I have been trying to come up with a list of the must take items for a weeks stay at DVC. I am interested in having others add, so I can come up with the UBER list. We susally drive and buy fresh stuff at Publix on the way in ( I am not counting that stuff). The publix at Hilton Head has a great "timeshare" section in the front with small ketchups, mayo, mustard... Anyway:

salt n pepper grinders
mustard
mayo
coffee
coffee filters
cream
cereal
peanut butter
laundry detergent
sunscreen
rice
butter
shampoo
spaghetti noodles
olive oil

Add on:

Our "uber" list includes:
coffe, filters and beer. We figure that "damn all" else...we can survive! ;)

i bring

Laundry detergent
sunscreen
sponge
zip lock bags
cereal
bread
PB and J
cofffee and filters
towels

Extra batteries of all sizes
Bathroom suction cup hooks to hang wet stuff in the shower
Tide with Bleach Alternative
Bounce sheets
Big beach towels
Stella Doro cookies

Instead of laundry detergent, I bring the Purex 3 in 1 sheets. They're very portable and you don't need seperate fabric softener sheets. I can't really take credit for this suggestion because someone recommended them for a DVC cruise I recently took, and now we are hooked.

We have 2 Owners Lockers that are filled to the brim with things we 'need', in addition we always stop at Publix for deli meats, cheese, bread, fresh fruit, lettuce, wine, etc. From home we bring fresh ground coffee, because it's what we like...we use it in our mini Keurig that's in our Owners Locker.

Not to hijack this thread, but the topics are related. Do you mind me asking what you store in your lockers, esp. since you have 2 of them. We are thinking about getting one, but not sure what other folks keep in theirs. Thanks!

spatula for cooking eggs!

Our Kidani 2 bedroom didn't have one in 2010 so now it's on my packing list!

new for 2012 I'm brining my Keurig!

If there isn't something that is supposed to be in the villa, just ask for one.

That usually works, Deb, but at AKV (Both Jambo and Kidani) if you ask for a spatula or pancake turner, they bring you a rounded bottom skimmer. NOT helpful at all for eggs or pancakes! We too keep one in our Owner's Locker just for those AKL visits.

Maybe they just don't understand the term. Someone needs to let DVC know about that problem. I probably won't be staying there, so I won't need one.

The Owner's Locker website has a discussion forum, with one of the threads all about what people have in their lockers, and also an ultimate packing list. We've got two now and don't know how we ever lived without them. :thumbsup2

I don't cook anything beyond breakfast on vaca so from your list I only need to bring fresh coffee. I get a small grocery order from Garden Grocer to include a case of water, gatorade & beer & some breakfast stuff. We keep all the rest of our "essentials" in our Owners Locker. This would include: coffee filters, salt, pepper, paper plates, utensils, plastic cups & straws (for taking to the pool), collapsible coolers & "blue ice", Captain Morgan, wine glass, a set of sharp knives (we use studios and there are no knives), string backpacks, pool / beach bags, flip flops, can & bottle huggies (or cozies some call them), customized toiletries for each of us, a shave mirror for DH, scissors, a small sewing kit & an assortment of rubberbands, paper clips, packing tape & safety pins for those MacGyver moments, mini umbrellas & ponchos, sunscreens, various OTC meds, a sharpie, a can of air freshner, candles, flashlights, batteries, spray fan bottles, lanyards & FP holders, lint roller and an assortment of different size baggies....I have a list with about 120 items on it so this is just a general idea. Have fun making your own uber list!!
