I was just informed by one of my DVC contacts that Disney is taking a hard stance on door and balcony decorations this year and they are not allowed. No info on how they intend to enforce the rule.

Here we go! Though I believe in Christmas and decorations I personally think that if you aren't at your house, they belong inside! Inside your villa, fine@ 1/2 hazard decorations here and there cheapen the look of the resorts.
This is my opinion, I realize others may feel differently!
Resort leaders offer holiday-decorating reminder
As Disney Parks and Resorts reflect the spirit of the season with a winter wonderland of holiday decorations, many Disney Vacation Club® Members are decorating their villas in similarly festive fashion.
While Disney Vacation Club welcomes the use of safe decorations that don't damage the finishes of the villa, resort leaders are reminding Members that all decorations should be contained within the villa interiors and therefore shouldn't extend to the balcony or other exterior areas.
This policy, included in Members' condominium documents, is designed to help preserve the carefully crafted architectural stories and visual themes for which Disney Parks and Resorts are famous.
Its not stopped people in the past, it won't stop people this year either.
And if Disney wants to start being a bad guy and start enforcing a DVC stay rule, how about penalizing people who fail to check-out and stay in their room until 3pm!
I say "Bah! Humbug!" Disney and I plan on putting my lights on the balcony at OKW when I arrive after Thanksgiving.
. . . . . . The honor policy does not work at the Happiest Place on Earth.
Don't forget your "service dog" in the closet! Or is that your X-Mas elf!Now excuse me; I have to go, I left my cigarettes out on the balcony . . .
