Our Gawrsh Darn Spooktacular Halloween TR ***Last Updates from Tracy 6/17***

We arrived at Pop and headed in and the kids went off to play in the TV room. There was no one in either line to check in but we’d checked in online so we headed there.

We checked in together since we had linked our reservations and were hoping for joining rooms. Well we lucked out because we were given joining rooms (requested) in building 3 (requested) on the lake side (requested). I got room 3320 and Tracy got room 3321. They gave us our room keys and packages and birthday buttons and we were done.

Great line mojo we had going so far. Ariana’s birthday button was cute with the mickey head dotting the “I” but it proved to be a difficult thing for most people to read and I changed it as the week went on.

I tried to get a pic of Emma’s birthday button but for some reason I couldn’t get a good one so I figured it was the lighting and I would get one later.

Now the plan for this day was to eat and swim, but since it was raining we had to change our plans so we started with going to the room and taking some pics before going to eat. We got to the room and I started taking pics but they weren’t turning out very good.

Then I figured it out, my flash was broken and wouldn’t stay up so the flash wouldn’t flash. Great now how was I going to fix this. I looked around and saw the Kleenex box (light bulb) I folded up a tissue and stuck it underneath the flash so it would stay up and it worked!!! It might look silly but it works and that’s all that matters!

Entering my room, the kids were going bonkers running around everywhere and I snapped one or two pictures off before casually asking Demetri where Lady was.

After our Lady and the Tramp movie night, Demetri had grown very fond of our Lady stuffy, even making a bed for her out of a cardboard box to keep in his room. Well after a moment or two of wide eyed wonder on his face, he realized he didn’t have her anymore and she’d been left on the Magical Express bus. The next twenty minutes was spent calling the front desk and being transferred many, many times before creating a claim to try and recover Lady from the ME bus. (Sadly, she wasn’t turned in and didn’t come home with us. I think for Christmas I will buy him a new Lady stuffy and wrap her in a hat box with a bow under the tree.)

After all that we made our way to Everything Pop for some dinner. I had been waiting all day to try the Mom’s night out meatloaf and I have to say it was ok but I was not in a rush to try it again.

I didn’t know what I was going to have until I was standing in the food court. In the end I chose the nachos and cheese which was pretty boring. Demetri ended up eating some of Natalie’s green beans after his chicken nugget kids meal.

After we ate we headed back to the room and hoped our luggage had arrived so we could unpack, unfortunately it hadn’t. Shortly after we got there though, there was a knock on the door and we each got one of our suitcases so we started unpacking. Shortly after that there was another knock and the rest of our luggage had arrived.
We unpacked all our stuff and decorated our windows.

Natalie was sweet to share her window decorations with me. I just realized that I left it all there!

Then at 10pm I decided it was time for bed so we could get started bright and early in the morning.

Both of my kids are thrashers in their sleep and I hadn’t been looking forward at all to sharing a bed with either of them. I’d brought an air mattress with the intention of having Demetri use it so we all had our own space, but realized I hadn’t packed enough D-size batteries for the pump. I think it was Natalie’s suggestion to use the comforters off of both beds, folded on the floor, and with extra pillows and blankets we created a third bed. It worked out perfectly and with that, after posting our picture itinerary on the wall, it was off to Neverland for us too. We had a rope drop to get rested up for!

Yay, you've arrived!

Every Canadian TR I read, I hear about Tim Horton's. I swear, I feel like I'm missing out on something! I'm not complaining, I love Dunkin Donuts, but it's all so mysterious!

Poor Demetri losing Lady on ME....:sad1: I know what that feels like. I loved my plushies when I was a kid. I think the idea of buying a new one and packaging her like the movie would be awesome!

I love the decorations that you guys used. Awesome! I'm not that savvy.

Woo hoo!! You started... and finished day one!!

Sounds like you were off to a good start aside from the missing stroller, glasses & Lady!

Timmie's coffee is a MUST every morning for me. Mmmmm!

I think I'll have Tramp with a big bow on him sitting beside the hat box. :lovestruc Luckily Demetri was distracted enough throughout the week that it was only once in a while he missed Lady.

We also didn't get our Petals drink that first night while poolside, but we made up for it a bit later into the trip. ;)

Yay for arrival!! Glad the flight went well but sorry for the forgotten stroller and glasses. There's nothing quite like that feeling of arriving at the airport and having your whole vaca ahead of you. :cloud9:

Love your window decorations. :thumbsup2 That is one fun thing about values and mods, the outside window that you can decorate. Miss that now that we're DVC, it's just not the same on the balcony door.

Bummer about Lady, that's too bad it never turned up. Your idea to wrap it in hat box with the bow is too cute.

That first hit of humid air is one of my favorites too. :cloud9:

I wish I hadn't left the clings to the last minute but the ones Natalie had were awesome. I love the gel ones!

I can't wait to see his reaction to Lady... hopefully he can hold out until Christmas!

Sounds like a good arrival day minus the forgotten items. Poor Lady:sad1: I hope he's happy with his new one on Christmas.

When I saw the picture of you coming off the plane I started getting excited!

Loved the details of your arrival. It feels like I'm right there with you. Also loved your window decorations. I can't wait to read more! :goodvibes

As far as travel days goes, yours went fairly smoothly except for the forgotten glasses and lost lady. I think it would be adorable to wrap a Lady in a hatbox for Christmas, VERY cute. :thumbsup2

I love the window decorations.

Can't wait to hear more!!

Oh no on the ink on the clings running :headache: They look really nice as well.

Yay on getting through the border pretty quickly. The kids look so excited at the airport!

I'm glad the lozenges did their job and you managed to fix the camera! :thumbsup2

Oh no on losing Lady :sad2: Great window decorations - love them!

Thanks! We had a good travel day, sometimes when I rush to a park it feels too rushed

It was an interesting start to the vacations that's for sure

Yay! You made it. I always woprry about leaving a "lovey" somewhere too. It sounds like Demetri wasn't toally heartbroken though. I think Claire would've won an acadamey award for a fit over losing a lovey. :lmao: We once left it at my Moms house and I had to drive back late at night to pick it up. :rolleyes1

The windows look great! To bad about the rain. Did it let up after a bit?

Hi ladies :wave2:

Great start to your TR :thumbsup2 Good to hear that except for forgetting a few items the travel day went smoothly, including getting all of you room requests met and having no lines!

The window decorations are awesome. And, Natalie, that was some quick thinking after a long day of travel...first the quick fix on you flash, then the bed idea - good work :woohoo:

Looking forward to your first park day!

Demetri is easily distracted... both a good thing and a bad thing. In this instance it was a good thing. If he was reminded of her, especially at bedtime, he was very sad she was gone. But start talking about something else and he'd be fine. :goodvibes

I don't remember there being any rain once we were decorating the windows, it must have stopped by then. Besides this first night, we had fantastic luck with rain showers!

Hello!! I think it was Day 2 of the trip we thought we'd have a running theme of forgotten items , but we got better.

Wasn't that kleenex thing on her camera great? I don't think I would have thought have that -- I'd probably be trying to hold the darn flash up all week.

Aw, poor Demitri!

You had such wonderful travel karma!

It's wonderful reading about & looking at the pictures of everyone especially now that I've met you all! :goodvibes

Hi Megan! Too funny that we ran into one another.... I should have said something, I got back to the table and told Natalie I thought I knew you. What timing!
