I see on AAA's website that you get a 10% discount at "most of the 100 shops/restaurants in Universal parks and CityWalk". We are AAA members and are planning on spending a day or two at Universal/IoA. We're eating lunch at Mythos and I'm sure will purchase a few things around the park(s). Is it generally everywhere you can get the 10% discount or is it far and few between? Thanks for any help! :goodvibes

You can get a discount just about anywhere so make you show your card.

Flash that card as much as you can. We just got back, and saved a bundle. Everywhere we went, the first thing I asked was about the discount.

There were some times we couldn't use it. For example, can't be used on books...go figure:upsidedow

do show the card before you order food.

i didn't once and the order had to be redone.

why, ??
i dunno.

Thanks everyone! I just read that you can get a 10% discount on food at Sea World too (we're also going there). I'm going to be asking everyone if I can get a discount!

Good to know about asking before I order/it's rung up! I sometimes hate using coupons/discounts because it seems like they don't want you to get a discount :confused3.

With 10% off and 5 adults, that can end up being quite a savings! :thumbsup2

That's interesting about the books! "We'll give you a discount on feeding you and that stuffed animal that will end up at the bottom of a closet in 3 weeks, but we will NOT discount your educational entertainment!" ;)

The discount is not valid at food "carts", just restaurants.

You may want to also check out www.orlandocoupons.com for discounts at CityWalk restaurants. The 10% AAA discount is valid at CityWalk shops and restaurants too however some of the coupons at this website offer discounts greater than 10%. There are also coupons for free CityWalk Party Passes if you're interested in visiting their night clubs.

We are planning to buy IOA 1-day tickets at the gate when we arrive. Will showing our AAA card then give us a discount off tickets?

Is this true for the meal plans as well? (I know most say that the meal deal isn't worth it, but my almost-16-year-old eats constantly .... the every-two-hours-yet-never-gains-an-ounce kind of constantly  ... and will certainly get his money's worth on the plan).

And are CAA cards honoured the same as AAA?

Definitely flash the card!

Some of the other exclusions we experienced were at chain restaurants (like Bubba Gumps at City Walk) and at NBA City- NBA merchandise was not discounted, but an NBA City t-shirt was eligible for the AAA discount.

We found the same thing as previous posters at the carts- you could get a discount on butterbeer if you purchased it at 3 Broomsticks or Hogs Head, but not at the carts.

No...the meal plan is already discounted. I believe the CAA cards are treated the same as AAA cards.

CAA and AAA are the same.
10% discount.

no additional discounts on the meal deal as they are already discounted.

Why not save time and buy them before you go at an AAA office or at AAA.com?

That is what we are planning on doing so we don't have to wait in the ticket line.

Thanks for the info on AAA discount @ seaworld. We are going there as well and didn't know about the 10% discount. In case you didn't know AAA also has discounted Seaworld tickets including a meal through the AAA site. Just a FYI.:)
