Disney Dream 8th January 2012

I guess it is time to start thinking about FE gifts for this cruise!

2 months to go!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay:

Started thinking about FEs, but this is our first Disney cruise, so we are not sure what to bring along. Have read thru many forums on the topic. Is there anything that people really hate receiving as a FE? We are not sure if we will bring a room one or do individual ones. My partner has given me the task of the FEs - have to start planning...

See you all soon!
Don
from Minnesota where we are finally expecting our first snow of the year tonight - people in the East Coast of the US and Colorado have been luckier than us :)

We did our 1st FE on our Alaskan cruise and I don't think there is any such thing as a bad FE gift! My children enjoyed running down the hall to peek inside our "mailboxes" to discover treasures. I was BLOWN AWAY by all the creativity of our fellow passengers, but appreciated little sweet treats to munch between meals, too!

Walt's Wife

me neither |!!!!!!!!!!!!

So sorry - I can't PM you because I don't have enough posts!!!

Please update our family's info to the FE list for the 4 night Bahamanian sailing on 8 Jan 2012 DREAM.

7154 = Kristy + girl (10), girl (8), girl (4)
7156 = Brett + boy (5)

We really enjoyed the FE experience and hope to learn from our previous cruise to make this one even better!!!

Thanks very much.

Anything is appropriate as an FE gift! Some folks get really creative, others just do something very simple. It is up to you. All is appreciated!

We have a stateroom, 5516 , darn it no Roy or Walt....

I have an FE question.. if we are assigned a room today that is posted on page 1 in the FE list, and we upgrade at the port, how do we let folks know what our new room number is?

Do you print the FE exchange room info before you leave?

--Heather

Usually, someone offers to have their room door as a message center for the group and will post any stateroom changes there. I would offer to be that person, but I am not sure that Scott will not end up upgrading at the port :confused3. I always print out the list just before I leave home.

Another option may be to have "change of address" cards ready. On one of our previous cruises we received an index card that had a preprinted message and then they added the new stateroom number to the card at the port. They just put one in every FE as they delivered their FE gifts on the first day. Just an idea!:thumbsup2

We are doing AKL for 2 nights before and POR after 5 nights after with DxDining.
Can't wait.

Question though: What size the Fish Extender be for the Dream?

I just checked the Kennedy site today and it is showing a launch on Jan 12 (the day we get off the boat):
From: http://kennedyspacecenter.com
SpaceX Falcon 9
January 12
A Falcon 9 rocket will launch Dragon C2, spacecraft designed to fly resupply missions to the International Space Station, on a proximity operations test flight.

After doing some digging, it looks like this launch was originally scheduled for December but has been pushed back. A number of other sites still has it listed as a December launch. The exact time of day is not listed yet.

I think it would be really neat to see a rocket launch firsthand once in a lifetime. I've had my hopes dashed a few times as we've been scheduled to board and/or get off the ship on days where there was supposed to be a launch only to have the launches rescheduled. We are less than 2 months out, so there is hope that date will stick.

On the downside, it may effect traffic for those trying to catch a plane or getting to the parks that day.
Jeff.

KEWL!!!! thanks Jeff, I really hope we can see it, launches are KEWL!!!, then I think about down range restriction and if that may affect us? I will try to keep an eye on this but please keep us informed. I guess I did not bother to check the NASA with the shuttle program closure.

Wow a launch would be great. We have tried to catch a few over the years and they always end up getting postponed. Fingers crossed! Maybe this is our year:goodvibes
