DISmoms 3! If the Tiara fits... 5/13-5/17/11 Complete! 11/8!

OK, ready, set.... GO!!! Wait, how come my bus took me to the dang airport???? :sad2:

But in 7 months, we will be CRUISIN!!!!! :cool1:

Actually...it's just over 6 months.

Are you SURE you aren't coming to WDW before with us? I'm going to make ADRs for our 2 days soon.....:goodvibes

The last day..otherwise know to me as the day I lost my ever loving MIND!!

209.jpg

I got up at the crack of dawn. I just couldn't sleep so I got up and got myself ready and ran over to DHS. I was on a mission you see to ride Star Tours. :headache: Why --I still don't know but I had a bug that day that I needed to be there. I jumped on the boat outside of the boardwalk and was there before I knew it. I mentioned to someone that I would meet them at Epcot before KJ left. :confused3 Apparently me being in Disney for so long had affected my brain--umm hello we needed to clean out the rooms.

My sincerest apologies for shirking my responsibilty. :worship: I beg mercy and claim Disney. LOL I do love you guys. I think this should have been the sign that DHS was off limits for me but noooooo,,,,,

Anyway, I got over there and was part of the rope drop. This morning they were doing filiming for the castle celebration so it was fun to see how that all works. They had us make our happiest faces as we walk by the various cameras. Yes most people know that they are going to be on the castle (way to go Disney for incenting people to get park hoppers:laughing:)

Anyway I ran to Star Tours. :darth: Not open....d'oh! So one quick ride on Toy Story and I was getting a text that my butt was needed at the room to get my stuff checked with the bell hops and that I needed to get over to Epcot so we could say our prayer. Golly I still feel like a smuck! So meet Evie and we stash my stuff and run over to Canada.

The moments we spent there were very precious. Little did we know but this was the same spot we watched illuminations from. She is our angel!

I would love to say I was happy and had no tears. I think this was the begininng of my breakdown. Apartment hunting with Kara....more tears. I think at one point I was truly sobbing--like had to sit down. :rolleyes1: Again how on earth is it that you meet people on here and they become some of your bestest friends in the world. Love you guys:grouphug:

We finally made it to Via Napoli. It was good. The others ordered the antipasta-- It looked really good. :scared1: but none for me. I had a lemon drop that day and some sangria. Looking back that may have blurred my judgement or was the last visit to the ditch? Either was the pizza was great.

The last adventure...do we make it on to Star Tours and what exactly happens if you maybe, kinda sort of miss DME:rolleyes1

Yes! I will be there on Saturday - Cammie and I are staying at BWV, she already booked a studio, I think. :confused3 In fact, I think we will arrive within like 15 minutes of each other......

Laura, I think it is easy to lose your mind in Disney. Good thing they were able to reach you to get your stuff out, or you might have had to stay there another day. :rolleyes1 I totally get the crying stuff - as I heard someone say, my tearducts are connected to my bladder. :rotfl2: It's so wonderful that you were all able to make the trip together - and future ones!:thumbsup2 I love how we can make such strong friendships here - just wish DH could understand even a little bit so I could join you some time!

Love you too! And I remember why you wanted to go- because you had no idea when you would be back, and you really wanted to see it! It worked out. Eventually.

Yea- everyone was sad- I fortunately was bringing two of the 6 home with me, so I had that to cheer me up! :goodvibes

Oh boy.

Oh- that's great! I knew Cammie had the studio, but I didn't know you had decided- last you mentioned it, you were thinking of driving down and staying in Jackonville the night before and then driving on from there. So glad you'll be in WDW!!! Lonnie will be really happy too!:goodvibes She wouldn't see you otherwise-

I wish your DH would understand, too!

I am staying in today- Pods just left for Tyler's football game- of course today's has to be an hour away (when so many of them are within 5 minutes at our High School!) AND Kara, you were right- we are supposed to get 6 to 10 inches of snow today. :scared1: This NEVER happens here- we think the end of November is a little early for snow. Crazeeee times 10, huh? It is raining and changing over right now to worse weather, so I skipped the game (and I feel REALLY guilty and worried for their ride back- especially Tyler's on the bus)!!:worried:Anyway....to calm my nerves, I thought I'd relive our wonderful last meal at Via Napoli....

So, as Kara headed off for the bus to Pecos Bill's, we went to our early ADR at Via Napoli.

Here was our first meal....

