Legoland around Thanksgiving

I'll be in Orlando from Nov 24 to the 29th. I'm considering doing Legoland on Thanksgiving or the Friday after. This is probably a shot in the dark but any guess on crowd levels?

How have the crowds been since it opened?

I would also love to hear how the crowds have been. I am planning to take my boys next week, but with my 2 and 5 year old crowds can easily be a disaster. I'd assume Thanksgiving will be busy but it is hard to tell how busy??

I am also interested in this. I am toying with the idea of a day trip to Legoland during our Disney vacation. (Thanksgiving time)

Also, any good codes/coupons right now? The Lego Club magazine that came today had a great coupon, but it was for California only.

Well I went to the park on Oct 30. I arrived around 1p. The park actually extended the opening until 7p because it was so busy.

Also, the crowds were a bit higher because a lot of the people there were using the free tickets that were given out for the VIP members.

I do no have kids, but did check wait times. Most things were 45m wait time. We waited for 1 ride with a 30m post, we waited about 15m. The lines move VERY slow. Most rides have a limited capacity, so things take a while to get through. MiniLand had a lot of people in it, but still not as bad as it could have been. I saw a lot of ppl getting AP's, so not sure how many will be back during a time when kids are out of school locally.

I will be glad to answer any questions anyone has about the park

There is a Pepsi code for a free child ticket with an adult purchase. I'm sure it is on here somewhere.

I actually just bought our Legoland tickets last night. I found the Pepsi promo code on the Mouse Savers website. One free child ticket ($65 value) for a paying adult ticket ($75) You can use it up to 3 times in the same transaction but follow the instructions on how to. I bought 2 adults and got two kids tickets free. - you have to add one of each first and then the promo code, total it up so to speak and then continue shopping and go back and add another adult and child and the promo code again to get both kids free.

The tickets are good until May 31/2012

Air Miles also offers discounted tickets through a link on their website. Instead of $75 they are around $56

Looked at the mousesavers site and saw you can also use Aeroplan miles for an adult ticket (7500). Wish I saw this earlier as I'm leaving on Saturday, oh well.

I agree with this. We went last week. The parking lot was not even at half capacity but wait time for rides were over 30 minutes for just about everything.

The park is beautiful and my family did have a good time. I'm concerned about what wait times would be if the park was filled to capacity.

BTW, there is no bag check at Legoland Florida. The official policy says no outside food but we had no problem bringing in a small cooler of food. We even asked if it was okay to bring in the cooler and got an okay.

This is what I've been hearing and this concerns me a lot. Especially considering that this park is a bit of a drive from the Orlando area and has limited operating hours, so time is definitely a big factor.

For those of you going to Legoland around Thanskgiving break, could you please post when you return and let me know how the crowds are? We are going to WDW over Easter and at this time I am leaning toward not venturing to Legoland due to the potential for large crowds and "slow loading rides". We have become masters at doing WDW at rope drop and using FPs to avoid lines. I can't imagine getting to Legoland and being stuck in lines for 45-60 minutes for a majority of rides. I'd rather sit by the pool and take the kids another year when the crowds are lower if that is the case. But if you find that the lines aren't bad during Thanksgiving, I might be persuaded to change my mind.

I think I'm to try tomorrow (Thanksgiving) if the weather is good. Beautiful day in Miami right now so it's looking good.

I went October 25th and as far as the parking lot,I would be surprised to see it ever fill to capacity. They built a brand new parking lot suitable for a Disney park,it's huge.I remember going to Cypress Gardens and the old parking lot was probably 1/3 the size of what they have now. When I went it wasn't crazy crowded but it was a beautiful day and there was a decent sized crowd. One thing I did notice is that some attractions like the Coastersaurus just don't have very big capacities, that ride only has 1 train and if adults are riding it's basically 1 adult per seat as two don't fit.On my visit it was fine as I got there early and the most we waited was about 25 minutes for the wave racers, everything else was 10 minutes or less.I however did see a recent photo trip report of the park and they had the Test Track coaster with a 120 minute wait, was there anyone there recently that can confirm this huge wait?I would be amazed if this was accurate as the crowds must have been ridiculous for a wait that long. The park is beautiful and a definite must do,I was super impressed on my visit.

We are headed there tomorrow. Im hoping its not too crowded. My son has been anxiously awaiting his birthday trip to Legoland..:cool1:

Try to stay until the park closes. One the day I went the place started to empty out at 4PM and we were able to get 3 or 4 rides in the last hour. Coastersaurus was walk on by 4:30.

We went on Tuesday of Thanksgiving week and I was not impressed. Several rides were not running at full capacity which made for long waits (45-60 min) and terribly long food service lines at lunchtime. I heard some other customers who were irate at Brickbeards, so I left the end of the line and went back to the hot dog stand near Driving School. Also in the Minifigure shop the figure parts were not replenished and there was nobody staffing the area like you see in the Disney build-your-own sections. Everything is just poorly run in comparison with Disney. However my boys age 4 and 6 did enjoy the attractions we did (Driving School, Boating School, Coastersaurus, Safari, Duplo area, water ski show) so it was only dissatisfaction on the parents' part. Luckily we got the Pepsi promo so I didn't feel overly assaulted in the pocketbook.

I would still recommend if your kids are big Lego fans (mine are) and research which rides are the most important so you can hit those in the morning. Lunch and shopping are big PITAes so be prepared for that.

Also, the crowds were not so heavy that it seemed crowded while walking around (like at DW with heavy crowds) but the problem was with the poor management of the volume of people that were there.

One thing I have mixed reactions on is the food, the market restaurant supposedly their biggest restaurant I just wasn't too impressed at their offerings. We ordered a soup there and the piece of bread they give you with the soup was TINY!!There was a sandwich restaurant by the ski show that never opened, there were people sweeping in there at 11am through like 4pm,I had no idea what they were sweeping or mopping but it lasted hours, and the place was closed. The park map also had listed a chicken restaurant that I never saw on my visit,I just saw on someones photo trip report that the place still hasn't opened. With those two restaurants not open the choices were either the Market restaurant, the pizza buffet place and the two burger places.I had the double burger at the Castle burger and it was a good burger,no doubt about that, the line was short and really slow but at least it was good. The apple fries were also good, seemed to me apples mix good with caramel, they serve them with a cream but they would be so much better with caramel.I also heard there was supposed to be a BBQ place that was to be located by Coastersaurus but I don't know if they cancelled it or have plans for it in tje future.

We went on Thanksgiving day and pretty much walked on everything. I think my boys rode the dragon roller coaster ten times in a row. Mostly Europeans there since it was Thanksgiving. We had a great time and this is a great park for little kids. We also ate at the burger joint in the castle section. The food was pretty good and a good value.
