2008 11/10 (2nd Tues)
2009 11/10 (2nd Tues)
2010 11/8 (2nd Mon)
2011 11/8 (2nd Tues)

If they go according to that schedule, I'm thinking it would be 11/13 (2nd Tues of month). That seems kind of late though...
:confused3

I also looked up the past years first Osborne Lights dates:
2008 11/28 (last Fri)
2009 11/10 (2nd Tues)
2010 11/8 (2nd Mon)
2011 11/10 (2nd Thurs)

So I'm wondering if it will be 11/8 (second Thurs)? Any other ideas?
I tried posting on the Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies board, but I guess most disers over there aren't thinking 11 months ahead! :goodvibes

Thanks!

I'd be interested to know too. We'll be going the Monday after F&W's last weekend (usually Veteran's Day weekend), 11/12/12. That's intentional because the crowds with F&W and Jersey week are pretty heavy. I would guess it will be the 2nd Thursday for Osborne lights and the 2nd Tuesday for MVMCP. But until it's announced who knows. :confused3

Well, I can tell you something about the Osborne Lights that might suggest that earlier date. Back in 2008 was pre-Wine and Dine half marathon (I think that just started a couple years ago). The significance of that is that the Osborne Lights are up before the running of the half marathon, which is the first weekend in October. I know because they always "surprise" the runners with having the lights lit (well, the first year it was a surprise, this year they kind of expected it). Since the lights are probably planned to be up early next year (again the Wine and Dine half marathon coincides with opening weekend of the F&W festival), I'd guess they'll turn on the lights to the public in early November.

Oh no when is Jersey week? I just booked F&W for next Oct. and was avoiding Veteran's Day due to increase in crowds. Just booked Oct 20 -27, 2012 - subject to change!:rotfl2:

Jersey week is always the first full week in november, so the last week in October should be good.

That being said, my family stayed during jersey week in 2010 and it really wasn't that busy.

I wouldn't avoid that week.

Actually, I would avoid that week if flexibility permits. It was very heavily crowded from Wednesday thru Saturday this year for Jersey week. It was still doable but comparable to our last two summer trips.
