Getting TS dessert to go

When we eat out, we're not normally hungry for dessert. Is it pretty easy to get your dessert to go? Any tips, like things that pack better than others?

We do it all the time. The Deluxe plan is just way too much for us and we always get the dessert to go.

We had our dessert to go at Le Cellier.
Since the apple crumble came with ice cream, we obviously ate that while there
The maple creme brulee was brought to the table and I had to transfer it to a plastic cup to take home.
Both made for a nice after swim treat!

we took desserts to go on a number of occasions... obviously ice cream doesn't travel well (LOL)... cakes typically did the best... cheesecake made a great b'fast... anything that did not need refrigeration fared better...

also, because we have a food allergy issue, we were able to get pre-packaged/individually wrapped cookies at brownies to go quite a few times and they traveled the best!

We did this a lot (that deluxe plan is a killer ) and it wasn't a problem. We usually ate late dinners and headed back to the room after, and just stuck the dessert in the fridge. At Sci-Fi we got a brownie (minus the ice cream) and ate it later while watching a show. At The Plaza they put a milkshake in a to-go cup for me. At one place I asked if they had a fruit plate and they brought one out for me, even though it wasn't on the menu (I forget where). And at one of the signatures (pretty sure it was California Grill) I was able to get a nice tea instead of dessert.

If you ask your server they can recomend which desserts are best to package up and can bring it to you already packaged to go if you choose.

Your welcome! There's been some great tips in this thread, as well. I like the idea of eating the ice cream with the meal, and then taking the cake (or whatever) with you. It's like 2 desserts in one. And getting shakes to go - brilliant. I want to spend as little time as possible sitting and eating, and as much as possible having fun (within reason, of course, everyone needs to eat).

and also, I was thinking, that taking the dessert with us gives us another snack, as well. We could totally pull out our cheesecakes while we wait for the fireworks.

I frequently get my dessert to go and have never really had a problem with it. At California Grill the waiter told me they have a chocolate cake that is not on the menu, that they usually recommend as a to go dessert, as their other desserts do not travel well. I didn't want the chocolate cake, so they let me have a cheese plate to go. At Flying Fish I once wanted the chocolate trio to go. They let me have two of the items, but told me I had to eat the chocolate creme brulee there. They have also let me have cheese plates to go though for my dessert. Other desserts, I've simply gotten without the ice cream. My favorite dessert to go is the almond cheesecake at Narcoosee. It makes a really good midnight snack or breakfast the next morning.

It would be nice if they had some sort of system to have them shipped to your resort just like purchases in the gift shops. Haha, then you wouldn't have to carry them around.

My family has also taken may of the desserts "to go". As others have said, some things travel better than others. The server will often give you recommendations about which desserts travel better or they can tell you if the dessert you want travels well. Obviously, ice creams, soft mousses, frozen, and hot desserts don't travel as well as cakes, cheesecakes, etc.

At Citricos, I asked for the fruit dessert from the kids meals to be packed to go and they gave me 2 very large boxes of fresh berries! It was perfect for breakfast!
