Scaredy Cat Guide to IOA?

I'm clearly not the only wimp on here, but would love a run down of all the rides (or at least the best ones) at IOA and how scary they are. How do I define "scary?" Fast and has drops.

I was at IOA once before in 2005 for a couple hours and we didn't get to do much. I Loved Bilge Barge Rats, but didn't try any scarier stuff.

For WDW comparison, I thought I'd die on EE - I never even saw the Yeti because my face was buried in my hands, never again . I can handle Splash Mt, but don't enjoy the drop. I have never done ToT or RnR and don't plan to. I'm hoping to finally get up the nerve for Space Mt this time. What I can handle: motion simulators (though I find Dinosaur is a little rough and makes me a tad queasy, I like Soarin) Test Track, Kali is dull, BTMR is ok.

I'm just a whimp . Any words of advice? What to avoid? What to take the chance on? I plan to do FJ.

Avoid IOA.

Seriously, all the best rides there are fast and have drops. But I guess you could just walk around and admire the theming. Or ride the Dr. Seuss stuff. Not sure I'd pay the admission fee for IoA and miss out on Hulk, Dragons, Hulk, Spider-Man, Hulk and Jurassic Park. I usually skip Fear Fall, not because it's terrifying but because it's kinda dull -- but I'm sure that one would horrify you as well.

PS: Did I mention Hulk?

Wondering the same things! I'm a sissy, and my kids just aren't huge thrill-seekers yet... but we REALLY want to see Harry Potter, Dr. Suess... and of course, DH, our only thrill-seeker wants to go so bad.... wondering if we should just send him while we stay at the pool.

if you can do FJ, you should be able to handle a few of the 'scary' rides.


try spiderman, you'll enjoy it.
it has some spinning but not in the way you'll become ill over it.

It wouldn't be the first time I sent someone on a ride that made them sick.

Popeye & Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges
Flight of the Hippogriff (kiddie coaster, no drops, is fast for a kiddie coaster, but still very fun)
Forbidden Journey
everything in Seuss Landing

USF:
You'd be pretty fine here.
Avoid: Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit
Try: Revenge of the Mummy (it's a small roller coaster, but the coaster part is only 45 seconds long. It's comparable to Space Mountain; less intense than Everest)

If you can handle Forbidden Journey and Mummy, you'll be very proud of yourself!

Well, may I say that its comforting to hear there are others out there who don't long for the next thrill ride? Here I thought I was the only one!

For all those that don't like big drops, being turned upside down, or anything spinny, I will be looking for company on the Caro-Seuss-el . Feel free to join me there . I won't be hard to miss....I'm sure I will be the only rider over the age of 10 .

I know Hulk is a coaster. That's a no.

We're going to a Disney Wedding and one day the whole wedding party is doing IOA (we're all huge HP fans). I am the only one who hates thrill rides so I am prepared to sit on a bench eating ice cream and holding people's purses while they ride. Wave to me from the carousel, Gina-Gina-Bo-Bina!

Sorry, but I've got to give caution on Mummy. I tried it after reading that it was about the same intensity as Space Mountain, but I found it much worse. I screamed non-stop and had my eyes closed the entire time. The coaster part is short, but I it felt way too long to me. Never, ever again. (I was find on Space Mountain, but no desperate need to do it again anytime soon.)

Spider man is a moving car/simulator. I loved, loved, loved both it and Forbidden Journey.

I didn't do a lot of "rides" at IOA, but the atmosphere was so fabulous and I enjoyed myself immensely just walking around.

Dudley Do-Right and Jurassic Park are similar, yet different. JP is a slow moving big boat (5 rows of 5). There are only two drops, a small one at the top of the big hill, then the 81ft drop where a t-rex is trying to bite your head off!

Ripsaw is a slow moving log ride (5 riders, individual seats & lapbars). There are three drops, two little ones (about 15-20ft), then the 75ft drop at the end. Ripsaw doesn't have a dinosaur trying to bite your head off, but it is wetter.

Spider-Man doesn't have a comparison. It's a slow moving dark ride, with 3D effects and simulation effects. The car does spin at times, and the "rising and falling" motions are partially real, but mostly simulated.
