"There’s NO Sleeping in Disney!” SURPRISE - The Frumps Are Back Again! UPDATE 1/13

So hello! This is a monumental moment for me because... this is my first time ever posting on the Disboards. I only discovered them like a couple months ago, and have only been lurking since. And when I say lurking... it's like major lurking. I have read SO many trip reports already, including all of yours (and Kristen's... and Allie's...)! To be honest I don't even remember how I came across yall's TRs but I'm glad I did, they're so much fun! So I'm finally up to date on this one, and thought I would post some thoughts! So hopefully I don't blab too much, and bore you to death.

1. First of all, I feel like I would be besties with you and your friends if we were the same age, SLASH lived in the same state. HA! Basically Disney= life. It's the way to be. DUH.

2. I'm SO glad you changed your mind about Tiana! I love her! She and Rapunzel are now in my top favorite princesses and their movies are amazing. It's nice that Disney can keep making classics for the new generations! Don't worry though, I'm sure there were people who didn't like Ariel or Belle at first because they thought they were invading on Snow White, Aurora, and Cinderella's territory. (What a weird thought!)

3. Okay so I don't have as many thoughts as I thought I would ha! So I'll just say... this TR so far is awesome! The surprise was so fun to read about (and watch! I love the videos!) So I guess now I'll just have to become a frequent poster and keep up. Sorry my comment was so long!

P.S. Your TRs make me excited to attempt to write my own after my December trip! YAY.

Chapter 14: A Fantasmic Night!
August 20th, 2011
Then it was time for Kristen to have her moment.... we were going to MUPPET VISION 3-D!

While we waited in line, the lady next to me had a frozen lemonade that just looked SO GOOD. I had to have one. I asked her where it was so I could go get one for myself. I believe it was from Anaheim Produce.

YUM! It was delicious! The only problem with me is that I can NEVER finish drinks like that. As I have probably said before, I'm basically a water drinker. And that's it. So, what I had of the lemonade was really good... even though I probably only drank about a third. Oh well!

The princess floats were RIGHT in front of us! It was amazing.

The show was fantastic. I haven't seen it since... my freshman year of high school ago? Wow, that's such a long time. I'M SORRY FANTASMIC!

You know what I concluded? Fantasmic has sort of a 90's flare to it. Like... for example, don't the Lion King animals just seem so 90's? Maybe it's just the pattern on their costumes. And also, the music they play in the queue area is all 90's too. (Mambo No. 5 aww yeah.)

Another great thing about Fantasmic is that a whole section of it is dedicated to Pocahontas! I've never been a huge fan of that movie (I don't even know if I have ever watched the entire thing) but some people absolutely love it. I feel like it doesn't get the credit it deserves because nothing is Pocahontas themed anymore. But hey, Fantasmic is still representing. Way to go Fantasmic.

I forgot how scary this show is at some parts! The villain section is pretty intense! I'm immune to some scary things at Disney (like Dinosaur or Expedition Everest) but since I haven't seen Fantasmic in a few years, I was feeling the fear!

"It's Another HAlloween Here in the Fabulous 40's..."

Oh wait, just kidding. It's 2011. I just like that part of Carousel of Progress hehe And he said "hAlloween" just like Kristen. Accent on the A.

I hope you all are having a spooktacular day! I, personally, am being lame and I'm being frump all night. No judgements please haha. I had to wake up early to go back to school this morning and I'm just so tired! I need to go to sleep LOL

Anyways... I thought I'd share a couple halloween pictures with you all before the update to show you how I celebrated the holiday!

I painted my nails last week perfectly themed for halloween - they're candy corn nails! They're super simple: just a stripe of yellow on the bottom, a stripe of orange, and then a stripe of white on top! Everyone thinks they're so cute haha.

This past weekend I went with Vickie and Dan to visit our friends Kevin, Korl, Sam, and others at their college. We got to dress up, and Vick and I were cowgirls! On the second night, I was a cat and Vickie was a Referee. We had a lot of fun and it was great to all be together!

Last night we had a nice dinner for my Dad's birthday! He was born on Halloween (today!) but since I was home last night, we celebrated! We had a delicious dinner of chicken quesadillas, fruit, salad, and pumpkin mousse! It was all FANTASTIC. Especially the mousse! That's actually a Weight Watchers recipe that my Mom found... and dang, it was delicious.

I also got to carve my pumpkin! I went online and found a pluto stencil, so that was my design! I think he turned out pretty good! I love carving Disney pumpkins! Of course, we ended off the night by making Pumpkin seeds, which are pictured above. YUM!

Now it's the actual day of Halloween and I am just pooped! I'm basically going to write this update, maybe start my research paper, and then probably just go to sleep! I'm so lame, I'm sorry! I guess just celebrated in advance, that's all!

And the worst part about this is that I've only eaten one piece of candy today! And it was a snickers. A MINI snickers!! That might have to change before I go to bed LOL.

Alright, anyways, I hope you enjoyed the mini halloween update. Now onto the Trip Report!

Chapter 15: "Everything Smells Good Here!"
August 21st, 2011

We set our wake up call for 6:10 am this day! Insane, right? Well, it was a Sunday and we needed to go to church. I usually don't go in Disney (I'm so sorry, God!) but Nat is very dedicated to going to mass, so we worked it in the schedule. Mass was at 7:30 am, so we had to get up and go!

I answered the wake up call at 6:10.... and I fell asleep with the phone in my hand! I didn't even listen to the recording! AHH!

By the time I opened my eyes and looked at the clock, it was 6:45 am! SHOOT! We had to be out the door at 7!

I told Kristen and Nat was time it was and they jumped out of bed!

We all got ready INSANELY fast. It was slightly hilarious. I didn't even have time to shower, I just had to stick my head under the faucet and wash my hair.

We all brushed our teeth like madmen and didn't even have time to do our make up!

I think we made it outside a few minutes after 7, which was okay! We got in the car, and I did about half of my make up. It was too bumpy to do the complete procedure haha

We drove to the church that is right outside of Disney Property. It felt SO weird to be driving in a car and leaving Disney grounds in the middle of the trip! AHH I never ever ever do that!

We arrived just on time for church, even though our directions were a little hard to follow.

Mass started at 7:30 am. I was so tired though... I was zoning out SO bad. Once again, I'm sorry God. Please forgive me.

Mass ended at 8:31 am. We got a little lost on the way back, but soon enough we were back on Disney Property. - breathes a sigh of relief -

We got back to Coronado Springs and we parked at El Centro.

Can we just talk about how much I love that it's called El Centro?! It's just so fun to call it that. "Hey, I'm going to El Centro!" So much better than "the main area" or something boring like that.

We went to Cafe Rix for a quick breakfast.

I got a Ham, Egg, and Cheese Croissant. I have been wanting one of those for SO LONG. I always see food pictures of them and they always just look so delicious. It did not disappoint!

Nat got a Chocolate Chip Muffin. I always call this the "Pretty Muffin Picture." Doesn't it look pretty, though!? I think it does.

We ate outside and enjoyed our breakfast.

Once we finished, we drove back to the room and we put the rest of our make up on.

Then it was time to go!

We got to the bus stop and the Epcot bus was there within minutes. We hopped aboard and entered Epcot a little after 10 am. Not too bad!

Kristen, Nat, Sarah, and I went straight to Soarin' to get Fastpasses. We were bookin' it.

Kristen and I were very excited to go into The Land because it just smells SO GOOD! We actually videotaped the moment of us taking our first whiff. Ahh such a great, heavenly Disney smell. ♥ It's one of my absolute favorites.

Our fastpass times were for between 2:00 and 3:00 pm. Not too shabby!

Our plan was to get in the Standby line for Test Track... but the line was 70 MINUTES LONG! Uh... No thanks.

We ditched that idea and went over to Mission: SPACE.

It was the green side for us today!

It was Nat, Scott, and Sarah's first time on it! Nat was really scared because she's claustrophobic, but she went on it anyway.

I learned something new in this experience and I thought I'd share it with you all. If you are nervous about riding Mission: SPACE, ask the cast member if they can lower the screen for you before the ride so you can see how much room you have. That way, if you are claustrophobic, you can have sort of an idea how far away the screen will be from your face ahead of time.

Nat thought the test was okay, so she proceeded to ride!

Since we had 5 people, we had to split up into two groups. Nat, Scott, and Sarah rode together, and Kristen and I rode together.

Kristen and I were in Line 7, I was the commander, and she was the engineer.

Kristen put her sunglasses in the barf bag holder (don't worry it was empty!) and we had to make a mental note to grab those before we left.

We rode the ride, got off, and everyone really enjoyed it! Nat was happy she survived!

Then.... Kristen realized she left her sunglasses in the ride! Shoot!

We ran back in the gift shop and asked the cast members for help. The guy sent us back through the exit.

The one Cast Member remembered us rom waiting in line because Nat was scared. She was probably talking to him.

Thankfully, since we're neurotic disers, Kristen remembered what line we were in and what seat she was sitting in. So that definitely helped!

We had to wait for the ride to finish.

So we talked to a Cast Member while we waited. We told him where we were from, and he got all excited! He told another Cast Member where we were from, and he was excited too! He must have been a local.

The one who was from our area told us "Hey, I have a present for you girls!" We thought he was going to give us stickers or something, but then he pulled out TEST TRACK FASTPASSES! Oh my GOD!!! Our problem was solved, because we had no idea how we were going to get on Test Track! That line was just too long!

We actually asked him if we could get 2 extra Fastpasses for Kristen's parents, and he was totally fine with it! That made our day - it was such a magical moment!

The CM's said we were like the Kardashians. I'm guessing they were referring to the dark brown hair lol. (Speaking of which, Kim got divorced today. 72 days of marriage was too much for her, huh? What a shame.)

Anyways, the ride was finally done and we took a picture with the Cast Member who gave us our Fastpasses! Yay! Thank you, kind sir!

Sadly, my camera was acting really funky this morning, so it came out a little blurry. I accidentally changed a focus setting to manual instead of automatic, and I didn't figure out what was wrong until way later. So sorry about the quality.

We said thank you a bunch of times and then we left Mission: SPACE. We met up with Sue at Innoventions and decided to use our fastpasses for Test Track!

