Pool hopping

I know you can pool hop with a couple of exceptions. Can someone list them for me please

When staying on your Membership at Disney's Vero Beach Resort or any DVC Resort at the Walt Disney World Resort, you and any Guests staying with you are permitted to use most of the other Disney Vacation Club and Walt Disney World Resort hotel pools (in addition to the pool at the resort hotel at which you are staying) if they are not at capacity. If the pool you are visiting reaches capacity, you may be asked to leave in order to accommodate Guests of that resort hotel. Please check with a host or hostess at the front desk of the resort you wish to visit before you go to find out about pool-access availability. You must present your current Key to the World card with your "DVC Member" designation on it to use the other resort hotel pools.




Pool hopping is not available at Bay Cove Pool at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, Uzima Pool and Samawati Springs Pool at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Stormalong Bay at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, and the leisure pool at Disney's Beach Club Villas. There are no exceptions to this policy. As a reminder, during times of high occupancy, please be mindful of the limited number of pool chairs available, and refrain from leaving towels or personal items on unoccupied pool chairs.




Resort hotel pools may become unavailable from time to time due to capacity limitations. Due to the high occupancy that is expected, Disney Vacation Club Members and any Guests staying with them may not pool hop during the following dates*:




•February 20-26 (Sun – Sat)
•April 16 – April 30 (Sat – Sat)
•May 27 – 30 (Fri – Mon)
•June 26 – July 5 (Sun – Tue)
•September 2 – 5 (Fri – Mon)
•November 21 – 27 (Mon – Sun)
•Dec 11, 2011 – Jan 1, 2012 (Sun – Sun)


*Other restricted dates may be added based on projected pool capacity

I saw that in the DVC magazine thingy and was hoping I was misreading. I guess not. We are going to be staying at OKW from 12/20 to 12/26 with 1 SIL and her family as well as MIL and FIL. Other SIL and her family are staying at SSR. I was hoping we could all meet up at OKW pool or SSR pool, but I guess not.

While staying at The BCV and AKL can you have guest at these pools.

I am staying at the BCV and my brother is staying at AKL ...can our famlies visit each other and swim at the pool.

That is pool hopping and since it is not allowed at either resort the offical policy is no you cannot visit and swim with each other.

better to spend a day at blizzard beach or something if you are not staying at the same resort...

BCV you must show your key and they scan it, and give you a wrist band...seriously, there is no possibility to pool hop here.

When enterting Stormalong Bay the Cast Members working at their entrances don't scan your Key To The World cards, at least they didn't when I stayed at the Beach Club this past August. All they do is read the code at the bottom of them to make sure the guests are staying at the Yacht Club/Beach Club/Beach Club Villas.

They were scanning...asked and they were trying something new...as people were getting their wrist band and passing room key off to visiting friends...the pool is that popular. Sort of like they used to do for late magic hours...one wrist band per room key.

The pool was the first reason we bought there...

Unless there is available room occupancy and you can legally get the other family a set of KTTW's for OKW.. (But that does not work well if you have a dining plan)

That would be pool hopping because they are two different resorts. Not permitted. Sorry.

Pool hopping IS permitted and is used as a selling point. It's just not permitted at busy/peak seasons and that's when we'll be going...so we won't be pool hopping...I know. I was unaware it wasn't permitted at busy/peak seasons until recently and I'm bummed. However, we probably won't be using the pool too much anyway...since it'll be December and chilly...heated water or no....brrrrr!

it is pretty tiny pool for the size of BLT.

CR is much, much, much bigger. so far CR is not on the list.
