Wow this guys really hates Aulani and Disney. I don't get it.

I thought Aulani was great and Disney does a great job too. I just don't get his beef.

That video was nearly incomprehensible and was completely illogical (complaining about the lack of authenticity of the resort while he mangles the pronunciation of each Hawaiian word). It's a good strategy though to gain more viewers - say things really inflammatory and watch as people click through the video to leave irritated comments.

I'm really not surprised as I have found after five trips to Hawaii that native Hawaiians have a deep respect for their culture and the depiction of Hawaiians........hence no Lilo there. I just returned from Aulani and feel it is now the best resort on the islands. Very friendly, helpful, and full of the Aloha spirit. My only complaint was the quality and the availability of food choices. When they open the whole resort I just don't see how they will be able to accommodate everyone. I can foresee the pools and beach being extremely crowded. I loved my one bedroom ocean view, the spa, Rainbow Reef, Starlit Hui, and the character breakfast the best. I wish there were more food options in the area. We got a lot of food from the deli in the ABC affiliated store in the Ko Olina shopping mall and pre made wraps and cheese plates in the Aulani store in the lobby.

It was nice, but because it is so remote we'll continue to stay at the Halekulani. We might do a few nights there, but we'll still spend the majority of our time on Oahu in Waikiki, or occasionally the Kahala.

I think that's true of a lot of people who are native Hawaiian. However, there is also a fairly widespread racism perspective from those who consider themselves native Hawaiian, not all but many. There is also a fairly large subgroup of residents who are simply anti development no matter the specifics or benefits. This guy seems to be more of the latter plus he's simply anti Disney and anti business. He's an idiot, but not because he's anti Disney.

Except for the opening Chinese characters - that made me think that he's not. None of his arguments really made any sense - anti-Disney, anti-business, anti-tourism, whatever.
