23 Nights, 40 ADRS, too many food pics to count!! COMPLETED 01/22!

Hi there, I knew I ha seen this thread somewhere before. Just as good if not better reading it second time around.

Thank you for sharing xx

Hi, I assume you mean on the dibb? Yeah I'm updating both sites simultaneously. And thanks for joining in, glad you enjoyed.

We had a 7:15 breakfast ADR at Grand Floridian cafe today. We’d never tried this restaurant before but had read almost universally positive reviews, so I was looking forward to it. We took a taxi and arrived just after 7am. We were seated immediately as the restaurant was very empty, with only four tables occupied.

I had a Tropical splash to drink which was orange juice mixed with strawberry puree. It was very nice, little sweeter than normal orange juice, and you could taste the strawberries.
IMG_1265.jpg

DH got coffee, our server left him the whole pot but it wasn’t good coffee, it tasted like it had been burnt or something.

I had Eggs benedict as this is my favourite breakfast dish. It was very good, perfectly cooked eggs with runny centre, tangy hollandaise sauce, served on a toasted muffin with thick slices of ham. Asparagus was served on the side, which was fresh and not overcooked at all.
IMG_1266.jpg

DH chose the Maple french toast, which was also very good. Nice and sweet, soft in centre, very thick bread, a slight maple flavour and it was delicious with maple syrup poured over. He had it served with fruit which was ripe and fresh.
IMG_1267.jpg

We were finished by 7:35, so after having a wander round the grounds (it’s so pretty here) we monorailed over to contemporary for some good coffee at java grounds, before walking across to MK for rope drop.

I’ll finish with a couple of beach pictures. So pretty!

LTT is our favourite MK restaurant and we eat here every trip. We had a 12:30 reservation, checked in 12:20 and waited about 20 minutes tin the very crowded lobby before being sat at a nice four top in the corner, which was decorated with streamers for our anniversary.

Our server was good, prompt with refills and our order even though she also had a 12 top to take care of. We chose the Spinach, cheese and crab dip to start. This was very good, creamy dip topped with plenty of cheese, a little spice and nice crab flavour. The was pitta good, but started to go a bit hard and crisp as it sat out.
This was a huge portion even for two, but we didn’t get to eat more than half as our entrees were delivered about 5 mins after appetiser. When our server noticed she did offer to have them sent back so we could finish dip, but wanted to save room for dessert anyway.
IMG_1296.jpg

My entree was the Pilgrims feast, a big plate of moist turkey, mashed potato, stuffing, green beans and gravy. Everything was good, again a very big portion but I managed to eat over half of it. The beans were nicely cooked, still having a little bite to them, the potatoes were ok, not super creamy but smooth. Th stuffing was nice but not like stuffing I’d have back home and the gravy was good.
IMG_1297.jpg

DH chose this seasons fresh catch. Today it was pan fried trout fillets, which were cooked well and served with a nice crispy skin. They were served on a vegetable stew which had good herby flavour, roast potatoes added a bit of starch. A very nice dish.
IMG_1298.jpg

For dessert there was only ever going to be one choice for me, the fabulous ooey gooey toffee cake. It had been two years since I tasted this dessert but it was as good as I remembered, moist vanilla cake almost cookie dough like, with chocolate toffee crumbles, ice cream and caramel/chocolate sauces. Very sweet but delicious.
IMG_1302.jpg

DH chose the Martha washington cake, described as chocolate cake with chocolate coffee icing. No exaggeration this was the biggest slice of cake I’d ever seen, at about 3 inches across, and 3 layers tall (the pic didn’t do a good job of capturing how big this thing was!) The sponge was nice and moist with a good chocolate flavour, the icing actually had a very strong coffee taste (would have been too strong for me to really enjoy) which cut through the sweetness a little. It was served with cream and berries, and I was amazed when DH managed to eat the whole thing.
IMG_1303.jpg

Overall we had another good lunch here and LTT would still make our must do list.

I have not yet been to GF Cafe or LTT, so I enjoyed those reviews. The Eggs Benedict and the Toffee Cake are calling my name!

Our first day having lunch at LTT , everything in your pics looks so yummy.

Great updates again :thumbsup2

Your breakfast at GFC looks delicious, especially the French Toast :cloud9:

It's great to see some different entrees reviewed from LTT; the Trout dish looks yummy

The oozy gooey toffee cake is amazing, definitely worth a visit to LTT.

Enjoy LTT, we've always had good food there.

Thank you. GFC was really good and DH enjoyed the trout at LTT.

Tonight we had a 7:50 reservation at Kouzzina, for which we were seated quickly at 7:45. The atmosphere here was very loud, we were sat two top right in front of open kitchen and the table was very close to our neighbours.

