Best place to purchase Universal tix from

Other? Heading to HRH end of Sept/Beg of Oct with family of 4; 10 year old son and 12 year old daughter. We have our HRH room reserved but haven't purchased theme park tix as of yet.

if you have AAA, you can get a good discount from them.
UT does sell day tickets to UO at a good price, also.

I stuck with Universal when i bought tickets years ago.
in case there was an issue or i lost them, they could be looked up at guest services and replaced easily.

when i bought the AP years ago, i started to buy tickets with the ap discount for family members that went with me.

I thought about getting an AP but whenever I look at US website it only mentions AP for Florida residents and having to have photo id to get it.

Is this the case or can you buy it somewhere else without the ID. We are going in June 2012 as a party of 11 and would really like to use the AP discounts if one or two of us can get the AP.

If I buy just the basic AP, I can use that to get 10% off multiday park tickets but not sure for how many people?

If I have a CAA membership is that treated the same in US & IOA as AAA membership? (It is when we go into a AAA store)

Does the AP expire 12 months from when you purchase/activate it or from Jan 1? If from Jan 1st how far in advance do I have to order it?

CAA and AAA have the same 10% discount for the parks, food and merch.

you have 12 months of ap usage from the time you first activate it/use it.

it doesn not matter the date you purchased it, but when you first use it.

Mac answered your other questions but I'll answer this one for you. Passholders can purchase up to six additional theme park tickets for family/friends but you'll need to do that at the gate. Your pass would have to be activated before you purchase the other tickets at the AP discount. The easiest thing to do is wait until you arrive and purchase all of them at the same time.

No...the website prices are an online special...you will need to add $20.00 to the gate price. But...you will receive the AP discount which should be better than online.

If you have an AP it doesn't matter where you live.

Yup, they're mentioned all the time... and they even post here sometimes. I've used them several times and have always gotten great service and great prices, can't recommend them strongly enough.

We haven't bought tickets yet, but I haven't found a deal better than Costco. $144.99 for 3 Day park to park tickets. It looks like UCT is $147.95 for the same ticket, which expires within 14 days. The Costco tickets are good until 12/31/14. We're probably going to stay onsite one night and go 2 days, with an optional 3rd. If we don't use that third day we'll have 3 more years to use it!

If you're saving the extra day, it's a better deal. But you'll pay tax at Costco -- while UT prices include tax, so if you are going to use the tickets within the 14 days UT is still a better deal.

i always use UT for my tickets to the motherland.
they are the BEST.

if you are interested in the hard ticket event HHN, UT has the best deal for it.

the best way to go is with them for those tickets.


i haven't bought tickets for myself in 6 years for uo.
i have the ap and keep it renewed.


but, in 06 and 08, i did buy the 7 day 2 park passes when they were $79.

when they went up in 09 to $89, i bought another one of those passes.


i don't need those passes.
i just can't stand to not buy something that i might evenually use someday when they are at bargain prices.

in case a friend or son wants to go with me, i can give one of the passes to them.

Agreed. That's where I ended up purchasing our tix from. Beat all other prices including AAA by at least $10/day.

For more days, UT beats AAA but for a 2 day/2 park ticket, AAA is under UT by $5 a ticket.

I have yet to find AAA to be better than UT when I've bought tickets for any length, although I wouldn't be surprised if there were times/situations where AAA may be better. Just make sure you get the tax info before you buy/compare, because that money can add up quick if you're buying tickets for a family.

Possible -- I haven't checked recently, but like I said I don't doubt that it could be the case... just make sure tax is factored in so you get the best deal no matter who you choose -- and it sounds like yours is definitely the best deal. Enjoy.
