Do any of the akl standard views have partial views of the savannah?

If not, do any have views of the pool?

I'm waiting for my points to post, and am trying to get a good strategy ready for my first call.

Thanks!

Tom

I think I've heard that some of the standard rooms at Jambo might have a savanna view.

We were there last December and had a split stay between Jambo House and Kidani Village. With the exception of our last night, which was a Savanna View room, we had standard view rooms from which we could see the pool, but that might have been the luck of the draw since other standard view rooms could easily have been looking at a parking lot.

Standard view at Jambo House IS the pool. Some may have a slight view of the savanna. At Kidani Village, the standard view is parking lot and pool (through the parking lot).

I just talked to a CM, and they didn't seem to know what they were talking about. You have always given good advice, so I'm going to do standard at Jambo. It's our first full trip, and I'd like to do something safe. We know we like Jambo, so Jambo it is!

Thanks again for your help!

Tom

We stayed for one night in a standard view at Jambo house in October. Maybe we got lucky, but our view was nothing but savanna. We don't own at AKL, so we aren't familiar with the layout of the resort. But we definitely watched all sorts of animals from our balcony. :confused3

did you request anything, or did you just take a chance?

We planned the trip 6 weeks out, so we had three nights at three different resorts. We took what we could get! :goodvibes We didn't request anything; we arrived to the resort around 2:30 and our room was ready. I have no idea if we got extra magic or not, but we were thrilled. We loved our first (albeit short) stay at AKL.

I stayed in a standard room at Jambo House from October 11-16th. Our room was considered "partial" savannah. We had a great view with a very quiet area and close to the stairs right down to the lobby. All I requested when doing online check-in was "close to transportation." We couldn't have been more thrilled with our room or view! We even had an Elan that slept right below us every night.

This was the view from our Jambo Standard view studio in May. It was one of the reclassified savannah view rooms. I of course had been hoping for the pool view! :lmao:

Standard View at Jambo used to mean "pool view" until a year or so ago when some of the Savanna View rooms at Jambo were reclassified as Standard View rooms. These were rooms where the view of the savanna was limited or obstructed in some way. KAT4DISNEY's photos show that many of these rooms have a great view of the animals for a Standard View price!
