And They Lived Happily Ever After - A June '11 Disneymoon TR! THE END - NEW PTR!

I have some of the same MK pictures from Swiss Family Robinson Tree House from May. The desserts look yummy.

You got a lot done that day, good thing you took a nice nap!

I'm glad you liked the dessert party, we watched Hallowishes from that area last year and it was a great area to see the fireworks, makes me think that the dessert party would be a good thing, just to get a good view.

I love Peter Pan's Flight. I could go on that ride 1,000 times a trip and not get tired of it. I just love it.

Looks like a wonderful day in the Magic Kingdom Courtney :goodvibes
Love your photos of the 'Magic Memories and You' from the dessert party :thumbsup2 (I was starting not to feel well at that point during the DP on our trip, so didn't take any photos! lol)

Emma princess: x

You guys managed to grab quiet a few sets of FPs. You almost beat my record! ;)

I know lots of people love the monorail, and I love it too, but I think I prefer the boat launch and ferry. There is just something about being in the open air with the nice breeze...

Magic, Memories and You truly is a breathtaking show!

Courtney, I just LOVE your updates, it feels as if I am there and the food pictures always make me hungry. Thank you for sharing so much with us about your honeymoon and the fun you had! I just LOVED the gift from your Dad, how sweet was that and what a nice treat! Looking forward to reading more!

You went Triple Mountain Whammy with those FPs! :thumbsup2

I've heard mixed reviews regarding the Dessert Party. Glad you tried it out and had a wonderful time! :goodvibes

What a fun day at MK!!!! Glad Miguel was there when you got back. I've been thinking he was kidnapped for the week :rotfl2:

Glad I'm not the only one who still giggles at the JC puns :thumbsup2

Oh you had a WAAAAAAY better Dessert Party than we did. I did notice when we were at MK this trip that there seemed to be more dessert options. That's great! And nobody stood at the railing???? WOW!!!!! If I could get a group that did that, our experience would have been very different.

What a beautiful picture of the two of you with the castle in the background!

Fantasyland is my favorite! I just love Peter Pan and Pooh. Philarmagic is my favorite attraction there.

It is wonderful that your honeymoon was so magical for the both of you.

Wow so much to comment on I dont know where to begin!

The dessert party that you went to looks AMAZING!! I did read a lot of reviews about people standing up and people not enjoying the desserts, etc. I am so glad to read a positive review and I bet that is so nice to watch the fireworks without having a crowd around you :goodvibes

The photopass pics of you at the party = beautiful! Its like you guys are the only ones in the park :thumbsup2 I love the Fantasyland rides, I think EMH is really the best time to go see those, the lines are always so long!

Your day at MK seems like it was awesome :)

I've never been to the Dessert party, but after seeing those desserts and your view, it's going to be on my wish list of things I want to do!

The new show on the castle is awesome! We saw it for the first time on our recent trip and it was so cool! The spot we saw it from was "okay", but still a great show!

Our recent trip was pretty good. Very interesting and long lol But good! Rylan ( our son) had a blast, which is what we were hoping for!

Joining in and a belated congrats on your wedding.

I was gone for almost 2 weeks and I only missed 1 update?! Thanks for waiting for me to continue. You shouldn't have! :lmao:

I'm glad Miguel ended up being okay in the heat that day. The first 2 days of our trip were REALLY warm but then a cold front came through and we had quite pleasant weather for the remainder of the trip. :)

Your experience with the Wishes dessert party sounds great but most I've ready makes it appear not to be worth it. I, like you, would want to sit and enjoy Wishes. One of the worst things about watching Wishes up close is standing!

Looking forward to reading more! :)

Wow, you got some major updating in!

I'm glad to hear that Miguel felt OK after some cold water. That FL heat can be killer!

The Jungle Cruise is a favorite of mine also, it is so cheesy but but fun!

That toffee cake looks divine, I'll have to plan a lunch at LTT one of these days.

We did the dessert part last summer and thought it was wonderful. I love the desserts and we ended up standing at the railing, with just about everyone else from the party. It didn't bother me at all, but I like to be as close as possible and I don't mind standing.