You don't see this lovely little combination in your hand every day, now do ya?!

On our way over, I tried to fix my focus settings. It worked okay in the daylight!

We got in line for Test Track! WOOHOO!

Soon enough we were in our cars!

NO DANCING ON THE RIDE!

We danced!

It was lots of fun! It was Sue's first time on Test Track! She does not do thrill rides at all so she wasn't a huge fan, but we were glad she went on anyways!

Here's our ride picture! The plan was that me, Nat, and Kristen would be sleeping, and then Scott, Sarah, and Sue would act all worried that we fell asleep at the wheel! Unfortunately, Scott and Sarah forgot to pose hahaha. Oh well! And Kristen remembered to pose a little too late, so she's in the middle of posing. But it just looks like she's talking in her sleep... which is normal for her to do anyway.

We exited into the Test Track dump shop, and I saw this miniature monorail display. I told Kristen to stand in front of it so I could take her picture!

We exited the building afterwords and then Kristen realized she forgot her camera!! She left it on the table while we were taking the picture. She was forgetful today!

Thankfully she found it with no trouble! So we were able to venture forward!

Your halloween Pictures are great I was a cowgirl last year so it's fun to see other people be cowgirls as well. I am also a early halloween celebrater. I did all my celebrating friday, saturday and sunday so i'm also feeling lame for not celebrating today. oh well, halloween celebrations are really fun! I like when there are multiple halloween parties 2 go 2 because then you can pick 2 different costumes 2 wear like you and vickie did. Last year i had 2 seperate halloween costumes and it was fun having 2 different costumes that day. it made it feel like i was having my first halloween party of the year.

Where was the church you guys went 2? I have always been like you and have never gone 2 church while in disney (I always feel bad about not going and make church a main priority when i'm back home) so i'm just curious where there are churches near disney. I didn't realize you guys had a car while in disney this time, we usually perfer to travel by car so it is weird but nice when i see fellow DISers travel by car since most people on here travel by bus.

Yay for being back on disney property. I am always very happy when we get back on disney property, it makes me feel like i am back home again.

Your breakfest looks like it was good! that muffin picture is definitely pretty

Yay EPCOT 10am is a pretty good arrival time since you guys didn't finish church untill 8:31, that is a really good arrival time actually

Yay Soarin fastpasses! I have found that that ride is a absolute fastpass necessity. There is pretty much never a short wait on that ride.

about the long test track wait but for the CM's to give you a test track fastpass. Your pose on the ride is great I have never been able to locate the camera on that ride. I really want to do a fun pose on that ride someday though.

Nice to know about mission space letting you test out the amount of space you will get on the ride. That must have helped Nat out alot. Just out of curiosity what is the green side like? I have heard it is alot like star tours, is that true? I use to really enjoy that ride but i have not really felt like going on that ride my past few trips. maybe in the future i will try the green side sometime.

I looked it up and the church (or shrine?) is called Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe. The address is 8300 Vineland Avenue, Orlando, Florida 32821 in case you're interested. I know, I always feel bad about missing it when I'm in Disney. But this time I made it there!
Well that was the only time on the entire trip that we traveled by car! Kristen's family drove down to Disney for that trip, so they had a car. But they generally took the busses on the trip. I know the cars are probably huge time savers, but going on the Disney Transportation is part of the experience for me.

So its a bit off topic but all this talk of surprising in this TR had me thinking about how much fun it is and how we don't get to surprise people enough.
So yesterday it was my bosses birthday so me and my co-worker snuck in on the weekend and completely filled her office with balloons...filled it... literally to the roof! And because I work in a performing arts institute there are instruments all through our building so we moved them all into her room so we could have people play music. Then got everyone to dress up in their Halloween costumes, buy heaps of food and come early and hide.
She was SO surprised and so happy!It was a hit and so much fun!
Its not super ellaborate or anything like yours, but you've totally made me want to plan a bunch of surprises now. So fun!

Hats off to you girls for going to church at Disney. I am very bad about going to church on vacation. When we go to Palm Beach, FL at Christmas, I do go to Mass then. There is something so pretty about churches surrounded by palm trees.

How great that you got the test track fastpasses! I keep hearing the rumours that it will be closed for refurbishment next year and I'm worried about it. It's my boys 2nd favorite ride after Rock 'n Rollercoaster.

Hey, there! Just caught up with your TR! It looks like you guys had an absolute blast!! Your nails looked super cute for Halloween! Very nice touch! I completely know what you mean about being so tired yesterday! I was out at 9:00 last night! haha That's awesome that you guys made it to Church! Our travel days are usually on Sundays, they were last time, and are this time, too! So it's hard to get to Church when that happens!lol Kristin sounds like me with losing things! But atleast everything was still there when she went back for it! Gotta love Disney! Soarin and TT FP's?! That is very cool! Sounds like a wonderful day at EPCOT! Can't wait to read more!

Cute Halloween costumes! I was totally a loser this year and didn't go to any Halloween parties or dress up at all...bummer Last night, Chris and I just watched The Nightmare Before Christmas and went to bed early as well...so you weren't alone! lol
