I was on the Disney website today and saw the Canadian Resident Discount and that it was valid for our dates in November so I called and was able to add the discount to my reservation.:banana: We are staying 2 nights at Pop Century then moving off-site for 7 nights - Our 2 nights are Pop Century are $76 per night - YAY! I saved $42 with that phone call.

I am anxiously awaiting September 13 to book a hockey game while we are there too. We are going to catch Tampa against New Jersey. Any Canadians that have done the hockey in Tampa - do you buy the parking from ticketmaster too or just wing it?

We are 67 days until our trip. Only bummer is that Delta sent me a flight update and my noon departure from Orlando is now 6am.:headache:

That same code saved me $180 on my reservations for All Star Sports.Better than nothing.
Have a great time.

Congrats on the deal!

We just bought hockey tickets today! Canadians/Maple Leafs!

BTW, you have the right to call Delta and get your flight moved to a later time since they moved it so much, will not cost you a dime. I have done it several times. You have to sometimes get a bit mean and nasty, but I always start off nice and most of the time I get the change for free (I always state they they made the first change without my consent and I have kids, blah, blah, blah...)

Have a great trip and hope you get the hockey tickets! :goodvibes

Thanks for the great advice. I think I will try calling Delta - it doesn't hurt to try. Congrats on your hockey tickets - that should be a great game!:yay:

You may want to try Stubhub or a few of the ticket agencies as hockey is not that popular among Florida residents and some people dump their tickets. When we were in Florida last Christmas, we went to Fort lauderdale after Disney and got 4 lower bowl seats for a game between the panthers and Bruins for $220.00. The face value was over $100. per ticket. I will try and check it out for you

I just checked the website and you can get seats 7 rows off the ice around the faceoff circle in the end for $55 plus service fees....so 4 tix for approx $250. About the price of 1 at the Air Canada Center. There are tons of tickets with cheaper options. I have purchased tickets from Stubhub for a Miami Dolphins game, a Florida Gators game, Florida Panther games and lots of Michigan Wolverine games. Very reputable place to buy tickets. As I had said a company gives their Tickets to employees who have no interest in hockey and they turn around and sell them for anything that they can get. Especially with the way that there economy is.

Wow, that's awesome - thanks for checking it out and letting me know. It is crazy the prices that we pay here in Canada for watching the same teams live.

:worship::worship: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!:banana:

I was able to book our 6 tickets and parking for about 1/3 of the price I budgeted to pay. I love the DisBoards and all the great people on it - thank you for such great advice. I am so excited that I was able to book it at such a great deal!:woohoo::woohoo:

We don't need to do the Tampa hockey outing this winter as the JETS are back!!! We can see NHL hockey right here in Winnipeg.:cool1:

Congrats on getting tickets... We are trying to catch a game when we are there in late Oct-early Nov. Can't decide on which game.
We have been told its a fabulous place for kids, they have tons of stuff for them to do pregame outside. And apparentally you can get cheap cheap tickets even on game day. Floridians aren't as hockey crazy as us Canadians!! lol

We haven't bought tickets yet simply because Tampa's goalie is a long time friend of hubby's. Looking to hook up with him and his family while we're there. :thumbsup2

Your welcome!! I should have sent you a pm as I have a ticket agent there who discounts the service charge for me since I have purchased a lot of tix from there. Tips from these boards have saved me LOTS of money over the past many years, especially on codes for rental cars since we usually travel at Christmas time. Have fun!!

congrats on being able to take advantage of the discount and the tickets too now ! I"m going the during the crazy week of Oct 15-22 so no discounts for us ho hum. The park is packedddddddddddddddddd. Its just mental the amount of money they charge to watch a hockey game at Air Canada and to see the LEAFS makes it pathetic ha ha.

Congratulations on getting the discount! Every penny saved is one more Dole Whip or Mickey Bar!

As for hockey tickets ... you should see the price of tickets in Phoenix. We paid $14.50 for a regular season game walking up to the ticket office ($4 for the ticket, $10.50 for taxes & fees). For Game 3 vs Detroit, we paid about $50 each for Row 11 between the Blue line and Centre ice ... the day before the game! And they wonder why they're losing money?! Oh well, hopefully when the contract with Glendale runs out they'll move the team to Quebec ... heck, even moving it to Yellowknife would get higher crowds :lmao:

We went to a game in Tampa this past January to see the Leafs. The ticket prices are amazing we sat 3rd row for less than you can even get into the Air Canada centre!!!!

As far as parking we bought a spot when we ordered the tickets and was pretty happy with that. The traffic got a little nuts once we got close to the arena (it was a bad storm too so that didn't help) so it was great to be able to show that stub and get out of the traffic right away. The parking garage never got very full so there must be a lot of parking options though. We found it hilarious that to walk from the garage to the arena they had people out there to give you umbrellas - pretty impressive.

Thanks for the great advice. I called Delta today and they were super nice. The lady I spoke to told me that there were no afternoon flights that she could see but could I fly on a different day, I said, sure, I can fly on the Saturday or Sunday so she booked me on a great flight on Saturday and made sure all of our seats were together. Best of all, it didn't cost me anything and we got an extra day at Disney!:banana:

And I just booked the Ramada Suites at the Airport for the extra night for $51 - it includes complementary shuttle and hot breakfast. :woohoo::woohoo:

HOORAY!!! :dance3:

Nice! great news on the extra day! I am going to try that for our 2013 trip, since i only have DVC points for 6 nights.

You know what I did for our reservations? I went through AMA, and shockingly, they had some great discounts. We are staying at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel, for $53.01/night instead of the $85.oo they had listed. If you don't have an AMA membership that would be worth looking at, that trip alone would pay for itself.

what is this canadian discount? and can it work if you have free dinning, i know i dreaming there

now as for hockey, from my understanding, unless it's a real popular team tickets should be no problem
it shames me to think i spent $100 for a pre-season game last week in canada, between the wings and flyers, (yes the banana game)

Congrats on the free dining. It is likely a better deal than the Cdn discount. I wasn't expecting any type of discount so was pleasantly surprised when I saw our dates were applicable so was able to call and get it.

I can't believe that I got 6 hockey tickets and parking for 2 cars for a total of $83 with the tickets from Stubhub arriving within a week of ordering them. I am so impressed and happy.:dance3:

Since I got such a deal on the hockey tickets, I booked the 2 boys for the Pirate Adventure from the Grand Floridian on the morning of our "Hockey Night in Tampa". The pirate adventure for the 2 boys is $73 so our 6 hockey tickets are actually cheaper.:rotfl:
