"One More Waffle!" An October 2011 TR! *Update 4/24, pg 70-The End!*

Ugh...Jen, that is awful! I'm so sorry you had to deal with that in Disney! Heat and onions trigger migraines for me so I totally know what you were dealing with! Excedrin almost always works for me, but just like you said...if I wait too long to take it, the only thing that will get rid of it is sleeping.

Glad you woke up feeling better! Can't wait for more!

Im bacccck :goodvibes Actually i really want to put a frowny face next to that statement, I am beyond sad to be home!!

I am so sorry you had such a horrible headache in Disney...thats sort of hard to get through there with the noises and smells

I've had migraines before and believe me I know you how you feel when you just want to lie in a cold dark room and not move..at..all. At least you pulled through and got to see some of your beloved Epcot on the first day. And it really is great that your migraine was gone by the morning! :woohoo:

I've recently experienced my first migraine, who knew that they were a common occurance during pregnancy? Anyhoo, I totally feel your pain. I think you were awfully brave to even attempt to go to a park. Even though I love Disney so much I don't think that I would have made it with the migraines I have had the last few weeks. *Shudder*

I'm so glad you woke up without a headache!

Lol at the slurping raw oysters idea - I have to agree in that I am glad that doesn't happen. There's already a queue for 'pick a pearl' - can you imagine if they started giving away raw oysters as well :rotfl2:

Yay on Remy stopping by your table!

I'm glad you went on Soarin' and it made you feel better for a short while.

Love the Epcot pics and I'm so happy to hear your migraine went away the next morning :woohoo: Now you could enjoy the rest of your time at Disney World :yay:

There actually weren't too many people doing pick a pearl that day, I was surprised...I considered doing it for about 10 seconds, but then I realized it was probably a bad idea, considering how I felt.

Remy was so cute, I love how he squeaked! And Soarin' is always fun, even when you feel miserable!

Thanks, I really like some of the pictures I got that night, which is surprising! I'm so glad that migraine went away, I was nervous it wouldn't! :scared1:

I am so sorry that your first day at Disney was so rough! The combination of very little sleep and such a dramatic change in climates would get most people down, I think. I can't believe you made it as long as you did! I am such a baby when it comes to pain - especially headaches. I can't function when I have one!

I know what you mean about feeling like you are "betraying" Disney by not taking advantage of every last thing. If we ever head out early without seeing the fireworks, I feel the same way!

I'm so glad that you woke up the next morning feeling better! :woohoo:

Thanks, and trust me, I'm a baby when it comes to migraines too! I tried to keep the whining to a minimum when we were at Epcot, but once we got back to the room, I let it all out! They're just so unbearable sometimes! :sad1:

Haha, I'm glad other people feel the same way about missing fireworks! I also hate leaving early when there are evening magic hours, but sometimes you just get so tired, you have to go!

Thanks, I'm glad I woke up feeling better too! :goodvibes

Yay for you reading my TR! No need to wait to "officially" join in, I love reading comments even if it's about previous updates. :goodvibes

Looking forward to reading all that you were able to accomplish once you felt better. :thumbsup2

Your TR is great, can't wait for more updates, I love Disneymoon TR's!:thumbsup2

Migraines are the worse, especially on vacation and especially in WDW!
I am glad that a good nights rest (and some advil) did the trick!!!

You definitely weren't going to betray WDW by the want to go home when you didn't feel well! That's just a normal feeling!

I have yet to go to Le Chefs, but it sounds yummy and it's so cute that Remy comes around to the tables!

CSR is really beautiful :)

Ugh, migraines are definitely the worst. Especially in Disney World. :sad1:

LOL I felt horrible leaving Epcot, not seeing Illuminations! But I felt so awful, if there was any chance of me feeling better, I had to lay down in the dark asap!

Les Chef's is so good, you should definitely give it a try sometime! I really like the 3 course menu they offer!

CSR is a very pretty resort, I'm glad I got to try it out for a night!

Back from my trip and all caught up. I got to hear your "one more Waffle!", but what beat it for me was the Hops and Barley booth "one Lobster Roll... Rollin'!":sad2:

Welcome back! I'm glad they are still doing the waffle thing in Belgium! I didn't hear the Lobster one though, that's funny! Are you doing a TR for your trip?

