All together now:

Put on your yarmulke, here comes Hanukkah
Its so much fun-akkah to celebrate Hanukkah,

Hanukkah is the festival of lights,
Instead of one day of presents, we have eight crazy nights.

When you feel like the only kid in town without a x-mas tree, heres a list of
People who are Jewish, just like you and me:

David Lee Roth lights the menorrah,
So do James Caan, Kirk Douglas, and the late Dinah Shore-ah

Guess who eats together at the Karnickey Deli,
Bowzer from Sha-na-na, and Arthur Fonzerrelli.

Paul Newmans half Jewish; Goldie Hawns half too,
Put them together--what a fine lookin' Jew!

You don't need deck the halls or jingle bell rock
Cause you can spin the dreidel with captain Kirk and Mr. Spock--both Jewish!

Put on your yarmulke, it's time for Hanukkah,
The owner of the Seattle super sonic-ahs celebrates Hanukkah.

O.J. Simpson-- not a Jew!
But guess who is...hall of famer Rod Carew--(he converted!)

We got Ann Landers and her sister Dear Abby,
Harrison Fords a quarter Jewish--not too shabby!

Some people think that Ebeneezer Scrooge is,
Well, he's not, but guess who is: all Three Stooges.

So many Jews are in show biz--
Tom cruise isn't, but I heard his agent is.

Tell your friend Veronica, it's time you celebrate Hanukkah
I hope I get a harmonica, on this lovely, lovely Hanukkah.

So drink your gin-and-tonic-ah, and smoke your mara-juanic-ah,
If you really, really wanna-kah, have a happy, happy, happy, happy
Hanukkah. Happy Hanukkah!

Anytime you can use Arthur Fonzerelli in a report, you know it's going to be good! I'm sure I just dated myself as well.

:welcome: to my trip report. We've only got 67 days until our mixed up, mixed faith trip to Disneyland. :upsidedow

  • tears
  • hidden souvenirs

  • beach photos
  • drool worthy park and GCV photos
  • lots of laughs at my expense I'm sure :teeth:

Now I'm excited to read it! :hyper:

Stayed tuned for the who, what, where, when, and why. :goodvibes

Saved for the ToC. :flower3:

Having been to Disneyland hundreds of times, I won't bore you all with all of our photos but do have a few worth sharing from our last two Disneyland trips

WAYHEY Doll, totally up for the craic:dancer:

The Who of this entourage:

Me: Disney planner extraordinaire, happiest when life is active but drama free which is about 99% of the time. Loves all things Disney almost to the point of Intervention.

Michael: DH, :firefight, keeper of our kingdom and gives us a nice life, likes to play Disney-hard-to-get.

Gabby: oldest DD, total moody teenage PITA but sweet and kind and socially minded.

Chloe, middle DD, sweet, soulful, stubborn! Loves all things Disney like moi and is quite the chef.

Joshua: DS, we've ruined him. He's spoiled with attention. He's babied by me and his sisters. He'll never find a woman good enough for him.

The What: A trip to Disneyland of course. However, this trip is their gift for Hanukkah. Hanukkah this years begins Dec 21, runs 8 nights, so over Christmas Eve and Day, and the 21st is Chloe's birthday. :faint:

The trip will also entail, aside from 3-4 days with The Mouse, another 4 days in So Cal :cloud9: Maybe a night in Vegas on the way home depending on mode of travel.

The Why: When it comes to Disney there really doesn't need to be a why however, I've got a super duper why! My kids cannot think of anything to ask for, other than outrageous gifts I would never buy them, for Hanukkah. That leads me to believe that a)they are the most grateful children on the planet aside from Tiny Tim. :rotfl2: Or b)they have too much crap like most of their friends. I'm going with b. I'm a realist. They aren't perfect. I'm far from perfect. But we are a loving healthy family and I wouldn't change it for the world.

The Where: Disneyland babyee at the Grand Californian Villas. I love my DVC. :lovestruc Like I would divorce Michael and marry my DVC. It is by far the best decision with regards to vacationing that we have ever made. I won't get into a whole DVC spiel yet but trust me, it's fabulous! I'd be happy to answer any questions too. :goodvibes

As stated before we'll also have 4 days in So Cal with my bestie prior to Disneyland/DCA. Can't wait, love her, we've been friends for about 35 years. Weird since I am still 29 but Disney Fuzzy Math works in all sorts of contexts. :thumbsup2

The When: Most of our dates are solid. We're either leaving Utah Nov 23 or 24 depending on if we fly or drive. We'll be checking in to the GCV on Nov 27 for 3 nights, debating on adding a 4th which in turns lead me to want a 5th night.....long thought process...I'll get to that in a bit.

The How: DVC for accommodations. Watching the WoC from the balcony with the kids in their jammies sipping hot cocoa is about as magical as it gets. :cloud9:

As far as getting to So Cal, the mode remains undetermined. :hyper:

DH wants to fly, the kids want to drive, I hate to fly and love to drive but would rather fly to con DH out of another day at Disney. :upsidedow Kepiche?

Fan-fairy-tastic looking forward to all you obsessive planning my Lovely :thumbsup2

I can make any PS (Disneyland's version on ADRs) at the 60 day mark which is only 11 days away! I've got some major decisions to make such as:

If we do the WoC, will we do the WCT dining, the picnic, or FP it.

If we do Fantasmic! will we do the dessert seating or wing it?

Any other PS? Storyteller's does a nice Chip n Dale breakfast that Chloe just loved last time. Carnation Cafe? Do I surprise the gang with a waterside table at the Blue Bayou for lunch? :hyper: So much to decide!!!!

I'm excited for you!! :dance3:

:thanks: I am really looking forward to it. I need to decide on the whole flight thing too.

Here's my adding another day or 2 concern:

If the DVC doesn't have a villa then it means we'd switch to the Disneyland Hotel for one night. I hate moving for one night. That means I'd have to add two nights but won't give DH the vacation/work day buffer he likes. pirate:

I think that the PS thing I like Cafe Orleans because I love the outdoor seating. I love Fantasmic I have wanted to do the dessert for that.

I would not want to move for a night. That makes much more work for you.

This WDW girl thanks you for the translation of PS, lol!

Do the Blue Bayou for lunch!! And take lots of pictures!! That was one of my favorite areas in VMK. Would love to see it in real someday!

What's the specialty at Cafe Orleans?

Moving for a night bites! We did it last trip and its a total pain. :headache:

A waterside table at the Blue Bayou is pretty cool but even a row away from the water and it loses some magic. The first 11 am lunch seating is a must. I'll take a ton of pics if we do it.

With only 3 full days I am leery to make too many PS. :hyper:

Their specialty is the Pommes Frites and the Mickey shaped beignets. They also make a mean onion soup. Here is their menu.

I agree about the 11 am seating is a must. I am kind of not wanting to make PS myself for my February trip too. The only meal I will do that for is for our Valentines Day meal.

Yum! I love gumbo minus the orkra. Wonder if theirs is any good? And beignets; wonder if you can just for dessert?

Ooooo, what meal? Something romantic? Napa Rose?

I would bet that they do. I know that Blue Bayou does.

Well, there is a micro-brewery restaurant across the street from our hotel that we are going to eat at I think. Scotty loves that sort of thing. I know that during the week we are there the park will have the short hours so I was thinking a late dinner there. The beauty being that we can walk back and forth to dinner. I put a link to the menu in my trip report.
