Can anyone tell me if they updated the design on the refillable mugs since Septemeber? I would hate to hafta buy new mugs since we just bought 4 of them two months ago. Thanks in advance!!!

Yikes!! This is a very hot topic on these boards. I believe the design of the cups has not changed however it is frowned upon by some to reuse those mugs because on the mug it states that they are for use only on the visit they were purchased.

You will see some people refilling mugs from the 1990s and wonder why you were worried about whether or not they were still selling "your design."

When we were there earlier this month I believe I saw a sign by the Mugs that said they were for the "length of stay." However, I did see some people refilling older mugs.

We always buy new mugs on each trip. We did have a split stay, first day at one resort and the next 8 at another, but they were all under the same reservation number and I considered it one stay so didn't buy a mug at each resort. popcorn::

Disney is working on a project that will restrict the re-use of mugs from a prior visit. I was originally told that they hoped to have the system in place by the start of the new year but now they are shooting for the beginning of summer.

Joey, what are you drinking tonight? You've been a member here for almost 7 years, have only 15 posts to your name and choose THIS topic to start up? I take it from your green grin on the title you know what you're doing.

. . . . . I did see some people refilling older mugs. . . . . . . . . .

Early on, WDW did sell "Lifetime Refills" for the mugs they sold. They were resort specific. I have two of those mugs. I expect WDW to honor their offer.

It must have been before 1997 when we bought our first mugs.

Disney can change the rules anytime they like.

I'm with you D Dad.:thumbsup2

I have my 2 classic Dixie Landings, yellow with Mickey and my 2 Wilderness Lodge migs. (not a typo :goodvibes)

When I purchased my old Wilderness Lodge refillable mug, it was not sold as a length-of-stay mug, it was a "forever mug". That was back when they actually designed them for hotels, not as a general design.

So I you buy an annual pass and then six months in Disney decides to stop honoring them you would be ok with that?
Same here. Some folks bought a lifetime mug. What they bought should be honored.

Somebody's alternative personality is coming out to stir the pot.

Totally agree.

:thumbsup2 Good analogy.

As the refillable mugs are not a DVC specific item, and are controlled by the Disney Resorts, I'm going to close this thread.