I feel soooo bad for you! Our first day was also not so great-- I used to get horrible migraines from dehydration. They're the absolute worst! I applaud you for soldiering through dinner-- I just would have wanted to lay in my hotel room and cry!

I think the next time we do a long trip like this, we aren't going to do a really early flight, and we might not do a park that day either. It seems like I might do better if I had a day to adjust to being on vacation! Although, I say that now, but who knows what will happen next time!

I really wanted to give up and go back to the hotel room, but I kept hoping that maybe I'd feel better. No such luck. :sad2: I'm just glad sleeping helped, because it was really, really awful!

Onions? That's a weird migraine trigger! Although flowers give me migraines sometimes, so I guess that's kind of weird too!

Thanks, I'm glad I woke up and felt better too, it was pretty miserable there for a while!

Im bacccck :goodvibes Actually i really want to put a frowny face next to that statement, I am beyond sad to be home!!

I am so sorry you had such a horrible headache in Disney...thats sort of hard to get through there with the noises and smells

Welcome back! I can't wait to read your TR, I hope you start soon! :thumbsup2

It was pretty hard to go through Epcot feeling the way I did, but I tried to make the best of it! There's no way I could have done Illuminations though, it would have been way too loud!

I've had migraines before and believe me I know you how you feel when you just want to lie in a cold dark room and not move..at..all. At least you pulled through and got to see some of your beloved Epcot on the first day. And it really is great that your migraine was gone by the morning! :woohoo:

Ugh, migraines are so awful, when you get to that point of just wanting to lay there and not move, it's just so miserable, I always just want it to hurry up and be the next day so I can feel better! I'm glad we got to see Epcot, even though I wasn't feeling great, there were some good points to the day at least! :)

Ugh, I'm sorry that you're getting migraines now that you're pregnant, I've heard that's pretty common! I think it has to do with your blood pressure? That makes me nervous about me ever getting pregnant...I get them so bad already, I feel like they will be even worse if I'm pregnant! And I wouldn't be able to take any pain medication, or drink caffeine, I'd just have to suffer through it!

It's pretty hard doing Disney with a migraine, I really hope that's the last time I have to! And I hope you never experience it! :goodvibes

Haha, I think I'll be like you were and panic about the plane. The more reasonable fears will also be combined with the wackado ones like, "What happens if we get pulled down by an island, and we got stuck and have to deal with the smoke monster?"

Oh man, I'm going to have to adjust to the heat of May. I know it's not as bad as the summer months, but I'm so used to February now! Even April is cooler, which is when I go with my family. I might be complaining on my Disneymoon, haha.

Boo, the heat REALLY got to you! Aghhh, that stinks that you had to feel sick from the heat!

Haha, Brandon's so funny about eating the oysters. I always assumed that if the oyster was old enough for a pearl to grow inside of it, it was way past the edible stage.

YAY FOR THE MIGRAINE BEING GONE THE NEXT MORNING!

Your TR is great, can't wait for more updates, I love Disneymoon TR's!:thumbsup2

Thanks! I decided to go ahead and read your Disneymoon TR, only to realize that I had already read it last year. But I was just a lurker back then. It was a great read. :cutie:

Alright, doing some catch-up here...

YAY! You're finally in Disney! I'm sorry to hear about the whole climate change situation. I can see how it could be a big shock and put a lot of stress on a body who was adjusted to a much cooler climate, but hey you got to go to Earl of Sandwich :thumbsup2 I totally need to put that on my list. :-) Though, it must've been awful waiting around for Brandon to get a bathing suit, I think your whole mood was inevitable, so don't beat yourself up for that, you weren't feeling good, all it is.

Oh, the CSR rooms are gorgeous! Glad to hear you got your room request. Casitas seems to be very popular, I got to take note of that. Happy to hear the nap and everything helped with your mood, so you could be ready for EPCOT, WOOT! :teeth:

Love Spaceship Earth and that beautiful fountain... if only I could see those things everyday. My life would be complete :goodvibes I can't believe Brandon didn't make a face when trying Beverly, but I haven't tried it, so I wonder if I'll like it or hate it like everybody else in the world lol Big :thumbsup2 to the delectable Disney chocolates, YUM!

