Okay, we have booked our airfare for our trip, so it's pretty much confirmed. December 3rd - 6th. I'm hoping we will get to see the Macy's parade and Grinchmas while we're there. Can anyone tell me, historically, when they have started in December?

I just got an annual pass mailing today that showed Macy's and grinchmas starting December 3rd!

Yep, got the AP news letter on Monday and it starts December 3rd. We will be there 2-5th.:thumbsup2

Every year it always starts the first Saturday of December.

You will be in luck...everything will begin on 12/3 and I wouldn't be surprised if Mannheim Steamroller performs on 12/3 for the first night of the Holiday Concert Series at the Studios.

OH, YAY!!!! I AM SO HAPPY TO HEAR THIS! THANK YOU!!!

Resurrecting this thread for one more question: On the Universal website, I see that during our trip, US closes at 7:00 on Saturday and 6:00 Sun, M, and Tue. Do the parade and concert happen after that time? Because it also says the parade is at dusk, and I know the concert is after the parade, so I can't imagine they could both occur before 6:00. Does anyone know how that works? Thanks. :)

If memory serves...the concerts usually start between 7:30pm and 8pm.

Yep, the parade starts before the concert. Right after the parade is done the concert starts. So if you want to see the concert that night and be close you need to skip the parade.:thumbsup2

Also if I remember the concert is only on the Saturday nights only.
But the parade is every night.

Thanks for the replies. So we will plan for the concert on Saturday night. That stinks that you can't see the parade from the concert area, but I guess we'll catch it another night. We will have 3 nights there, so no worries! Can't wait!!!

You can see the parade from the concert area but if you want a good spot for the concert, you need to get there early. Concerts at the Universal Music Plaza are standing room only...no seating...so people who arrive early get the best views of the stage. There are huge video screens on either side of the stage so you can see from a ways back. Once you see the layout it might make more sense to you.