Wow, you had a large amount of fastpasses for sure! I was very impressed with that number in your hand.

I'm glad you enjoyed the Dessert Party. I've enjoyed it the two times that we've gone. I do agree that going with a duo gets you the best seat. And the view is great.

Yeah, I have a feeling that if I was doing the dessert party with a large group I wouldn't like it as much. Parties of two definitely have the advantage!

Wow, so much to comment on! That Jungle Cruise skipper was funny! Way to put you on the spot, though!!
When we went to the dessert party, we checked in 15 minutes before and were maybe the fourth party in the line. However, everyone stood up at thethe rail 20 minutrs early and was super pushy at the buffet.

It sounds like your dessert party experience is the same as what most people's are. I guess we just got really lucky that night, because I have read so many stories like that!

I have some of the same MK pictures from Swiss Family Robinson Tree House from May. The desserts look yummy.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the tree house! The views were great! :thumbsup2

You got a lot done that day, good thing you took a nice nap!

I love Peter Pan's Flight. I could go on that ride 1,000 times a trip and not get tired of it. I just love it.

I would say that for me, the order of things I enjoyed most about the dessert party were:
the view
the seats
the desserts

The view really was amazing. :thumbsup2

I took so many pictures of the Magic, Memories and You but those were the only two worth posting! I had a hard time getting any good shots, so I'm glad at least a couple turned out. :goodvibes

The resort launch was so peaceful! I wish that we had of done it more after we realized how much we liked it!

Aww, thank you Judy! :goodvibes

You went Triple Mountain Whammy with those FPs! :thumbsup2

I've heard mixed reviews regarding the Dessert Party. Glad you tried it out and had a wonderful time! :goodvibes

Haha, we definitely did concentrate our FPs on the mountains! Too bad we didn't really get to use them! :sad2:

What a fun day at MK!!!! Glad Miguel was there when you got back. I've been thinking he was kidnapped for the week :rotfl2:

Haha, no thankfully Miguel wasn't kidnapped. I think he was too tired to go anywhere (and he is typically a wanderer)!

Nobody stood at the railing! The only people that even got up was a young girl and her mother, and they stood so far off to the side that they didn't get in anyone's line of sight. I was very pleased, since I know that's not the norm!

What a beautiful picture of the two of you with the castle in the background!

Fantasyland is my favorite! I just love Peter Pan and Pooh. Philarmagic is my favorite attraction there.

It was a very magical trip. Just what I was hoping for! :goodvibes

I think that we definitely had an odd dessert party experience compared to most of what I read here. But, that just goes to show that you can't rule it out based on everyone else's experiences. You might just get lucky like we did! :goodvibes

I would definitely recommend the dessert party! I know it gets mixed reviews, but I do think it's worth it to do it just once. The view can't be beat, and the desserts were a lot yummier than I was expecting. :thumbsup2

:welcome: Glad to have you joining in!

I know! I have been terrible about updating lately. I've got to get with it because I still have a whole other half of the trip to go! :sad2:

So glad to hear you had great weather. October is on my mind for next year, so I'm happy to hear that the weather is nice and comfortable that time of year. :goodvibes

Wow, you got some major updating in!

The JC has become one of my favorites, too. I can't believe I waited so long to try it out!

The toffee cake was really good. Very sweet, but yummy! :thumbsup2

Congratulations, your wedding looked beautiful. Enjoying your trip report:thumbsup2

Thank you so much! So glad you're enjoying it! :goodvibes

DAY 6 – Pt. 1

Staying out late at the Magic Kingdom the night before definitely took its toll on us, because when the alarm went off at 7:30 the next day, the snooze button was pressed many times! Finally around 9:00 I got up and got a shower and Miguel decided to sleep just a little more.

Thankfully there was a little leeway in the plans for sleeping late, because we were going to be visiting Blizzard Beach that day, and after my “souvenir” from Typhoon Lagoon, I wasn’t exactly in a hurry to get out in the sun!