IMG_1865.jpg

And here is our last-

IMG_1866.jpg

IMG_1867.jpg

We began with around of yummy cocktails- Laura ordered a Lemon Drop 11.00
-Vodka and Limoncello over shaved ice

IMG_1869.jpg

Hmmm....looks like somone can still make those snowball drinks! The rest of us shared Sangria - a refreshing blend of Italian wine and fresh fruit $8 for a glass, $18 for a pitcher

IMG_1870.jpg

It was fruity and delicious, we all enjoyed it. Some views from my seat-

IMG_1872.jpg

IMG_1873.jpg

AS you can see, it was very empty at opening- so if you couldn't get an ADR, try walking up when they open.

I had only ever eaten at Via Napoli once before, and we made the mistake of ordering pasta instead of the pizza. But the one thing I had tried last visit that I couldn't pass up again was the "Family Style" House Salad
Served Exclusively with Pizza - minimum 2 people; leaf lettuces, roasted red peppers, marinated mushrooms, olives, peperonicini, red wine vinaigrette $5 per person ( and FWIW, even though it says they only serve it with pizza, they really will serve it with anything.).

IMG_1874.jpg

I LOVE this salad- it is so fresh, I loved the cherry peppers, and the viniagrette is perfection. A big hit with all the girls!

For five of us, we ordered four individual pizzas- and Lonnie took home LOTS of leftovers for dinner! But what can I say? We really wanted to try as many pies as possible! Here they all are! Prosciutto e Melone - fontina, mozzarella, prosciutto, cantelope

IMG_1875.jpg

Carciofi. Artichoke, Pecorino, Mozzarella, Truffle oil. This was the one I wanted to try, and I don't see it on the ALLears menu anymore. Which is really too bad, because it was my favorite of the 4 we tried- albeit VERY VERY rich.

IMG_1876.jpg

It's a shame if that's not on the menu anymore- it was so unique! (Just like the Piccante one they used to have, with Spicy sausage and broccoli rabe- I would have been all over that one if it still had been there. But don't worry- they still have pepperoni pizza on the menu- good thing, cause you can't get THAT anywhere else...:rolleyes2).

Quattro Formaggi - mozzarella, parmesan, fontina, provolone

IMG_1878.jpg

And the last was Margherita - tomato, mozzarella, basil

IMG_1877.jpg

I think that was the other one I may have tried- it was delicious, it reminded me of pizza I had in Italy with my DH 5 years ago- ground tomatoes and fresh mozzerella....simple and yummy!

I love wood fired pizza, so I really enjoyed this all, even if afterwards I felt STUFFED and could barely move for making a pig of myself! :rotfl: We paid the tab, and waddled out past the Aqua Frescas with the hidden Mickey-

IMG_1879.jpg

A great way to end our DISmom food fest! :thumbsup2

Up next- Do we get to see Star Tours today...or not?:confused3

First of all...6 to 10 inches?! :scared1: I heard a dusting..maybe! WTH? Must go look at the weather channel right now!

Secondly, so glad to read your review of Via Napoli. We just made a reservation there for our February trip and I'm very excited to try that pizza!

Edit: Wow, just checked...you are right! I'm seeing 5-8 but still...CRAZY!

I looked at Weather.com-

http://www.weather.com/weather/aler...ificance=W&areaid=NJZ107&office=KOKX&etn=0008

Either way, snow should NOT happen in NJ in October!!!! :headache: You should have seen the Shop Rite in Garwood yesterday- I drove around for 10 minutes looking for a space- like the day before Thanksgiving!! NUTS!!

And I hope you like the pizza- it's kind of like the Brick Oven pizza, KWIM? :goodvibes

I know! Isn't the whole snow thing crazy?! We're supposed to getting a little bit of snow here in VA. I'm not ready for snow yet!

MMMMM.... VIA NAPOLI  That was my favorite on our trip in June. Isn't the Sangria delicious?! YUMMO!

All of those pizzas look amazing, too.

Good luck to your son in his football game today! :)

Two days ago I was looking at a snow forecast for Colorado, and I thought- I could NEVER live there!! HAHA- jokes on me! :rotfl:

LOVED the Sangria, definitely. It was well done- I hate so-called sangria where they just thow a lemon in a glass of wine and spritz it- but this tasted like the fruit had been in there with some other elements (brandy?) and fruit juices for a good amount of time- very full flavored. :cloud9:

And thanks- Pods just called, they are winning 12-6 at the end of the 3rd 1/4. :cheer2:

MMM Via Napoli looks like a must try!

