Parking for Chef Mickey

I managed to get a Chef Mickey reservation for 5:05pm on the night we are doing MNSSHP. My mom (who is local) will be with us that day, so we'll have a car. Can we drive to the Contemporary and then just leave the car there until after the party? I think the rule is 3 hours, but do they check? How would they check? Last year, we had breakfast at Chef Mickey and left her car all day. I wondered if they would be more strict because of the party. It would sure make things easier if we could just walk over to her car vs waiting for the bus back to Pop. Oh, and because we're staying on-site does that give us a better chance of being able to park at another resort? Thanks for the help!

You are not supposed to park at the resorts to visit a theme park. Each park has its own parking lot for a reason. If everyone dining at a resort decided to just leave their car there, the guests who pay a premium to stay at the Contemporary or Bay Lake Tower would have nowhere to park. Could you? Probably. Should you? No.

You could Valet... but otherwise, resort parking is not meant for theme park access. You need to park elsewhere after you are finished at the resort.

Thanks for the response. I tried asking on another thread and was flamed. I guess asking if you can park at a resort you just paid over $150 to eat at is somehow trying to rip off Disney. Do you know if Valet is always an option or do they sometimes say "no"? Would the CMs at Pop be able to find out before we drove all the way over there? It's just the Halloween party is expensive and I don't want to miss the front end since we have a 4 year old and will most definitely NOT be staying until midnight. Again, thanks so much!

The only way valet would not be an option would be if it was full. In that case, not much can be done.

If you want a good idea on how Disney can be strict about parking, look up the changes they are doing during the food and wine festival for the Epcot area hotels. Even then they have said that valet parking would be okay.