The view into kitchen was interesting, it was a bit chaotic with food for one table frequently being plated up at different times, and I watched a few dishes being thrown away because the wrong dish had been cooked. I would describe the service here as poor and definitely the worst of the trip. It didn’t seem like it was specific to our table though, as looking around it seemed to be similar for other parties. We waited ages to order drinks, DH’s app came quickly whereas mine arrived 10 minutes later with no apology or explanation. The bread wasn’t delivered until the main course arrived and we waited long time between courses. Overall our server just didn’t seem interested, and seemed to spend more time in a back room than looking after her tables. Interestingly the food runners seemed to work incredibly hard, one girl just didn’t stop all night.

When we were finally able to place drink orders we both ordered a wine flight, these were very good.
IMG_1312.jpg

My appetiser was spanakopita, the flaky filo pastry was lovely, it had plenty of tasty spinach filling but not enough cheese, I couldn’t taste any feta at all. This was served on a olive and tomato relish, the olive flavour was very strong, and I’m not a huge olive fan, even when I tried eating the tomatoes it all tasted like olive.
IMG_1314.jpg

DH chose the Saganaki, this was a large piece of hot, salty cheese which he really enjoyed. I had a bite while waiting for my app and it was good. However it was served with two slices of toasted bread which were so hard you couldn’t even bite into them, this was the only dish we had all trip that was partially inedible.
IMG_1313.jpg

For my entree I chose the trio, so I could sample three dishes. This was nicely put together with cinnamon chicken, lamb burger and greek style lasagna. The chicken was served with orzo pasta, the chicken was bland but pasta had a good herby flavour, and was nicely cooked. The lasagna noodles were nicely cooked and it was piping hot, but didn’t seem to have any real flavour to it. The Lamb burger was most flavourful of the three by far, but it was pretty spicy, too much for me (but I admit I’m a wimp with spices!). Nicely cooked lamb, creamy tzatski, cucumber and tomato slices, the bread roll was a little hard but it was fine.
IMG_1316.jpg

DH chose the Traditional Whole fish which tonight was Yellowtail snapper. This was a meaty fish which had been cooked well. The food runner kindly filleted it for DH and removed head. It was served on a bed of spinach, with fried peppers and onions, which had a good amount of flavour. He enjoyed this dish but there were a lot of bones left in the fish which made it a little difficult to eat.
IMG_1315.jpg

I had Greek yogurt style sorbet with berries and mint syrup for dessert. The sorbet had a good greek yogurt flavour which was tart and paired well with fruit. This was a light dessert and would be good for people who don’t want a very sweet finish to the meal.
IMG_1318.jpg

DH had Loukamades, nice donuts, crispy on outside, soft in middle. Gorgeous with vanilla and raspberry dip, he ate them all and really enjoyed them,
IMG_1317.jpg

Overall this was the only restaurant of the trip that we both said we wouldn’t return to. The service was awful, and the food wasn’t good enough to make up for it. Aside from the donuts there was nothing either of us thought was fantastic, and unless I read a lot of stellar reviews between now and our next trip I don’t think we’ll be eating dinner here again. We had a breakfast reservation here for a couple of days later, I was hoping that breakfast would be a little better!

We walked to DHS today and again stopped for breakfast at boardwalk bakery on the way, We shared a chocolate chip muffin and a coffee but forgot to take a picture. The muffin was good though, very soft inside and crispy on top.

We had an 11:00 reservation at 50’s Prime Time for lunch. I chose to eat so early as it worked better with the show times, and we’d never been here before and I was a bit nervous about the antics I’d read about so wanted to go when it was quiet. We checked in just before 11 and were seated quickly, we both loved the theming of the place.

Our server was good, not massively into the antics but he may have picked up on my shyness, the server next to us had a large party and watching her was fun.

I ordered the Picnic punch to drink, which was nice but very sweet.
IMG_1328.jpg

DH had coke float, he enjoyed it but I hate floats, I can’t stand ice-cream mixing with fizzy drinks.
IMG_1327.jpg

We shared the onion rings to start which were good, nice and hot, crispy batter, soft onion and a tangy horseradish dip.
IMG_1329.jpg

My entree was the chicken pot pie. I really enjoyed this, a nice creamy cheesey filling of chicken, peas, carrots and celery (I avoided this as I hate celery), topped with buttery flaky pastry. The chicken seemed to be mostly white meat and was reasonably moist, it was a big portion so I couldn’t finish it all.
IMG_1330.jpg

DH had the olive oil poached salmon, with garlic mash served on bed of spinach, and mushrooms. It should have been served with bacon but he asked for it to be left out. The fish was slightly overcooked, but ok. The mash was lovely, creamy with a good garlic flavour, the mushrooms, added earthly flavour, but they didn’t seem to pair that well with salmon.
IMG_1331.jpg

I ordered the PB&J milkshake for my dessert, as I’d read so many rave reviews of it. It was very nice, creamy vanilla ice cream, mixed with plenty of peanut butter and the occasional hint of jelly. Again this was a huge portion and I didn’t manage it all, as there was another glass full left in the metal cup.
IMG_1332.jpg

DH chose the Boston cream parfait. Nice portion of soft pound cake, topped with a creamy custard/parfait, finished with a chocolate topping which had a bit of a fake chocolate taste.
IMG_1333.jpg

Overall we both enjoyed this restaurant and would return.

