Guilty of Being Innocent of Eating Too Little! ~ July 2011 Dining Review *Next Trip!

I tried a brownie paw for the first time on our last trip and your picture reminds me of just how good it was.

I love your description of Pizzafari being very Animal Kingdom-y. That's one thing I like about that place. The pizza always seems okay to me.

Your ice cream looks great, too. Is it ever possible for a meal to earn two Jack Sparrows?

Haha, thanks! Hmm.. two Jack Sparrows? What an awesome idea! I actually never considered it before. I just might have to try that out... ;)

Day 6

Now when I say “late breakfast,” I actually mean eating around 9:00. To the rest of the world (who sleeps in most days and forgoes park openings), 9:00 actually means early breakfast. So, when we reached the Riverside Mill Food Court, we found ridiculous lines at most every station and about a ten minute wait to pay for our food. :scared1: So, we all decided to head over the bakery station for our main selection, which hardly had any line at all.

My mom and dad each got cold cereal and split a Cherry Danish:

Andrew and I each got a Cinnamon Roll:

And I also got a side of sausage:

Cold cereal is just that… cold cereal. On the other hand, the cherry danish and cinnamon rolls were delicious! I was actually surprised that they were still very fresh this “late” in the morning. The sausage was also really good. Much better than the bacon!

Overall, this breakfast receives a…

Shocker, I know. This is the first time the Riverside Mill Food Court has gotten anything less than Captain Jack. (Darn cereal….;))

The total today was $18.98.

Up next: Lunch at a tavern!

That ice cream sandwich is awesome. I discovered it here on the dis boards a few years ago. We split @ least 2 of them last trip & they were extraordinary!:cloud9:

I just keep on seeing those ice cream sandwiches which makes me drool. Main Street Ice Cream parlor is must do place during parade wait for our family!

You're doing a fantastic job! Can't wait for more...:goodvibes

Thank you! I appreciate it! :goodvibes

Yup, they are the best! You should try eating a whole one next time. It is quite an accomplishment :thumbsup2

Haha! Yes, I just love eating on Main Street!

Sorry for the lack of updates everyone! I've been really busy with classes, homework, projects, exams, and work. I'll try to post more this weekend! Thanks for reading along!

Also, just because you all would appreciate this:

We have a movie theater on campus and Pirates of the Caribbean 4 is playing this week! :woohoo: I'm going with a group of friends to see it tomorrow and we are all dressing up as pirates. Sooooo excited! pirate:

Good for you! Enjoy the little bit of down time that you have! Please post a photo of the movie group in costume, as well! It will help all us older folks remember our campus experiences from decades past...:hippie:

Thanks Krissalee!! We all had an awesome time! There were 8 of us that ended up going. 6 of us dressed up, but 2 of the others decided to go as landlubbers :sad2:

I must say, it was quite a sight to see 6 pirates walking around campus. I know everyone in line was totally impressed with us. The people that we bought our tickets from started laughing hysterically when we asked them what movie was playing. :rotfl:

I'll definitely post some pictures once I get them upload to my computer and onto photobucket. :thumbsup2

Day 6 – Liberty Tree Tavern

After breakfast we headed back to the Magic Kingdom (can you tell it’s our favorite park?). We split up - Andrew and my dad went to Space Ranger Spin, while my mom and I listened to the Citizens of Main Street. They were awesome as always! We then went to the MISICI Street Party and Pirates of the Caribbean. After that we met my dad and brother back on Main Street. While we were there, we happened to run into Lee DeWyze (winner of American Idol, Season 9) and his girlfriend, Jonna Walsh.

We found out later that he was doing a photo shoot in the Rose Garden, as he had proposed to Jonna while in WDW.

After the celebrity spotting, we went on a few more attractions and watched the parade at noon. Once that was done we went to check in at Liberty Tree Tavern.

Liberty Tree Tavern is our absolute favorite place to eat in the Magic Kingdom! Would this meal live up to our expectations?

We were seated promptly and our server, Russell, came over to greet us and take our order. I just have to say that he was an outstanding waiter and took excellent care of us! :thumbsup2

Freshly Baked Rolls with Honey Butter
101_0757.jpg

If you go to LTT for lunch, make sure you ask for the rolls with honey butter. They are so light and fluffy and incredibly delicious, especially with a generous amount of honey butter slathered all over. We made quick work of these, but declined Russell’s offer for more as we didn’t want to get too full just yet.

My dad, mom, and Andrew each got the turkey dinner:

Pilgrims' Feast - traditional roast turkey with herb bread dressing, mashed potatoes and a garden vegetable ($14.99)
101_0762.jpg

They loved this! The turkey was very moist and tender, the dressing and mashed potatoes were as delicious as always, and the green beans were excellent and very flavorful.

As you might remember from before, Andrew loves his mac and cheese. He was in heaven, when he asked for a side of it and received this huge platter:
101_0765.jpg

Andrew ate this entire thing, save for a few spoonfuls that the rest of us consumed.

I departed from tradition and ordered this:
101_0761.jpg

Angus Chuck Cheeseburger - topped with bacon and cheddar or mushrooms and provolone served with fresh fruit or tavern fries ($12.99)

I chose to go with the bacon and cheddar and substituted a salad with strawberry vinaigrette for the fries/fruit. This is the BEST burger I have ever had in my entire life. It was cooked to perfection (medium well) and was absolutely scrumptious! And I love the strawberry vinaigrette salad dressing, so I was delighted with this substitution.