Sorry you didn't get to go on Soarin' right away, but I guess waiting in a long line would've done much worse to your head. Going to the F&WF booths was definitely a better choice and I think the no alcohol decision was probably good in the long run ::yes::

Wow! I can't believe there was an ACTUAL wait for the Gran Fiesta Tour... I'm in shock right now. If you took a picture of my face right now, that photo would be priceless. But I can't believe those ladies on the ride. Talk about ruining the Disney fun! Sheesh! We know it's obviously not Mexico, it's DISNEY! Two different things, very different, so shut up! I probably would've add a few more colorful words there, but I like to keep nicer on here :thumbsup2

That's awesome to hear the Ravioli and water helped pick you back up. It's no fun being sick, ESPECIALLY in Disney. Disney food was definitely the only remedy there... I definitely need to try the Italian raviolis if I go to WDW for F&WF someday. Lots of fun! :hyper:

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Yay, I'm caught up now, PARTY! :woohoo:

Good to hear your migraine was maintained now. You definitely were making all the right choices now. The decision to get away from those drummers was another good one. @ your husband's comment about the Pick A Pearl oysters. I've never had oysters before... they sound really good... haha :D

Les Chefs de France sounds really good and you get to meet Remy! Oh, that would be so awesome. So much for Character Meals, how about where the character is the chef (YES!) The menu sounds great too. Lobster Bisque and French Onion Soup... mmmmm... I want some of that!

Great to hear you got to go on Soarin'! That's definitely something you can't miss on your first day at EPCOT even if you are not feeling good. And the sky was so pretty out that night! It looked like it was purposely that way... oh so pretty :goodvibes With the monorail racing by... even prettier. Love it!

Awwww... I'm sorry you didn't get to see IllumiNations and get to go on Spaceship Earth :( Well, you do have a whole week ahead of you and you needed the rest. :thumbsup2 So nice of your husband to go back to the CSR gift shop again to get you your Advil :D I can't believe you said you wanted to go home :scared1: It must've been a really bad Migraine, wow! Well, at least it was better the next day :)

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

I think it does have to do with your blood pressure but I'm not sure. I am able to take tylenol and such and they did give me a safe prescription that didn't do much but luckily I haven't had one in awhile. The first one knocked me down for a bit thought. UGH.

Hey, I'm a little late to the party but I'm joining in! I definitely lurked on your Disneymoon TR so I wanted to say hi this time around (even though you're a Red Sox fan) :rotfl2: :goodvibes

I'm all caught up and I'm so sorry to hear your first night in WDW didn't go very well! The heat will do that to ya, especially since you were coming from up North where we'd already gotten away from summer weather! I was happy to hear you woke up on your second day feeling better and raring to go :thumbsup2

Can't wait for more!

Haha, I never have weird fears like that on planes, but maybe now that you mentioned it, next time I will! I hope not! :scared1:

We went in May last year and there were a few days that were almost as hot as the summer, then it cooled off a little, it was pretty brutal. Actually, the same thing happened, I got a migraine the first night and I figured I'd have it the next day. I don't remember it being as bad as this past one, though!

Oysters are old when they have pearls? I had no idea! I know nothing about them, except that they're gross! I hate watching people eat them, ugh! :rotfl:

Yay, so happy my stupid migraine was gone!!!

Thanks! I decided to go ahead and read your Disneymoon TR, only to realize that I had already read it last year. But I was just a lurker back then. It was a great read. :cutie:

That's funny that you already read that TR! It was my first, so I had no idea what I was doing, but thanks! I kind of wish I could do that whole trip over again, it was so fast!

The CSR rooms are really beautiful, I kind of wish we had more time to walk around the resort, which is what I was originally planning to do, before my migraine took over and ruined my night! :confused3

I'd give anything to be able to see SE everyday! I listen to the Epcot entrance music almost everyday so I guess that will have to do until I can move to FL and become a CM at Epcot!

I was pretty shocked there was a wait for Gran Fiesta too! It was only maybe 5 minutes, but still, there is never a line there! Ugh, those women were so obnoxious. I try to tune obnoxious people out in Disney, but they were right behind us, so it was hard!

The Italy booth is one of my favorites at F&W, the ravioli is soooo good!:thumbsup2

Yay glad you're caught up!

