2013 dates

Unfortunately, this week I've had two bits of information......neither of which is happy news if they are true.

First, that Disney is not doing the Med/Europe at all in 2013; and secondly, that the fares being released this month are for Caribbean only and if there are any "special" cruise surprises, they are not being released until after January 2012 :confused3

Will all the ships do Caribbean? Maybe they are just going to release Dream & Fantasy dates? I realy thought they'd make Hawaii permanent...since it sells out so fast!

I have heard that they aren't going to the Med/Europe. Which probably means I will cancel the "dummy booking" I currently have. I have an agent pricing what I want on another line now. Price is probably cheaper, sure I am giving up the "credit" but not much else so....

and just to keep it balanced we were told on the Magic this summer (in the Med) that they would be returning to the Med in 2013. We won't know anything until they announce the 2013 dates....

I am hoping for a 7 night Eastern on the Fantasy during our Spring Break (March 29th), or a Hawiian during the summer. What do you think my chances are???

Not very good. I am a little confused on your March 29th date, so will assume you are looking at March 30. I want an Eastern on March 16, but am pretty sure it will be the western. If that is the case, yours will also be the western.

If I remember correctly, when they released the 2010 schedule in 2008 - they released the itineraries first then started booking a couple days later. Did they do that with the 2011/2012 schedules?

I'm hoping they do that for 2013 so I can look at what is possible and then let my TA know what to book for me.

I wasn't here when they released the 2011 dates, but that is what they did for the 2012 schedules released in 2010.

If they're only releasing dates for the Caribbean, then that means it's only going to be for the Fantasy... one out of four ships?! I hope they at least get the stuff for the Dream (Bahamas) up soon as well.

I really wish they would do a Caribbean cruise with a stop in Nassau, like Royal Caribbean. It would be nice to have a longer cruise, but our main thing is that we want to go to Atlantis.

What about the Magic and the Wonder? Are they doing more Alaska/Mexico cruises? No Mediterranean means they'll go... somewhere else? Hawaii? Maybe Asia or Oceania? I can't wait to see what they'll do. :)

Last year the standard itineraries were announced on Oct 19th and the special (seattle, galveston, NYC) were announced the following spring in April.

I am about 99% sure that is what is going to happen this year. The Dream and Fantasy are for all itents and purposes taking over the Magic and Wonders Bahamian and Carribean cruises (nothing new here).

The Magic and Wonder are the possible "special" itineraries. The no Europe rumors surprise me since ABD just expanded to include Greece and DCL asked on the survey cards if we would be interested 7 day western/eastern Meds.

Either way, if you want to sail on the Dream or Fantasy you should be able to book in 10 days to 2 weeks. (just an educated guess). :)

Oh, I so hope you are a great guesser :goodvibes

I'm still holding out for Alaska. If the specials won't be announced until 2012, that's good for me because I'll be on the Magic in December and can book a dummy cruise.
I don't want Fantasy or Dream because they are running expensive right now and living in FL, I want a change of pace.
Crossing my fingers.

If this holds true, I'll end up booking for the Fantasy/Dream and then changing if something sails out of NYC for the summer, cuz that's what I really want.

Thanks for posting, this gives me a lot to think about.

Sorry, I meant March 30th (I went back too many days from Easter ). Why do you think it would be a Western?

We're in the same boat (no pun intended) :goodvibes ... we'll move our current dummy date to what I anticipate will be our 2013 March Break week and then if "warm destinations" open up from NYC we'll move it again. (I think Canada/New England out of NYC would be awesome too ... but the family vote is that our next cruise is to somewhere tropical.)

Oh, I so hope this is true! We just returned from the new Disney resort in Hawaii, Aulani, and I am having serious post vacation withdrawls and would love to start planning our 2013 voyage on the Disney Fantasy. I will be watching these boards closely the next few weeks as the DIS always has the best info about these things.:thumbsup2

When dates are released are they immediately open for booking? Just wondering how much time I'll have to make a decision.

As mentioned a couple of pages back, typically the dates come out 2-3 days before Platinum and Gold members are allowed to book. Everyone else is typically allowed to book 2-3 days after Platinum and Gold members can book. So:

Dates come out
2-3 Days after dates come out: Gold & Platinum can book
4-6 Days after dates come out: Everyone else can book

Also, dates will come out via email to G&P, they don't (usually) come out online. Disboarder insiders will quite possibly get the dates before anyone else because they're just awesome :wizard:

Ohhh man this waiting this gets harder & harder... It's like you can see the ::finish line:: but not sure how close it is!! NEED TO PLAN SOMETHING  My days are so long when I'm not planning a trip with Disney!! Can't wait to book our 2013 cruise...

But that didn't hold true for the Hawaii announcement of the addition of an October cruise. They announced AND opened up ressies for gold and platinum at 8 a.m. the same morning! I had no warning at all they were doing this!

As for the "special" itineraries, I'm hoping they go back to NYC in 2013, but offer cruises to Bermuda or longer New England cruises with stops at New England ports, or even itineraries out of Galveston with maybe 10 and 11-day itineraries to southern caribbean.

I'm with you on this!
