A Hop, NO Skip, and Many Mishaps to a Disney Dream!

You *can* get cell service at sea...you need to talk to your provider about setting it up. Just find someone reliable to take over at home. My husband isn't crazy about sea days either...that's why only 2 on this cruise. The other 4 were port days. I think if you found the right ship (w/ activities) he'd be fine...and Claire is getting older each year, so she has more she'll want to do. So many ships, so little time

I did check inot that for this past cruise, but we have Nextel, so it's about impossible. It's through Sprint, but only certain Sprint phones work (so I was told) and with Nextel, they said none of them do. But I still plan to keep looking into it.
I think he would be fine too. I think his memoroy fo that day is getting sunburned (because the fool wouldn't put sunscreen on when I told him to) so thats what he thinks of for a sea day.

Jen, sorry I got behind again (family drama and getting ready for our trip today). The pictures are great and I really enjoyed your report.

I can't beleive you are even reading today. You must be trying to waste the day away at work! :thumbsup2

I can totally understand your meltdown! That's a long time to go and a lot to accomplish on such little sleep! It looks like your trip was highly successful! I hope you can talk Skip into a trip soon, and I hope you can make it to the next AEP because I WILL be there! I will not miss out again!!!

Stephanie, I am REALLY hoping they have an AEP for the Fantasy. I will be begging Skip if they do.

I can completely sympathize with your last day meltdown. I've been there (more than once). When you are the vacation planner, the one everyone looks to for everything, it just gets really overwhelming. I wonder if I will ever have the experience of having someone else plan a trip for me. Somehow, I doubt it.

Claires tummy issues sound a lot like my Allison. It always happens to her when we travel. Not sure if its nerves throwing her system out of whack or what. She's always be hyper-sensitive in that area.

Your Dad sounds so much like my grandfather. I loved him, but the man could drive me absolutely crazy sometimes.

We are on a 7 night Fantasy in August 2012. I also have a dummy booking for a 3 day December 2012 Dream, unless I can convince DH that he should spend his 40th birthday with the Mouse.

It was a great report, funny and sweet! I hope you get to write another one someday soon.

Yep. I love my Dad and he can be great fun...but he can drive you mad too. He has a hard time getting over things that have no meaning..like me passing the right exit. Who cares. We weren't on a time limit. LOL!
I would love to do the Fantasy. It's going to have a BBB onbaord and I would love Claire to try that out there! :lovestruc

:lmao:

Tell him MY DH is NOT a 'sun' person either. While I was laying in the sun (for about an hour) on our sea day, he went and found other things to do. There's always more to do than sit in the sun on deck and fry! (maybe this time he'll listen to you....and apply sunscreen)

Home safe and sound. Glad for that, but sad your TR is over. I think it is so cool your travel buddy was Claire. I foresee my dd will be mine since I do like to go and do things...but no one else here does. ::rolleyes:

Thanks for hainging in with me.
How was your cruise. Let me know if you do a TR.[/QUOTE]

I think I have finally gotten him to use sunscreen now. And for some reason he kept saying he wanted to lay in the sun all day that day, so I let him and I actually went and did stuff...while he fried. :rotfl:
I know if he gives it anohter chance, he'l lbe fine, it's just getting to that point.

how exciting!
I hope to get that started this weekend.

luvin the trip report.
Bummer bout the phone but yay for getting it back!
I loved all your pics :goodvibes

Glad to hear you got your phone back! I had my cry at 1900 Park Fare on our last trip - lol!

Sounds like you had a great trip! It's great that Claire was looking forward to seeing daddy - that is so sweet!

Well, I finally got caught up with your TR & all of my others!

The Rapunzel tower was there as of last week, I noticed it when in Germany. I didn't see it at night, so can't tell you if it still lit up.

I did the crying thing also, Grandmas do it too. WDW kicked our butts, didn't do our usual way of touring as DIL wanted to ride everything. We rode stuff that we hadn't ridden in years.

I did the pearl thing at Sea World Ohio years ago. That pearl was made into a ring. A friend gave me a canned oyster for my birthday that had a pearl in it. I got one of those coach cages & put that pearl in it.

I've enjoyed your TR very much. Too bad it has come to an end. I hope to start one of my own soon. I haven't finished with my Photopass photos yet.

I did have a Dis meet with Karin & Tom. They are so nice & lots of fun.

