Welcome one and all to my FAB-U-LOUS trip report!

I’m going to cut to the chase with this little ditty and get right to the trip reporting!

Why am I cutting to the chase?

DH and I leave in just 35 days for 6 fabulous nights at Wilderness Lodge!!

So, to get the jist of the cast of characters you can visit my brief, but fun and exciting PTR here!

Before I begin, I know some of you maybe wondering about the title. Well, that my friends will come out in a few updates. I promise it won’t be too long! I know that those of you who know me know I’m just like Lady GaGa!!

Not!!

So without further adieu, on with the show!!

I’d love to start the report the day we left. But alas nothing in my life or my family is without a certain aspect of drama!

So, Thursday evening our 4 1/2 month old English bulldog puppy, Minnie, came over to visit me.

Sorry the picture is blurry!! She's a little energetic ;)

I looked at her, in all her cuteness and thought, “Wow, why is her
neck so dirty?”

A second look left me in horror when I realized it was dried blood, not dirt!

I just about freaked out!

I sat down on the floor with her and removed her pretty pink collar that is complete with a pretty pink flower with rhinestones! I discovered that the whole left side of her neck was either bleeding, raw or crusted with dried blood!!!!!! Not to mention, it smelled terrible!!!

I wasn’t like that several hours earlier when Miss Minnie and I had a little cuddle together on the couch!!!

So, I cleaned it was warm, soapy water and put Neosporin on it.

I was soooooooooooooooooooooooooo upset! I hate to leave my puppies! I hated to leave little Miss Minnie at only 4 1/2 months old. Now I was about to have an anxiety attack about leaving her, even though I knew she would be well taken care of because the kennel is at the vet. I knew she would be rooming with her big brother Pluto,

who is the best big brother dog in the whole world and loves his little sister to death! It still broke my heart and made me sick with worry!!

Bright and early Friday morning I was on the phone with the vet! Luckily, they were able to see her early in the afternoon!

So, DH took Pluto, who is 120 lbs of yellow lab energy and love, to the kennel around 12:30 and DS4 and I took Minnie to the be seen and kenneled at 1!

Now, I’ll tell you, I LOVE all the people who work at our vets office! They’re all fabulous and soooo nice! They knew how upset and worried I was about her because I wouldn’t be around to take care of my baby! The all reassured me that everything would be fine and she would get the very best care!

Of course, my luck, Minnie was seen by the crazy vet!! They have 3 or 4 different vets in the office and this dude is a complete wack job!! I honestly think he thinks he’s a dog! He talks to them in funny little voices, hugs, kisses them and just goes crazy over them. I really think that if he could he would sniff their rear ends! I will say he knows what he’s doing and is a great vet! Just a tad weird!

He assured me that it was just a hot spot caused my an irritation or allergy and he promised to take very good care of her! He told me he would take her in the back, clean it up, shave it so it got air, put steroid powder on it to reduce the inflammation and start her on antibiotics. He also asked me if it was ok to give her a mild sedative because it was going hurt when he shaved it and he didn’t want her to be too uncomfortable. I assured him that it was fine with me because I didn’t want my baby to be in pain!

So, Ryan, DS4, and I bid Miss Minnie farewell and went to the front desk. It was there that Ryan realized that this was goodbye for now and had a breakdown!!! He was sooooooo upset!!! Almost hysterical crying!!!! The ladies at the desk thought it was so cute that he loves his puppy so much that he didn’t want to leave her, even to go to Disney World! Poor baby!

Finally Ryan, with his cheeks wet from tears, and I, with a giant headache from stress and worry, were able to make our way back home to finish up last minute stuff!

Upon arriving home I found another baby awaiting me on the front porch! This was a baby I was waiting for and was super excited about!

No, it wasn’t a real baby or another dog!

What was it? We shall see…

Here!! Can't wait to follow along. And soooooo jealous you will be back in 35 days!

Totally relate to the angst leaving a fur baby. I got daily reports from my folks who were watching my furry princess.

I think I know what baby was on your porch....

I'm here, Melissa; thanks for the heads up.

I'm sorry you had all that stress with the puppy before you left. We had a hard time leaving our puppy -- who will be 14 years old next month. She was diagnosed with cancer in May and there are days I just dread coming home because of what I might find. She was miserable while we were gone -- but only from sadness that we weren't there to spoil her.

Your pups are adorable, and I'm glad it was only a hot spot.

Can't wait to read more.

I'm here Melissa!!

I love my dog, but really hate all that drama that comes with him. It's so hard when they are sick, or ailing. (not to mention expensive!) I'm glad that Minnie got taken care of before you left, but how stressful!!! Your son is too cute- poor guy, all worried.

I'm here too girl!! :goodvibes Oh poor Minnie :sad1: I hate to leave my dog too but he gets a lot of good care and loving from his grandparents when I am at work or away. Just had to take him this morning to the vet...he is okay now..just another little stomach scare

Can't wait to hear about your trip!! I loved seeing you again and spending time with your family! They are too cute!!

I really think that if he could he would sniff their rear ends! I will say he knows what he’s doing and is a great vet! Just a tad weird!

Oh my gosh, this made me :lmao::lmao::lmao:!

Poor you, poor Ryan, poor Minnie! I hope this was the end of the worries.

YAY a personalized bat signal I love it!!!!!!!

I also know what baby was waiting for you on your porch!!! WOOT WOOT!!!!

Can't wait to hear all about your trip!

So good that you kennel at the vet! That was a time saver, and peace of mind keeper.

Joining in! Poor Minnie, so glad the vet was able to put you at ease and take care of her while you kenneled her. Hope she's feeling better now!

Hmmm, what baby could have been waiting for you?

OH, poor Miss Minnie and poor Ryan!!! Girl, I can relate - I would have been just like you. Can't stand when my furry babies are hurt! Loving the start of your TR. Keep in coming!!