Brrrr Sorry you are getting so much snow. Nice you could stay in all cozy and write an update! We're supposed to get a dusting next week, that's normal for here. Yay for the football game - sounds like Timmy's team won!:cheer2:

What a nice trip that all of you had. I would have been crying myself saying those goodbyes! My DH doesn't understand all of this Dis stuff either which makes it hard for me to do a trip with a group of girls!

So did you make a run to the store for milk & bread? For the life of me I can't figure out what is done with all that bread & milk during a snow storm!:rotfl2: Vodka & rum, YES!

Thank goodness it wasn't OH getting the snow for once! Hope you didn't lose power!

Such a sad post then followed by a more upbeat one! I didn't know whether to laugh or cry! :confused3

Wickets Mom - the bread is for the PBJ and the milk is for all the cereal you eat when the power goes out and you can't cook anything!

I hope you got to see Star Tours!

Then why no run on cereal!? I don't usually have that much cereal in the house! :rotfl: Besides, I just use the gas grill, it will cook just like the gas stove.:thumbsup2

the pizza's and drinks look yummo!

so glad you all survived the snow.. I was watching your fb post while I was tanning in the 85degree weather we had here in Sunny California... thinking poor things!

We know you .... you had another drink for Ellen!

Those pizzas all look amazing and so does the lemoncello drink! Yummy! I know by personal experience that the sangria is good. :rolleyes1

So where are the pictures of the hotties?

Funny - we picked the exact same meal for our last day. I love that place.

I'm pretty sure you DID ride StarWars. I think you got a soft opening, right?

I have a hottie pic but I am so far behind! Been a CRAZY fall so far, and now Ally is off on her 5th grade field trip so hopefully I'll have time one night this week.....

I want to update and I'll come back to answer replies afterwards...:goodvibes

Back out into the beautiful day in Italia.....

IMG_1881.jpg

IMG_1882.jpg

The streetmosphere guy with the whistle was entertaining the crowd with the help of an adorable boy, so we stopped to enjoy the ambiance....

IMG_1885.jpg

This kid was SO CUTE!!! He was trying his best to catch the balls in the net-

IMG_1883.jpg

IMG_1884.jpg

IMG_1888.jpg

Love watching that- I really, REALLY need to slow down and take it all in more often. :thumbsup2
Next, we had some serious decision making to do....what to bring home from guess where-

IMG_1893.jpg

IMG_1891.jpg

IMG_1892.jpg

IMG_1894.jpg

Tyler ate one of these babies when we were here on Spring Break- surprisingly, he could not finish it in one sitting (but maybe that was because he ate it after he ate a school bread) :rolleyes1

IMG_1895.jpg

IMG_1896.jpg

IMG_1897.jpg

Decisions, decisions! Cont'd next post....

Next, we had a couple of stops to make across the lake-

IMG_1898.jpg

We hopped on a boat and went for a ride...

IMG_1899.jpg

This crew member was VERY happy to welcome us to the other side...

IMG_1900.jpg

And this guy was a very bad boy, hiding from his handlers-

IMG_1901.jpg

They did find him though, what a relief!! We are all SO WORRIED! :rolleyes2

IMG_1902.jpg

We were on our way to Norway first, to get some Schoolbread because I think Joan wanted to try it. I had LOVED it the last time I was here, so there were no complaints from me in trying it again! OH! And it was May 17th- and you know what that means (or maybe you don't)- Norwegian Constitution Day!

IMG_1903.jpg

Inside Kringla Og, the possibilities seem endless-

IMG_1904.jpg

IMG_1905.jpg

IMG_1906.jpg

I think this is the one Laura loves, but I still am not sure what it is...

IMG_1907.jpg

IMG_1908.jpg

But for me, there was only this....

IMG_1909.jpg

I had my first Schoolbread the month before and this is how it looked (so similar to the one above)-

IMG_1374.jpg

And on the inside, creamy, luscious vanilla custard-

IMG_1377.jpg

This time? If this had been my first schoolbread? :sad2: It would have been my last. It was stale, and the inside was semi-custardless....like they either didn't put enough in, or it had been sitting around for so long, the custard had been absorbed or evaporated. Either way, in the future, I will be asking when that schoolbread I am about to partake in had been made. :thumbsup2

Outside, the festive Norwegians continued the celebration-

IMG_1910.jpg

And we moved our celebration to our last EPCOT stop for our favorite Ritas in to go cups-

IMG_1911.jpg

Adios muchachos! I'll see you in November!! (Next Thursday, to be exact!)

We had 2 more things to do before the end of our last day....up next!
