We did dinner at Narcoosee's and it was wonderful. I got the surf and turf which came with the lobster tail. We made our reservations on a MK EMH day and it worked out well for us, but Disney stays open later in the summer/fall than it does in the winter and it looks like you will be there in Jan/Feb if I read your ticker correctly. You will need to allow at least 2 hours for your dining experience and factor in a possible wait time to be seated. You can see Wishes from the windows of the restaurant or go out on the deck. They pipe the music in. This was my favorite dining experience out of all the places we ate on the deluxe dining plan this year.

Oh, how perfect! I didnt know we could view Wishes from the restaurant during our meal. I will try to make our reservation for the MK day Wishes is playing. I sure hope it doesn't take 2 hours to eat our meal, we have never been at a restaurant that long before in our entire lives. Even at fancy restaurants once we are seated, we rarely are there longer than 45 minutes to 1hr, and that is with us taking our time. I won't be a happy camper if our service is so slow anywhere that causes us to be there for 2 hours. Yikes!

There was a post in a different thread about exterior renovations and repainting of the Ranchos section going on now. Anyone have information on this? I was thinking of requesting this section but may change my request if this is true.

Can anyone tell me how long it takes to get from CSR to Downtown Disney? We did not make it there on our last trip. We plan on having lunch and doing some shopping. Any suggestions on places to eat or special shops to visit is appreciated. Thank you.

We have never taken the bus there, so I can't say how long. It takes us about 15 minutes to drive and park.

We ate at Earl of Sandwich for the first time and it was OUTSTANDING!!!!

We love the World of Disney -- the main store with separate rooms (men, princesses, toys, etc.), the Christmas store, the create your own t-shirt, Lego store, Basin (bath soaps, etc.).

Unfortunately, transportation to/from DTD seems to be the most-complained-about route throughout WDW. The buses just don't seem to run as often as the park buses do, and with DTD being on the edge of Disney property, it's just not really a short trip. If you get lucky and get a DTD bus right off at the CSR bus-stop, it'll be somewhere between 15-25 minutes to drive there. Sometimes the DTD buses also go to Typhoon Lagoon, so you may have a stop there on the way. The last time we took the bus back to CSR from DTD, we got on the bus at the DTD area, then there was another stop at the Westside area, and then a new driver took over and it took a few minutes for that transition to occur. I know it was more than 30 minutes to get back to CSR from DTD. So, plan accordingly.

I will say that the trip to DTD is worth some aggravation, though. We usually do most of our souvenir shopping at World of Disney - they have everything! I also love to browse in the Christmas shop and kitchen shop. My husband cannot get out of Disney Pin Traders without buying at least 3-4 pins. And the Lego store is my boys' favorite place to go -- they start asking about going to the Lego store before we even check into the resort! They like Once Upon a Toy too, especially building all the Mr. Potato Heads.

We also like Earl of Sandwich - very good food and it's a CS credit on the dining plan, if you're using one. We ate at Pollo Campero (I think I have the name right) on our last trip and we enjoyed that, too. The T-Rex Cafe is a neat place to eat, but overpriced even by Disney standards, IMO. And dessert at Ghirardelli's is soooo good.

Have a great trip!

While I had an opportunity, I wanted to wish ALL of you a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Hi guys!

I just joined the disboards and am very excited!:yay:

I just wanted to give a HUGE thank you to everyone here. Our first onsite vacation was in February and we chose to stay at the Coronado Springs Resort. I spent countless hours (and years :) )reading through your posts and immediately knew this was the resort we wanted for our first stay.

We were not disappointed at all! We LOVED LOVED LOVED it! We are a family of 4-myself, dh, ds (5) and dd (6). I requested Cabanas 8A and we got a lovely corner room. It was so close to the digsite and an easy walk over the bridge to the foodcourt as well as it was close to the bus stop.

I did read some negative reviews about the pepper market as well as the size of the resort. But to be honest, we did not find it too spread out at all. I loved that it felt like a vacation within our vacation when we got back to our resort. We also loved the set up of the Pepper Market and found the people working there very friendly. I found the ordering of food to be very easy as well!

I can't thank you guys enough (especially KATMARK). Thanks again, and I look forward to reading more of your great posts!

Jen

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Thanks for your answers about buses for Downtown Disney. Sounds like it could take a bit to get back and forth. I'll plan on that. Oh well, it will be worth it. My neice and her family moved to the area last January and we are meeting them for lunch and shopping. I'm looking forward to our visit. All of the suggested places to eat and shop are on my list. It's hard to decide with so many good choices.

I have been wanting to post for a long time! I feel like I know you guys! Thanks to your help I knew exactly which section I wanted to request:)

Just wanted to see my ticker! It looks like it was one day off. It's showing me already in WDW.:rotfl: Don't I wish! I'll be checking in and printing my boarding pass in a few hours, catching a flight out of Big D bright and early tomorrow morning at 6:15am CT, and should be at CSR by 10:30am ET. Wish me luck getting into my beloved Cabanas (or at least staying out of the dreaded Ranchos).:rotfl:

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!:grouphug:

Have a great time! I hope you get your request.

By this time tomorrow, dh and I will be on our way to Disney! We will be staying at ASMo our first night, then on to the Coronado the next morning. I'm hoping for a room in the Cabanas, too. We'll see what's left after the rest of you get there, LOL! Just 3 nights at CSR this trip, and then we are finally trying the Polynesian. (Hoping I don't "love" it!)
Just need to get through one more day of work, and then on to finishing up the packing--woo hoo! :yay:
