Goofed on my Dining Reservation

Was just reviewing our ADRs for our Thanksgiving week trip and realized that our reservation for Narcoossees is for 4 people instead of 5. I tried making another reservation for 5 and nothing is available. I don't want to completely cancel our reservation for fear that I might not get another reservation. However, I am concerned about showing up with 5 people when our reservation is only for 4. (4 on adult DDP and 1 on child DDP) Any advice?

I really don't see them turning you away, but I don't have any experience with that so I don't know. Hopefully someone who's had a similar situation can answer for you!

I've seen a lot of threads like this and people always recommend trying to find a reservation for 5. I would just keep rechecking up until it's the day of your trip.

I messed up on some of my ADRs and so I changed some of them but the ones I'm unable to change, I plan to keep. If I show up and they turn us away for having an extra person (a baby I didn't realize I needed to add - but it makes sense that I should! I just didn't think about it because that's not how they count at restaurants in our area), we'll figure something else out.

So if I was you, I would just keep checking online and keep an eye on the November cancellations thread as well. Good luck!

I keep checking and I can get a table for 4 at Narcoossees, just not 5. So, I know the restaurant is not full at least at this point.

You could maybe call the Dining Ressie number and see if they could combine the two (the one you have and the one you see) for a table for 5? I don't know if it would work, but it might be worth trying.

Have you checked for a ressie with 6? I had a hard time with some of mine. We need a table for 3 and had luck with a table for 4.:confused3 I just called and canceled the 4th person. There is something crazy with odd numbered ressies.

I'm going to try to call today.

I did try 6, but no availability. I had this problem with Le Cellier also. I could get a ressie for 4 or for 6, but not 5. When I called, they told me that that restaurant could not accommodate a party of 5. After I explained that our family had eaten there several times before without any problem, she went in and modified a ressie for 6 and changed it to 5 and it was fine. So, I know that odd number party sizes can be an issue sometimes.

Sorry I can't help on this one, but just had to say that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. The restaurant can't accomodate a party of 5...as in, never? :rotfl:

OK, got it resolved - in a rather cumbersome way, but resolved none the less.

Called Disney Dining and could not modify the ressie for 5. So, the CM tried to add a separate ressie for 1 (in DH's name) - no go. Tried for 2 - no go. Tried for 4 and was able to get a second ressie for 4 (at the same time as our original ressie). She then went in and modified the 2nd ressie for 4 to one guest. So, we have one ressie in my name for 4 people and one ressie in DH's name for 1 person. Hopefully, we can sit together. I have been told before when making a reservation for 5 that they cannot guarantee we would be at one table. But, in all of our trips, we've never been split up before. Hoping that holds for this trip as well!

I think odds are good that you will all be together. However we have been split up before (4 at one table 4 at the other) so it is a slim possibility. It is much better you did that than just show up with an extra, hoping they could seat you. Good luck!