We watched Beauty and the Beast, rode a few more rides then headed out of DHS. On the way out we picked up an M&M brownie from starring rolls. I wanted to try one for ages and we still had loads of snack credits left so figured even if it just got half eaten at least i tried it. As it happens I think only had a couple of bites but it was as good as I’d been imagining; soft, dense brownie topped with chocolate ganache and mini m&ms.

Great review of 50s
We haven't been there for years (although I have popped into the Tune In Lounge!!)
I've always wanted to try one of the M&M Brownies as they just look so cute but I am always distracted by the cupcakes in Starring Rolls :)

I had a disappointing meal at Kouzzina too. Everything was over-salted and the service was abysmal.

50's PT look yummy though. I really enjoyed my visit there. The Pot Pie looks good, maybe I'll have to try that next time!

I'm so sorry you were disappointed in Kouzzina. We've been twice for dinner since May and it's been one of our favorites. Service has been very good and I just adore the whole fish entree.

Shame about Kouzzina, their menu looks really good

The reviews of breakfast always seem to be great

Thanks, we enjoyed 50's more than I thought I would. The little I tried of the brownie was good, but I'm usually distracted by the cupcakes too!

The service was really awful there, glad I'm not the only one who had that experience.

The pot pie was very good, lots of flavour and the pastry was so light and crispy.

I'm so sorry you were disappointed in Kouzzina. We've been twice for dinner since May and it's been one of our favorites. Service has been very good and I just adore the whole fish entree.

Glad you enjoyed Kouzzina, may be we were just unlucky. DH liked the whole fish entree but I just can't get past the poor service and serving bread so hard you could break a tooth on it.

Shame about Kouzzina, their menu looks really good

We had a much better breakfast experience than dinner.

We always enjoy Flying Fish so were looking forward to our dinner here. It was pouring outside so we walked round as quickly as possible and arrived around 15 mins early. We were told they were running behind but were actually seated 5 minutes later.

We were given a nice 4 top by window, our server took a while to greet us but when he did it was with a complimentary glass of champagne so all was forgiven!

To drink we both ordered wine flights,I had the pinot noir and DH the italian. They were good 2oz pours and a nice selection, and they were served with a little card explaining the three wines.
IMG_1349.jpg

IMG_1350.jpg

To start I chose the tuna tartare on tuna tempura roll. This was wonderful, fresh tuna tartare, topped with spicy wasabi cream and crunchy roe sitting on a Tempura roll with very thin tempura batter, cooked tuna, avocado, and well seasoned sushi rice. Definitely the best appetiser of the trip.
IMG_1352.jpg

DH chose the crispy rice crusted maine lobster served with rock shrimp and asian vegetables. Again this was very good, soft lobster, thin rice coating, spicy shrimp cooked well, served in a coconut, ginger and lemongrass based broth. A unique appetiser packed with flavour.
IMG_1351.jpg

My entree was the potato crusted red snapper, on buttered leeks and red wine veal glace. This was good, the snapper was very well cooked, meaty, flaky and very moist. The potato crust was thin and tasted similar to roast potato, the red wine sauce very silky and has a strong wine flavour, but the leeks were a little undercooked meaning they were slightly chewy. It had been sat under a heat lamp for a few minutes so the sauce had formed a skin, (I saw the runner had brought our entrees out but as our appetiser dishes were still on the table took them back to the kitchen), it didn’t affect the flavour of the dish, only the presentation.
IMG_1353.jpg

DH had Hawaiian monchong, very nice white fish, with a citrus crust. This was beautifully cooked, meaty, very moist, the crust had a strong citrus flavour but didn’t overpower fish. It was served with a selection of vegetables, brussel sprouts, baby carrots, baby turnips (all nicely cooked, soft with a little crunch)
IMG_1354.jpg

My dessert was the trio of boardwalk concessions- popcorn mousse (firm but smooth texture, good popcorn flavour, topped with caramel popcorn); pound cake fries cute but not a lot of taste; whoopie pie ( good, thick peanut butter filling, soft chocolate cake) and a Cherry lime popsicle (very strong lime flavour, meaning it was very sour but refreshing after the other two sweet elements). Overall I thought this was a good dessert, the presentation was fantastic and the flavours were good.
IMG_1356.jpg

DH chose the Pecan Apple Blondie tart. This was basically a good homemade apple pie, buttery pastry, nice pecan and apple filling, crunchy crust on top, topped with candied orange and toffee ice cream.
IMG_1357.jpg

DH also had an espresso martini with dessert. This was good but had a very strong coffee flavour, DH loved it but it was too strong for me.
IMG_1355.jpg

We both really enjoyed our meal here, the appetisers were the stars of the show, but we enjoyed all three courses, and remains high on our list of Disney Restaurants.