Chef's was so good, and I loved seeing Remy! I'm so happy I watched Ratatouille before we went to Disney, otherwise, I'd have no idea who he was! :rotfl:

There's no way I can be in Epcot on my first night and NOT go on Soarin, it's never going to happen! It's just so much fun, and it was nice being distracted from being in horrible pain for a few minutes! :)

It was so sad, walking out of Epcot, and not seeing Illuminations, but we made up for it during the week! I can't believe I said I wanted to go home either, but yes, it was a horrible, horrible migraine! Luckily I felt much better when I woke up, and was ready to go! :thumbsup2

I think it does have to do with your blood pressure but I'm not sure. I am able to take tylenol and such and they did give me a safe prescription that didn't do much but luckily I haven't had one in awhile. The first one knocked me down for a bit thought. UGH.

I'm glad you haven't had a migraine for a while, hopefully you won't get them anymore! I don't think I'd even bother with Tylenol, it does nothing for me with a regular headache, never mind a migraine! :sad2:

Hey, I'm a little late to the party but I'm joining in! I definitely lurked on your Disneymoon TR so I wanted to say hi this time around (even though you're a Red Sox fan) :rotfl2: :goodvibes

Can't wait for more!

:welcome: You're definitely not late, thanks for joining! And reading my Disneymoon TR, even though I had no idea what I was doing when I wrote that, it was my first TR so it's kind of rough! :rotfl: And you are definitely welcome here, even though you like the Yankees! (I love my Red Sox, but I'm so disgusted with them right now, and everything going on with the manager leaving, and then the GM...seems like they don't know what they're doing anymore! :sad2:)

I really can't handle weather changes like that, it was in the 60's when we left CT, and in the 90's when we got to Orlando! I'm so glad I felt better the next day, it's awful feeling miserable in Disney! :)

I just found your trip report and I'm joining in for the rest.

Can't wait to hear all about the Wilderness Lodge. I've always wanted to stay there but since they can't take a family of five it looks like that won't happen for a while. I'm so looking forward to seeing all your pictures.

I Want to go Hoooome!!!

I finally fell asleep somehow and woke up around 8 and...my migraine was gone!!!! :dance3: I was SO happy that I felt normal again! :woohoo: I was really looking forward to checking into the Wilderness Lodge, and then later, going to my first Halloween party! It was going to be a great day!

Up next...I'm finally home!

Hi! Just joining in for a fellow Oct. TR! I felt so bad for you in these first few installments, what a crummy way to start a Disney trip!

But I was VERY happy to see the blue skies start to peek through on Day 2! Can't wait to hear about you WL check-in and your trip to MNSSHP!

Ugh, being sick at Disney is horrible! I think you did a great job lasting as long as you did.
And I'm glad a good night's sleep helped with the headache. Can't wait to hear what you thought of MNSSHP.

I just found your TR! CSR looks beautiful! I'm so sorry you weren't feeling well in Disney! Migraines are the worst, you just can't even function. I hope you were feeling better the next day!

The Wilderness Lodge is so beautiful, I hope you get to stay there someday! :thumbsup2 That's too bad they don't take 5 people, it seems like the room is big enough for a daybed or something!

:welcome: Thanks for joining! You went in October too? It's definitely a fun time to go, are you doing a TR?

Awww, thanks! I'm so glad I felt better the 2nd day, I don't think I could have handled another miserable day in Disney!

Ugh, being sick at Disney is horrible! I think you did a great job lasting as long as you did.

Thanks! I was kind of disappointed in myself for not being a little tougher, I get migraines a lot, you figure I could just fight my way through! :sad2: But sometimes there's just nothing you can do, and that was one of those times!

I can't wait to get to the MNSSHP in my TR, I have to do my WL update tonight because I have a feeling it might be a little boring...I want to get to the parks part of the TR! :rotfl:

I just found your TR! CSR looks beautiful! I'm so sorry you weren't feeling well in Disney! Migraines are the worst, you just can't even function. I hope you were feeling better the next day!

:welcome: Thanks for joining! CSR was lovely, I wish I got to see more of it! Ugh, migraines are terrible, especially in Disney! I did feel much better the next day, luckily, I don't know what I would have done if I didn't! :rotfl:

Welcome Home!

Friday, 9/30

When we left off, I had just woken up at CSR, migraine free! I was ready to get going, as nice as CSR was, I kind of wanted to get out of there, leave the horrible night I had behind me, but it was so early...I decided to let Brandon sleep for a little while longer while I packed and watched some Stacy!

Finally I woke him up and told him we should probably check out and get to the Wilderness Lodge.

"Fine with me, this place sucks."

Apparently, Brandon didn't like CSR at all, because the 2 times he had to leave the room the night before, he got really lost on the way back! That, and he said it doesn't feel like a Disney resort, which I actually kind of agree with. Then again, I don't think I got a good feel for it, considering we were only there for one night, and I felt awful!

Anyway, we stopped at Panchito's after checking out, and Brandon bought 2 shirts. I didn't take pictures of them, but one was a green Disney World shirt and one was the monorail shirt! I've been begging him to buy that for a while, and he finally did! He also bought me some adorable Chip and Dale earrings, which I wore for most of the trip!

Finally, we were on our way to the Magic Kingdom resort area! I love staying by MK, I love feeling like I'm in the middle of everything. I can't imagine how wonderful it must be to stay at the Poly or the Grand Floridian!

Soon we were at the Magic Kingdom gate!!!

P1000107.jpg

Yay!!!

It was tempting to just go directly to the MK, but we stayed to the right, and turned down Timberline Drive, where I saw this adorable sign:

P1000108.jpg

I tried to get a picture of the arch that you drive under, but there was a car behind us, so we couldn't really slow down that much. I think I got one later in the week, though.

We stopped at security, showed our ID's, got our parking pass for the week, and were welcomed home by the guard!

Me-"Yay, he said it!"

Brandon-"Said what?"

Me-"Welcome home, I love when they say that."

Brandon-"Don't they always say that?"

Me-"Nope. Only here."

I know they must say it at other resorts, but the first time I ever heard it was when we stayed at WL in 2009, so to me, it's the only place they say it!

We parked and quickly made our way up the stairs

P1000111.jpg

and into the lobby!

P1000119.jpg

I love walking into the Wilderness Lodge! It's strange to me that I have such a connection to this resort, I'm not especially outdoorsy, but I just love it! I love the music that is always playing, I love how it smells in there (kind of a mix of Florida and something else, something wilderness-y), I love the lobby. When I'm there, I really feel like it's my Disney home. I want to try other resorts, but I really wonder if I will feel this way about any of them.

Anyway, we got in the online check in line and got all checked in, but our room wasn't ready. I wasn't really expecting it to be, since it was still kind of early, so the CM said we would get a text when our room was ready, and we remembered we still hadn't eaten breakfast! We went to Roaring Forks and we both had the breakfast croissants, which are so good!

Once we were finished, we wandered around the lobby for a little while

P1000115.jpg

P1000121.jpg

and then went outside to figure out what to do next.

P1000122.jpg

We knew a park was out, because we were going to the Halloween Party that night and I wanted to be in the Magic Kingdom by 4, so we decided to hop on the boat to the Contemporary and go for a ride on the monorail!

P1000126.jpg

Walkway to the boats...looks like an Ewok Village!

Once we got to the Contemporary, we walked around the shops for a little while, but quickly got bored and got on the monorail.

P1000129.jpg

Brandon took one of me on the monorail, but it's awful, sorry!

We thought we should skip the Poly since we would be there later in the week and go to the Grand Floridian! I have this fascination with the GF, I've been kind of in awe by it ever since I saw it on one of our family trips to Disney. To me, it's the deluxe Disney resort.

P1000137.jpg

P1000139.jpg

We walked around, went in every shop we could find, (even Basin, which I was afraid to go in the last time I visited the GF) and went down a staircase and passed Princess Aurora, who was going upstairs and said to us "beautiful day outside, isn't it?" That made me love the GF even more-princesses just roam freely! Once that happened, I turned to Brandon and said "I don't care if we have to save for years, we are staying here someday."

We had a magical time at the Grand Floridian, but it was getting late and we still hadn't received a text from WL about our room, so we decided to go back and check at the desk. It's a good thing we did, because our room was ready, but something wasn't working in their system properly, so people were not getting texts when the rooms were ready!

We got our luggage and went up to our room, which was on the 4th floor, and for some strange reason, I didn't take pictures of the room! I don't know what was wrong with me the first couple days, not taking pictures of the most important things, but I did take a picture of the view from our room:

Beautiful, isn't it? Unfortunately, we didn't have a lot of time to admire it, because we needed to take a quick nap and then get ready for our first Halloween party!! :yay:

Up next...our first MNSSHP...a sold out MNSSHP! :scared1:

It's always so nice going "home" isn't it? Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside! I love the view from your room. It looks so peaceful! I can't wait to hear about the party! I hope it's not too crowded!
