How difficult do you think it would be to get an OKW GV for the week prior to christmas week at 7 months out?

We are in the planning stages for our 2014 vacation and we won't have enough points for a GV at our home resort. We will probably book a 2 br at our home resort at 11 months and then try to switch at 7 months.

Grand villas at OKW are very difficult to book. The week before Christmas is probably next to impossible at seven months.

We bought OKW points for the express purpose of booking a grand villa every now and then.

It is possible...I've got a GV at OKW reserved for December 1-5 this year. I couldn't switch at 7 months, but my waitlist came through within a month or two. I had reserved a 2 bedroom and studio at my home resort just in case. Good luck!

The WEEK before Christmas....I'd say pretty slim at 7 months, but a waitlist MIGHT work.

Thanks for the insight. i think we'll try and book a SV studio and SV 2br at 11 months. It's probably better if my parents have their own room anyway

Can you request that the rooms be near each other if they are on the same reservation?

Yes you can, and some have reported that they are pretty much guaranteeing it lately. We've done that in the past and had great success at OKW.