We all loved our meals so much and we completely cleaned our plates!

Overview:

Even though we were pretty full, we couldn’t pass up this dessert:
101_0766.jpg

101_0767.jpg

Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake - vanilla cake with a gooey toffee filling, vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce ($6.49)

I don’t even know how to describe the wonderfulness of this dessert. It is a luscious combination of this moist, ooey cake filled with toffee, topped with a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream and smothered with hot fudge, caramel sauce, and more toffee. It is INCREDIBLE!

Please promise me that you will order this if you ever go to LTT. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

I bet you can’t guess what rating this meal receives….
jack.jpg

Then again, maybe you could. ;)

The total for this meal with tax and tip was $90.

***Tip – If you want to dine at a table service restaurant, but want to save a bit of money, try eating there for lunch. You can normally save a significant amount, by just eating earlier. You can even have a late lunch (around 3:00) and just have a snack later on.

Up next: We tackle the biggest dessert in the world!

As promised here are a couple of pictures from our Pirate Movie Night.

Guess what? I have another pirate themed event to tell you all about! I am a Math Club Officer (yup, I'm a nerd :thumbsup2), so in honor of Talk Like a Pirate Day we have decided to set up a math/pirate treasure hunt around campus for our members. It is going to be epic! pirate:

Day 6 – Sweet Splurge

With our bellies full of goodness, we headed back to our room. We took a nap, freshened up, and headed over to Epcot for the evening. We hit a few attractions in Future World and then headed to Japan, where my mom did the Pick-a-Pearl. We left it there so they could make it into a necklace and decided to pick it up later. After a while, we left World Showcase out the other entrance and headed over to the Beach Club. By this point it was 8:00, so we were hungry once again. We checked in at Beaches and Cream and only waited about 10 minutes for a table.

What were we going to order, you ask?

101_0803.jpg

That’s right. The Kitchen Sink. We decided to go all out, since we hadn’t consumed enough calories at this point in time. :scared1:

The kitchen sink is HUGE! There is a ton of ice cream (8 scoops in fact – we chose vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, butter pecan, and mint chocolate chip), hot fudge, butterscotch, peanut butter, pineapple topping, strawberry topping, marshmallow topping, chocolate syrup, gummy candy, sponge cake, brownies, chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, sprinkles, toasted almonds, bananas, strawberries, about 20 cherries, and an entire can of whipped cream! It is definitely big enough for 4 and could easily feed 5.

And here is the picture you have all been waiting for. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you, THE KITCHEN SINK!
101_0812.jpg

This is no challenge for the faint of heart. It will take at least 4 people to finish this off. After a while the ice cream really starts to melt, so you eventually end up with a big puddle of ice cream soup. Andrew decided the best way to deal with this is to employ the use of a straw. Clever, eh?

Well, unfortunately we weren’t able to finish the entire thing. We had a little less than an inch of ice cream soup left. There were four other families that ordered the Kitchen Sink while we were there and our waitress told us we ate the most out of all of them. Yay, we are able to shovel the most amount of ice cream into our bodies! I guess that’s something to proud of. :thumbsup2

With tax and tip, this came to $30.55.

This was one awesome sundae, so it willingly receives a…
jack.jpg

Okay, so here is where it gets interesting. It was about 8:45 when we realized that we still hadn’t picked up my mom’s new pearl necklace. So, my mom and I decided that we could in fact leave the Beach Club, enter back into Epcot, and get to Japan before the store closed at 9:00 for Illuminations.

It was around 8:50 by the time we put our plan into action…. So did we make it there in time? :confused3

Check back to find out!

Ahoy me hearties! I do appologize for me lack of updates. I just got back from me cousin's wedding, which was a 10 hour journey north. That combined with quite a pile of homework has kept me from being a faithful writer. Thanks mates for understanding!

Glad you are back! Loved the kitchen sink review! It is always just DH and me at WDW, so we can never do it, but I guess we will need to start ice cream training our nephews so when they get older, we can tackle the kitchen sink!

I had some catching up to do on your reviews! The kitchen sink looks so epic, I would love to try that with a group of people some day! And by the way I was also an officer of our Math Society in college. We did an awesome math murder mystery that turned out to be the event of the year! Hope your event went well!

maybe I'm weak, but the Kitchen Sink Sundae totally made my stomach do a flip! That's just a big pile of nasty !!

Liberty tree Tavern looked good!!! We haven't been there, but we might need to !!

The Kitchen Sink looks like a fun thing to try. I'd say being able to eat more ice cream than anyone else is something to be proud of. :thumbsup2

We're going to Liberty Tree Tavern in a few days, but dinner instead of lunch. I've always thought that Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake looked good.

Heck yes! Sounds like a brilliant plan to me :thumbsup2

Yeah, you definitely need a few people with you if you try and tackle the Kitchen Sink. It is a great group activity!

That's really cool that you were in a Math Society. And a math murder mystery sounds awesome! I may just have to bring that idea up at our next meeting.

I hope you had a wonderful wedding and a great time at Disney for your honeymoon!! :goodvibes

You really can't go wrong with LTT. Everything there is always so good!

Haha! Thanks! The dinner there is amazing! I know they had just changed the dessert while we were there and our server said it was awesome - definitely his favorite dessert after the Ooey Gooey Toffe Cake. Hope you have a marvelous dinner there! :woohoo:
