1 br: Kidani or Jambo?

We booked a week in 1 bedroom savanna view in Kidani. Is Jambo House a better choice? What are the differences between the 1 bedroom villas at Kidani and Jambo?

The Kidani Village 1-bedroom will have 2 full baths where the 1-bedrooms in Jambo House only have 1 bath. The Kidani Village 1br is approx 100 sq feet larger.

Only Jambo House has quick service dining.

Thanks for the info!

I'm thinking of keeping our Kidani reservation. With 3 adults and 2 kids, we'll definitely need the 2 bathrooms!

The Master Bathroom is also SO much nicer at Kidani than at Jambo & it's also adjoined to the Master Bedroom which at Jambo it is not. There's a little corridor type thing inbetween with the Laundry closet & there's no door separating the corridor from the main living room area so privacy could be a bit of an issue. :teeth:

Heres a link to the Jambo House Villas Layout (Studio, 1br & 2br): http://advc.disney.go.com/media/dvc_v0302/languagespecific/eng/resorts/animalKingdomVillas/floorPlans/floorplan_dakv_jambostudio1Bedroom2Bedroom.jpg
(Note the Master Bathroom is seperated by the corridor i mentioned from the Master Bedroom).

Thanks for the links! I love the Kidani layout.
We're so excited about our first AKV stay.

The shower is not separated from the tub in the master bedroom at Jambo House. Those were converted hotel rooms and they couldn't make them work to have a separate shower.

Kidani seems like a better option since there are 5 of us staying in the 1 bedroom.

We just returned from Kidani yesterday. I was so impressed! We stayed at a 2 bedroom in the Pumba section. I loved having the parking garage right under us, it was great for MIL who uses a cane. If you are not driving you might want to ask for a room close to the bus area. It is a long walk for little legs. DD4 also loved the pool and splash area at Kidani better than at Jambo.

We're going to be staying for our very first DVC home resort stay next september. We were booked into Jambo, but after seeing this thread, I called and changed our ressies to Kidani.

I have 3 daughters! ;)

One bathroom? Not a great 'long' vacation if you ask me! :lmao:

so, a heartfelt Thank You!

CoolMom

We've stayed in both.

Jambo is more convenient to quick service dining and to Boma.

Kidani's rooms are FAR superior. It isn't even close. Not only are there two bathrooms, but the master bath in Kidani is better than the sole bathroom in Jambo. Not to mention the park buses load at Kidani before Jambo.

We aren't ever going back to Jambo. Kidani is not just home, it's an awesome home. IMO, best 1BR villas on property.

What about studios? DH and I are seriously considering doing a split stay next year BLT and AK and not sure whether to go Jambo or Kidani. We'd like a savannah view at either one. Which has the best pool? Can you use the pool at AK if you are staying at Jambo or Kidani? Can you use any of the AK DVC pools if you are staying at either of the two DVC's at AKL?

The Animal Kingdom is one resort with two buildings. You can use the amenities at both buildings regardless of which you are staying in.

The only difference in the studios at AKV is the layout of the bathroom. They are only about 1 sq foot difference in size (except for Value Studios which only exist in Jambo House which are about 50 sq feet smaller).

At Jambo House, the tub/shower combo and toilet are seperated from the sink area by a door. Layout: http://advc.disney.go.com/media/dvc...s/floorPlans/akv_jambo_house_deluxestudio.jpg

At Kidani Village, the tub/shower is located next to the sink. To have privacy when using the tub, you have to close off the entire bathroom. Layout: http://advc.disney.go.com/media/dvc...Villas/floorPlans/AKV-kidani-deluxestudio.jpg

Our first stay at Kidani, DH is walking around the one-bedroom, see's the master bath and says, I must be losing it, I thought I already saw the bathroom. :lmao:
I never told him about the 2nd bathroom.

I would pick Kidani if you have a car, or kids. The parking is 10000 times better at Kid. and the pool is so kid friendly. A play land, water guns, baby and adult slide.

If you have neither, then I would pick Jambo, for conv to resturants, quieter pool, and the extra bath doesn't matter.

I was following your thread over on the resorts board, what did you end up deciding on for your trip? All AKV or a split stay?

If we do all one resort, it will probably be BLT as CR is our very favorite resort. We thought about doing a split at first with BLT and BCV since Epcot is our favorite park...BUT this is shaping up to be one of those trips of a lifetime so we thought maybe we should seize the opportunity (with our uncle's points) to try a resort we probably will never have a chance to stay at...Kidani/Jambo. We have already stayed at BC in 2005 on our honeymoon, so a room at the AKV would be an entirely new experience (and we LOVE BOMA).

We have a car so hopping over to any park on a whim is no biggie. So it just comes down to what will be available in February when we have his uncle go to book.

Thanks for all of the info!
With 2 kids and 3 adults, a Kidani 1 bedroom is the best option for us. And since we rent a car, it will work out. We can just drive or take the bus over to Jambo. We are so used to having 2 bathrooms from previous stays at BLT, it may be hard to just have one bathroom for the week. DVC has spoiled me! :rotfl:

Sounds AWESOME! We went through the same process. When we first contemplated renting DVC points, we honed in on BLT because we loved  our stay at CR in October. But I decided I wanted to try something totally new and with a totally different feel, so we're gonna go the AKV route. I'm soooo excited to try the resort next October!

We're just back from our Kidani visit and it a family favorite! Another plus is Kidani is usually the first stop and pick up on the bus route.
