Okay, I've ran up close to a few hundred posts or so, most over on the Cruise Thread. Since we're leaving on the Wonder in 10 days, I'll need a new DIS addiction to switch to, so I was told on another thread to get my rear over here. So here goes:

Real Name: Jeff
Location: Central Valley, California
Family Situation: Married 16yrs, 1 daughter (8)
Occupation: Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning
Pets: 2 cats, 4 dogs, one Guinea Pig
Favorite Food: No definite favorite...
Favorite Drink: Guinness!

I can't believe I didn't find this place years ago. I have to say DW is nearly as big a Disney fan as I am, but not quite. Between DVC trips and DCL cruises, we keep a steady dose of the magic in our veins.

Real Name: Lauren (and no, I'm not female)
Location: New Orleans, LA
Family Situation: Married for 18 years. Two children - DS15 and DD12
Occupation: Database Expert
Pets: Cat (she's 20 years old)
Favorite Food: Sushi
Favorite Drink: Black Sambuca neat (Non-alcoholic: Sweet Tea)

Favorite Drink: Black Sambuca neat
 :scared1:

We always do shots of buca when we tailgate at football games. There are 2 guys who actually like the stuff, and the rest of us just drink it because they keep showing up with bottles and shot glasses. Who turns down free liquor? :confused3 :lmao::rotfl2: Actually we drink the clear stuff, but it is nasty enough that I have never wanted to try anything that even shares the name. Does black Sambuca taste like licorice too?

Welcome to the DDC... head on over to the main thread and jump into the off topic madness that is always going on over there.

Yes, it tastes like licorice, but it's a lot smoother than the clear stuff. I have friends that drink the clear stuff like it's going out of style. It's not nearly as good (to me, anyway) as the black. I've been looking for a brand called Opal Nera, but it's not sold anywhere local to me. It's a higher-end version that gets its color from elderberries. They also make a clear version (Opal Blanca I believe).

Yes, I'm right between Stockton & Modesto, in a little town called Escalon about 10 miles east of Highway 99. We're right on Highway 120 that goes east directly up to Yosemite National Park, and west to turn into I-580 directly into San Fransisco. It's nice to be 3 hours or less from SF, Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, Reno (okay, that's 3-1/2), Santa Cruz and Monterey - but not having to live IN any of them... Beaches in the summer to the west, skiing in the winter mountains to the east!

Go there? So often that I used to have one of the regulars boxes behind the counter from about 1989-1993 (my Manteca High years). I may have actually worked for you for a short time before you sold the store! I remember grabbing KFC across the street on the nights the comics came in - Diamond Distributing in Berkeley, wasn't it?

Agree 100%

The black is much smoother, it's a lot thicker, and is night and day with the clear.

And I also drink Opal Nera. I haven't seen it in a while either.

Diamond was in Hayward. They're who I went to work for before we sold the store. Jeff, I'm sorry I can't place you, too many miles and years since then.
