Adding dining plan at check-in?

I know dining plan must be added and paid for before 48 hours of checking in. We are renting points for our upcoming trip and our check in day is on Sunday. I have been emailing and calling the guy we're renting from for days and he is not responding. He was supposed to set up a 3 way call with us and Disney to get the dining taken care of. I'm getting really frusterated. I tried calling Disney and of course they won't talk to me because I'm not the DVC member. We're now past the 48 hour mark. Has anybody ever had luck adding the dining plan at check-in? Is there anything I can do at this point?

Not possible. The member must add it for you at least 48 hours before and it must be paid for at that time. You cannot add it when you arrive. You'll need to purchase your dining OOP this time.

It really stinks that the member you rented from is being unresponsive. Having said that, why did you wait till the last minute to try to add the DDP? It's one thing if you are the member and can call at your leisure, but when you are renting and are relying on someone else, better to give at least a few days cushion. Lesson learned, I guess.

Your Tagline says "November 2011 - Carribbean Beach Resort/Animal Kingdom Villas". I'm making some board assumptions here since we don't know your reservation plan, please feel free to correct me. Is this all one trip that you're about to begin in 48 hrs? If so, each segment will be a different Dining plan. I'm assuming CBR is a cash reservation, booked on your own and and AKV is on points booked through the member you're having trouble getting a hold of.

If CBR is your 1st stay, followed by an AKV stay... You may be too late to add the DDP to the CBR reservation. How did you book this? If through Disney directly, you need to call them.

--But your AKV stay, as the start of a 'new' stay might have a little time here to add it. You need to have the DDP added before the 48 hr mark there. When do you swap resorts and check into the villas?

We actually check in tomorrow at CBR, but only 1 night. We booked the week at AKV and then decided to go the afternoon before because we got a better price on flights, but by this time our room was booked and we couldn't add the extra night so we booked there. We didn't get the dining plan for the first night, but was hoping to have it the rest of the trip once we checked in at ak. He did get back to me tonight, he's going to try calling first thing tomorrow. Not a big deal though. If this is the worst thing that happens, I'll consider myself lucky!

How are you going to pay for it? He must give a credit card or something when he adds it.