We had a 7:30 am reservation at Cape May Cafe, we checked in around 7:25 and there didn’t seem that many people waiting. We were sat at 7:30 at a small booth in the corner, initially it was only adult only parties sat in our corner so it was very quiet, more families were sat during course of meal but it was still quiet for a character meal.

Our server brought orange juice and coffee, he was quick with refills and clearing plates.

The buffet had good selection, similar to captains grille. First plate had a sausage, seemed same as captains grille, slightly spicy, not too greasy, fried potato cubes, cornbeef frittata, nice if a little bland and bread pudding with caramel sauce (delicious, very soft, thick texture and good caramel flavour)
IMG_1530.jpg

DH had a slice of egg white frittata (made with a nice selection of vegetables but also had bacon in it so i ended up eating some of it) potatoes, a biscuit and scrambled egg.
IMG_1531.jpg

DH’s second plate had some bread pudding and pecan caramel roll, the roll wasn’t as nice as the bread pudding, lacked flavour of cinamon roll, the pastry was nice and soft though.
IMG_1534.jpg

My last plate had mickey waffle (good), a bit more bread pudding and cherry danish, nice soft pastry, plenty of cherry filling.
IMG_1537.jpg

Dh finished with two pastries,an apple danish and chocolate croissant, he said both were good. We were given anniversary cupcakes by our server. We were too full to eat them so took them back to the room. We were checking out the next day so they never got eaten, they looked pretty though.
IMG_1541.jpg

IMG_1542.jpg

The characters were good here, Donald especially spent a fair bit of time with each table, he even sat down at the table next to us and started reading the paper (very cute!). It was more laid back than some of the other character breakfasts, and one we’d consider returning to.

We had a 2pm reservation at Via Napoli for lunch, but arrived at 1:15 and were seated within a few minutes, at a two top which was very close to our neighbours.

Our Server seemed new, he struggled a little with english a bit but was fine. This was our first time eating here and I liked the decor but it had a very bustling atmosphere but wasn’t crazy loud.

I had a cannoli martini to drink which was amazing. It was 1 part biscotti liqueur, 2 parts cream, garnished with chocolate pieces and cannoli crumbs on rim. It was very sweet and not a big alcohol hit but was so good. I think this was my favourite cocktail of the trip.
IMG_1544.jpg

My appetiser was arancini, which was ok. Soft risotto and mince filling, thick breadcrumb coating, deep fried and served with a tangy tomato sauce. The risotto was nicely cooked but I didn’t think there was a massive amount of flavour in the dish, Citrico’s arancini was much more flavourful. It was a big portion and I ate two of the three pieces, to save room for my pizza.
IMG_1545.jpg

DH chose the Gamberoni. He said it was really nice, the prawns were tasty, the beans were good, coated in an olive oil based dressing and the tomato worked well with the beans and prawns.
IMG_1543.jpg

For our entrees we shared two pizzas, the Quattro Formaggio and the Vegetable pizza. The quattro formaggio was delicious strong flavours from the mix of cheese, very rich, on a good thin and crispy base.
IMG_1546.jpg

The vegetable pizza was nice but not as good as the Quattro, it seemed like a lighter entree with a tomato base, courgettes, roasted peppers and mushrooms on top, and not a lot of cheese.
IMG_1547.jpg

I chose the ugly but good for dessert, this was nice, creamy vanilla ice cream , strong tart cherry sauce, little meringues filled with almonds, topped with whipped cream and cherries. Quite a big portion but not too rich.
IMG_1548.jpg

DH had tiramisu which is one of his favourite desserts. He said this one was good with a nice balance of coffee and liqueur flavours.
IMG_1549.jpg

Overall we enjoyed our meal here, the atmosphere was bustling but didn’t seem crazy loud, the service was fine and the was pizza better than most other disney restaurants.

Thank you so much for your reviews and pictures; very helpful! :thumbsup2

Your dinner at Flying Fish looks wonderful :cloud9:

I think we caught them on a bad night when we ate there in October as pretty much every review I read is excellent

Yummy looking Pizza at VN as well :thumbsup2
