Tell me what you think of these TS ADRs please!

Well thank you everyone for your help so far with suggestions on good TS places to go to on the DDP. After talking with my future DH, I think we have chosen them!! I would love to hear what you all think.

1. Boma (for a breakfast before going to Universal *the dark side*)
2. ESPN Club
3. Yak & Yeti
4. Sci Fi Dine In Theater
5. Captain's Grill
6. Via Napoli

I know we don't have anything in Magic Kingdom, but once we find out when the EMH's are for our trip, we will decided when we go to each one, and I think probably do a split day for MK. Get there early, leave for lunch somewhere (probably one in AK since we are staying at Coronado), and go back to MK at night. I know we didn't pick the fanciest and probably most romantic places, but my fiance got to choose some, and he is just a big kid so I let him have his choices!

Any suggestions for something in MK that may be reasonably priced to pay OOP. Maybe we can just pay OOP for like, ESPN club, and do an ADR in MK.

I like Yak and Yeti, Sci Fi and Via Napoli. The steamed dumplings and ribs at Y&Y are amazing. Dessert there was not very interesting though. Via Napoli is just like being in Italy. If you go, try the aqua frescas.

We don't have a restaurant for our day at magic kingdom. are we better off choosing a restaurant in the park or going somewhere else in the middle of the day and going back?

We ate lunch at Liberty Tree which has a good menu selection and great dessert ooey gooey toffee cake. If you are paying OOP, it's a good option in the park. We also had Tony's Town for dinner on our DDP. Again, good choice of food with average prices. The service was the only issue being sooooo slow. We liked it to mix up our food selections and not have chicken nuggets for the kids every day. Enjoy your planning!!!

We could do OOP or the DDP. My thought is if we did the DDP i would just pay OOP when we went to ESPN club. We would be more likely to share a couple appetizers there instead of the meals we would do with the dining plan. This is the one thing i am torn on

Julie - I would highly recommend 'Ohana over at the Polynesian. You can jump on the monorail to get there - or take a launch over.
The food is fabulous, you can watch the fireworks from the restaurant (you can see the castle in the distance over the trees and they even pipe the music in) if you time your reservation to arrive before the Wishes display ... the dessert is to die for (good luck having room left for it though!) ... It's one of our family's number one favourites - my husband would rank it #1 of all his top picks!

The food is fabulous, you can watch the fireworks from the restaurant (you can see the castle in the distance over the trees and they even pipe the music in) if you time your reservation to arrive before the Wishes display ... the dessert is to die for (good luck having room left for it though!) ... It's one of our family's number one favourites - my husband would rank it #1 of all his top picks!

I would highly recommend Kona for your Magic Kingdom day. We actually have 2 reservations there, as DH loves it so much, and I have no complaints. There teriyaki steak is really yummy and I've heard really good things about the noodle dish.

Yes!! We will be there during September baseball! So that is our plan is to try to catch a game there. My fiance is super picky about what he eats. I had to really go through all the menus to find places that would give him options! Kona had a menu that looked great to me, but I am not sure what he will think of it!! We ate at Via Napoli for the first time in Sept and absolutely loved it!! It is a new must do for us...the pizza is to die for, very authentic. We also ate at Captains Grill. We were looking for a nice quiet break from DHS and we were pleasantly surprised by Captains Grill. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the food was great. Also, the service was one of the best of our trips. Our server was outstanding. They gave us a balloon, candy and a special dessert for our Anniversary!! What a magical surprise for us... Hope you enjoy this one as much as we did.

I completely understand! My DH is the same way. He's basically a meat and potato guy. Doesn't care for most veggies, won't touch anything with onions in it, hates garnishes, dislikes most sauces and won't so much as look at anything he can't pronounce; he likes things plain and simple. I have to really evaluate the menus to see if there's anything he'll eat.

I just wanted to add a couple other suggestions, in case Kona doesn't work out for you for your Magic Kingdom day. There's always liberty tree tavern. It's a typical thanksgiving meal (turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes) so I figure I can't go too wrong with that meal, although we haven't tried it yet. And we ate at Whispering Canyon Cafe last trip and it made DH pretty happy. He got the skillet, which had ribs, chicken, beef brisket, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob and corn bread. You can ride the boat over to Wilderness lodge easily from MK.

We loved Liberty Tree tavern for lunch. At lunch there is a menu that you order off of. At dinner, it is a family style Thanksgiving meal. The lunch was FANTASTIC. The pot roast was great!! We got the chocolate dessert and is was great too. We are doing it again on our next trip.

Cannot wait for both of those places We picked Captain's Grill because it wasn't as.. Well I dont know how to describe why, the food isn't as interesting as say, Le Cellier, or Yachtsman. We will be on our honeymoon, and while i am not going in expecting anything, it would be nice to get a little something like that while we are there

You have just described my fiance too a tea! Give him a hamburger, plain, and fries. He won't do cheese on anything but pizza, no special sauces and garnishes. He does like some veggies so I can at least give him that! HAHA I don't think Kona is going to be the best option for him. I am torn between LTT and going somewhere else for the day. I had originally thought about Whispering Canyon, but we just ended up choosing some other places. I think I might end up paying out of pocket for ESPN and just choose one of those two places actually!! Thanks for you suggestions I have on clue really about the disney transportation to and from places, so its helpful when i find out how to get somewhere!!!

Just want to give a congratulations to the soon to be newlywed. Husband and I went to Disney for our honeymoon, almost 30 years ago. It was the week Epcot opened. We are going for our 30th anniversary next year, already booked, as we wanted to stay in the Contemporary, Magic Kingdom view. As our son is now in college (see what you have to look forward to!), we can now explore different restaurants. I will be following your thread closely, as I have a picky son, and I'd like to hear what your future husband winds up choosing for his meals. After our anniversary trip, we plan to return with our son as a family and cater our stay more to his tastes. Enjoy and congratulations and best of luck in your future marriage!

aww that is such a great story! I think we actually have our final list! FINALLY. We decided to add Kona to our list, and will probably just pay for ESPN out of pocket. When is your trip next year? We will be going in September, the first week.

I have not been to Disney since the honeymoon, and husband and son went with a school group for a father son trip about six or seven years ago, so they just did grab and go for food.

We are going to be there during the Epcot Food and Wine Festival, so I'm trying to leave a couple of days open of restaurants just to eat our way through the festival!