Sometimes a good cry just helps. LOL It was nice to be home. I wish we could go for longer though.

Let me know when you start yours so I can read along. I hope to start the next one soon.

Good to know the tower is still there.

Loved reading along on this TR. I did know the phone was retrieved, but I don't remember how...your PTR maybe? Sounds like such a great day in Epcot. It is always sad when the vacation has to end though. Claire posing with all the topiaries was too cute! You will probably have to remind her of it when she gets older. Great story to tell in front of her friends! My parents like to tell the one how I was terrified of Snow White.

I am so sad I had to cancel my next trip because I need knee surgery. My friend is going in Feb and is trying to convince me to rent a scooter and go with her family! lol.

Yes, I did write about in on my PTR.
Oh no. I hope your knee heals fast!

AWWWWWW!!!!!!! ITS OVER! Well at least I'll have 2 of your other ones to read (you really are a very busy girl).

I know you were only gone for a week but it seems like you did a months worth of stuff:laughing: I don't know how you did it all.

Now as soon as you are done with your other 2 trs you need to hurry up and get Skip on board for another trip! Just tell him everyone on the Dis says he has to step up and take you on that anniversary trip:laughing:

We did do a lot of stuff. I was just checking prices for a 5 night Disney cruise this spring....OUCH> I think they went up quite a bit since I last looked.
I guess I'm really going to have to get Claire to use those puppy dog eyes!

I know I got really behind on your TR, but I just went back and read your last several updates. My computer is being slow taking me to the links, so I thought I'd comment and then go back and read some more.

When you lost your phone I was practically crying right along with you. After I got my iphone, 3 days later I had the most vivid dream that I lost it in - yup, Florida. It was some nondescript Orlando location at the start of a Disney trip. I woke up in a panic and that dream seemed SO real. That truly is a big fear of mine.

I am so happy you got it back! :worship: WOW! Thank you kind person for finding and returning it!

Your Dourney is lovely. Both of them, actually.

Your trip report was so entertaining. Very well written and I loved all your pictures. Claire is a doll.

BTW - how is your son? I know I posted months ago that your son sounds a lot like mine. Mine is actually doing well right now (fingers crossed). He left for college about a month ago, loves it, and, most importantly, is keeping up with his studies. I am cautiously optimistic.

Anyway - going back to read some more!

My computer does weird things like that too at times. I know it's on it's last leg, and I cringe when I think about that.
My son is 22. He just moved out of town and we haven't heard too much from him. He moved with 2 other friends and none of them had jobs when they left. I am hoping he finds something soon. My Mom did talk to him recently and he said he had a fast food interview for now to keep him going till he found something better. I haven't heard if he got it though. I hope this straightens him out though. Being completely on his own and away from family might be a good thing for him.

Yay! Now you can start your AEP report! :lmao: Then when you are done with that, you can start your next PTR. Just keep em coming!

I know! I was hoping to start it this weekend, but it's not going to happen. I ended up being gone from 10:15 yesterday till 4:30, only to turn around in the next hour or so and leave again and didn't get home till 11ish. Today we have a family b-day party for my cutie niece (she turns 2 tomorrow) and I have a bunch of quotes to do today as well.
Good new is that my family thinks they are all wanting to go on a cruise next year. Skip has already said no (for Oct with family) but my Mom really wants Claire to come, so she may take her anyways, and possibly drag me along as well. Only time will tell.

I just caught up to find out, it's all over. :sad1:

But you still have another one to do :woohoo: and then ....... as a TA, don't you have to go there once a year to stay on top of things? ;)

Um, may I just propose some possible cruise dates for next year ....

Feb 19 - 23 - wonderful time to cruise
Aug 24 - 29 - wonderful time to cruise
Aug 29 - Sept 2 - wonderful time to cruise (and you would have fellow cruisers you'd know :rotfl2:)

Thanks for taking us along - it was wonderful meeting you this summer - hoping to see you again SOON!!! (in person)

Wow, what a trip! I can't belive it's over finally! I'm glad you found your phone. I've had a meltdown or two before as well. DH always says that I haven't dripped in a while, so am due for a good cry!

Claire is an awesome little traveler! Anthony is pretty good too, planes and such don't even phase him. His motto should be "have DS, will travel". :rotfl:

I hope you get another trip planned soon!