I again visited Captain Cooks for breakfast and chose the same croissant sandwich that I had eaten earlier in the week. I also picked up a cheese Danish and got some coffee in my refillable mug. I am not much of a coffee drinker, so I guess I’ve never really noticed the coffee, but I have obviously read the commentary here. Unfortunately my coffee lived up to the DIS boards reviews, meaning it wasn’t very good at all. It didn’t actually taste like coffee come to think of it. Anyway, at least the croissant was good, again! This sandwich is really large, and could definitely be enjoyed by two people.

The cheese Danish was the real standout, though! It was so yummy. We ate a few bites that morning and then I ended up saving half and eating it as my dessert later in the day. The pastry part was nice and fluffy, not dry at all, and the cheese was plentiful. It literally sank down all the way to the bottom of the little “hole” that it was sitting in. So good!

Eventually, we cleaned up from breakfast, got dressed in our swimsuits and loaded down with sunscreen, and headed out to BB around 10:30.

Before long, we made it to the park! I will admit that I wasn’t super excited about spending the day here, mostly because I was worried about getting another sunburn, but as we pulled into the parking lot and saw some of the sites, my excitement was reignited! It is so fun knowing you are about to experience something new!

Our first order of business was to upgrade our one-day water park tickets to annual passes. There really is no difference in price between buying two one-day tickets and an annual pass, so if you’re going to be spending two or more days in a year at the water parks then it makes sense to go ahead and buy the AP.

The line was pretty long, but eventually I made my way to the counter, paid the additional $108 for our two tickets and received our WP APs.

By this point Miguel was squirming to get in to the park, so I scoped out the locker rental location. Along the way we spotted a PP photographer and I once again was kicking myself for not brining my card. Thankfully he was nice enough to snap a picture of us with my camera.

Once some picture-taking was out of the way, I quickly ran in to the Beach Haus and rented our locker and two towels and stowed away our things and we went off in search of a chair.

* I will go ahead and apologize for the lack of pictures in the rest of this update. I stowed my camera away in the locker, and never thought about getting it back out! *

I must say that I like the layout of Blizzard Beach much better than Typhoon Lagoon, at least where seating is concerned. I found that there were a lot more shaded options at BB, which was a must since I was avoiding the sun like the plague!

We quickly found a seat, plopped down our cover-ups and went off in search of our first attraction, which ended up being the ski lift! I know this isn’t a water attraction, but I really enjoyed it. It was neat being up so high and it really proved just how high up Summit Plummit really is!
064f3b2d.jpg

And speaking of Summit Plummit – that was our actual reason for taking the ski lift, since Miguel was dying to plunge himself down the ski slope. Me being the wimp that I am was just tagging along to watch from the viewing platform. Before we could get there, though, I saw the sign for Teamboat Springs, the family raft ride, and convinced Miguel that that would be a better way to start off our time at BB.

Teamboat Springs is a little different than the family raft ride at TL in that you must have at least 4 people to ride. At first I was a little put off because we are both really shy, but we ended up riding with a family of 3 that were pretty fun. I can definitely see why you need at least 4 people though – you would flip right out without that many! This ride is a lot of fun and pretty long, too.

Since Teamboat Springs took us down towards the bottom of “Mount Gushmore” we were now no where near Summit Plummit. I noticed a sign for Runoff Rapids, which is a two-person inner tube ride, and after a quick stop at the restroom, we went to get in line for it. We ended up doing Runoff Rapids twice and it was fun both times, although I preferred being in the back of the tube. Not quite as scary!

We were once again no where near Summit Plummit, so we wandered over to Melt Along Bay, BB’s wave pool, and spent some time there. I enjoyed this so much more than the wave pool at TL. These waves were more just bobs, and I thought it was neat that you could take the inner tubes in. If we could have ever gotten a hold of one I would have liked to float along there for a while, but they were pretty hard to come by.

