Yeah!!! That's awesome!!
Laurie congrats on the holiday tour and I SURE hope you are able to workout going in Feb! I would be bummed if I didn't get to see you!
Good luck on the move as well. When I was married to my first husband we moved like 14 times in the 8 years we were married including 3 times in one year that included moving EVERYTHING we owned from CA to WA and then moving from up north by Seattle to down south by Portland. So that was pretty much like the big move all over again. It was tough and I can honestly say I HATE moving! Shane and I have only lived in 3 houses in the almost 13 years we were married and the first two were a year each. But we/I have lived here since Shelby was born so almost 11 years. I know now that we are split eventually I am going to have to move into a smaller place cuz I can't afford the rent here but for now my parents are helping since they own the place. But I SO don't want to move and hope that if I DO have to move it again it will be for the LAST time!
So glad they still had spots available on the tour - I hate when I wait for a day to arrive and then when it does I completely forget...drives me crazy! I'm glad it worked out.
Good Luck on the move - such a big job and with many people to care for in the midst you'll be extra tired but ready for your Disney break in a couple weeks.
Take care!
Just think when you get all settled into the house and the hard work is done, the trip will be upon you and there will be time for relaxing and fun. (great now Dr. Seuss is creeping into my adult conversations). Been working on reading skills with my youngest and rhyming words are great for word recognition. Anyway I can't wait to hear all about your trip. My Disney vacation for 2011 never came to be so I will make the journey through your trip report. Shhhhh don't tell anyone but I spent 4 hours the other day reading your 4000 picture trip report instead of studying and felt like I was on vacation with you . So I am looking forward to your Christmas report and hearing about the Christmas tour and hearing if the expense is worth it.
Kris
Well Laurie I totally get what you mean about the trip. I hope it works out be totally understand about not taking the family. We really prob shouldn't be going on our two trips BUT this one next month is totally bargain basement. We got that really cheap airfare, are staying in a super cheapo room and will not be doing any big fancy meals or any extras. Just looking forward to seeing the stuff that comes with the ticket like fireworks, small world etc and we leave 1 month from tomorrow so like you I can't WAIT!
Hope things start going smoother on your move and I agree with smiles. Once you get all moved in I am sure you will have a lot of stress off your shoulders and heck it will be time for your trip then!!
I'll be glad to be done with all the moving stuff....the packing & unpacking can be a project, but I think making all the arrangements is more of a pain: transfering schools (elementary & early intervention & all the paperwork that goes with that), starting & stopping utilities (only one was a transfer), getting the new place up to snuff to do the move in & then having to get the old place up to snuff so my parents don't get caught up in the crossfires of our psycho mgmt company since they had to co-sign. Moving truck rental, picking up much needed replacement furniture, etc, etc. Oh the biggest issue I'm having is I gave the adoption asst my new address which means I have to make a change with our Oregon Health Plan insurance for the kids. Since we're changing counties, we supposedly can't keep our dr for the kids....well that went over like a lead balloon....so now trying to fight that so we can keep the kids pediatrician.......ack! December 5th is the big day.....we turn in keys to the old place.....then & only then will things start settling.......as soon as we're out of the old place!!! My trip Dec 6-8 is ideally timed to celebrate!!!
Wow. The kids changing schools and a new pediatrician ugh! With the kids special needs and their trouble of overstimulation maybe you can convince them that changing pediatricians now would not be beneficial and could possibly even harmful for Machayla due to her recent problems. See if you can get the pediatriacian to support you not having to switch, couldn't hurt to get him involved if your willing to drive.
We're working with the pediatrician to be able to continue care of the kids.....it's just frustrating that since it's a state run insurance that I don't get a say in this process!! They're my kids & I want the best I can get them....even if it is medicaid!!
Anyways......hoping things will pan out over the next few days.
I am glad to see you back!! I'm sorry to hear about the other stuff but I have missed you.
Thanx Michele!! It will be so nice when we're done with the old place & can get the new place the way we want it. It's come together really nicely already.....too bad I have more crap that needs to come over.....lol