I only stayed in the pool for about 10 minutes before I started getting worried about applying more suncreen, so I left Miguel to continue “bobbing” and I went back to the chair. Around 12:45 Miguel joined me and we both walked over to the locker area so we could get our bag. He was going to go do Summit Plummit and I was going to read a magazine while I waited.

First though, we stopped at the Polar Hut for a quick drink: a strawberry dacquri for me and a margarita for Miguel – or should I say liquid encouragement. We went back to our chair to enjoy our drinks, but not 5 minutes later an announcement was broadcast over the intercom saying that a thunderstorm was rolling in and that the attractions would be closing temporarily.

Since it was quickly passing lunch-time and I was hoping to grab some food from Captain Cooks instead of eating at BB, we decided to go ahead and leave the park. Thankfully we made it back to the car right before the bottom fell out!

When we made it back to the Poly, Miguel and I were both pretty hungry so we decided to stop at Captain Cooks on the way back to the room and pick up a couple of entrees to share. We had been eyeing two items in particular all week, and we thought it would be the perfect time to try them!

We went with the Hawaiian pizza, which has ham, pineapple and cheese, and the pork nachos which are not like regular nachos, but are instead made with the homemade Poly chips, BBQ pork, cheese, tomatoes, pineapple and red onions.

Both of these dishes were really good. We ended up just sharing both of them and we were both happy with our choices.

After we got done with lunch, we watched some TV and then we decided to take a quick nap before our evening at the Beach Club!

Part 2 is in the next post!

DAY 6 – Pt. 2

After another afternoon nap, Miguel and I awoke and got ready for our dinner ADR at Cape May Café. Miguel was particularly excited for this evening because he absolutely loves CMC. In fact, he groups it with ‘Ohana as his favorite restaurant at Disney.

When we got to the Beach Club, we had a little difficulty finding a place to park, which has never been a problem before. I assumed that there was an area of the parking lot that I just wasn’t seeing, because surely all of the guests of that resort couldn’t fit in to that tiny place??? I decided the easiest thing to do would just be to valet park, since we get it for free with our Tables in Wonderland card.

We always enjoy exploring the Beach Club when we come here. It is such a beautiful resort. Every time I see it I think I just have to stay there some day!

I got us checked in at Cape May, and I nice lady offered to take a picture of the two of us. The coloring is a little off, but I really like it!

We didn’t have to wait to long before our buzzer went off and we were taken to our table, which was right next to the buffet!

We didn’t waste any time getting started on our dinner. Here is our first round of selections:
Mine: salad, orzo pasta, shrimp, some potatoes and another pre-made salad that had some fruit and a citrus dressing, which was amazing!

Here’s Miguel’s: shrimp, the orzo salad, potatoes, and a bunch of eggs???

Next up were our entrees!

Here’s what Miguel had: roast chicken, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, and some sort of beef dish with vegetables.

And mine: roast chicken, roast beef, pasta, mac & cheese, potatoes, corn, some shrimp – apparently I was hungry!
4c2ed084.jpg

Everything was really, really tasty. So much so that we had to go back for seconds! Believe it or not, Miguel has never had crab legs, so he was determined to try them. Since he had never eaten them, he didn’t know how to go about getting the meat out of the shell. I like crab legs, but I don’t eat them very often. I like to call this next series of pictures “why I don’t eat crab legs very often”

Too much work! Miguel got a kick out of it though, and was happy to finally try some crab legs. They were pretty good!

Next up was a few desserts, even though we were stuffed!
e8d9178d.jpg

If I can remember correctly, that is a strawberry cheesecake, a mini keylime pie, a cupcake and an oreo truffle thing. The desserts were ok, but they definitely weren’t the stand out of the meal.

We also got a congratulations dessert!

After dinner, we were both feeling so full that we didn’t feel like getting in the car and riding back to the Poly just yet, so we decided to go outside and do some more exploring.

I was dying to see Storm-a-long bay. I couldn’t believe the water slide!

Finally, we were ready to head back “home”. There was a soccer game on TV that Miguel was interested in, and I was still pretty tired from Blizzard Beach. Overall, it had been a great, relaxing night!
