How Do You Think We Stay So Happy?*Final Thoughts & Farewells* 10/7 p100

What a great video - I loved it! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to ride TSMM and loved your story of TS3 and how you related to it - how sweet and I'm sure any person would be in tears with having that attachment to the movie.

Love all the pics of the YC/BC as well as of the dolphin fountain. I think you should start a seperate TR for all your mini trips - look forward to reading about them :goodvibes

Well, THAT post made me tear up a bit...at least the TS 3 part. :goodvibes So, you mean it really does go by that fast?? I was just thinking that when we were out for dinner Saturday night. I was tickling Max and hugging and kissing him and I thought, wow...in a just a couple of years he won't want me to do that anymore!

Yes and No - sometimes it seems like things are moving so slow, but most of the time you blink you eyes and time has flown. I remember TS1 like it was yesterday. My kids watched it over and over and then to sit in the theatre with Andy grown - yup it got me because that's exactly how fast it happened.

When Brian turned into a teen it hit me all of a sudden, with Nick I remember having an awareness of it right before it happened and then "Poof" they are all grown up.

Great update and I love all the YC/BC pictures. I really did fall in love with in this past July. Its just such a pretty area and any reservations I had about whether or not I would like the theme pretty much evaporated. The YC, in particular, is very pretty and I wouldn't mind staying on that side at some point. I had been scared off of it when I was told that the walk to EPCOT would be really long but, personally, I don't think the whole YC/BC area is that big, really. Especially when you're used to hoofing it around Coronado Springs (or any of the mods, for that matter).

Exactly - the mods are huge compared to the BW area and you can duck in and out of buildings if you get too hot (which I obviously did). It is a great area. I hope you do get to stay at YC. I probably never will because of owning DVC, but I can still dream.

Hello my friend:hug:

If it's not your pictures that make me well up, it's your words. TS was the first movie I ever took Jasmine to in the movie theatre and now look at us with college age kids....I'm still crying!

That's right - Jasmine is exactly Andy's age. Brian is a year younger. I think we saw the movie in the theatre first - it's hard to remember. I just know I was mesmerized by it at the time. The technology was so unique, so new. And then to watch the 3rd episode when they were graduating high school. :sad1: Yup - tear jerker.

Great pictures....I could seriously live at the YC, I don't think there is anyplace more beautiful....my dream has always been to have a beach house and decorate it in white, blue and yellow....believe though, unless I win the lottery, it won't happen:lmao:

The YC is seriously beautiful and I liked how its tucked sort of in a corner, almost like an after thought. Talk about well kept secret.

I hope you guys had a fabulous trip and Welcome Back!

Looks like you had a fun afternoon! Great photo tour! :thumbsup2. I am going to have to consult my pictures to figure out what I did. I know I bought some kitchen items like small plastic plates and bag clips to keep in my Owner's Locker (ahem-purchase enabled by Tracy ;)). Then I think I walked "home" and probably hit the pool. It is funny but I always walk between DHS and Beach Club...I have never taken the boat. :confused3

Glad you like the pics!

I'm pretty sure we all met up at the pool. I know there was rum and coke involved for Cynthia and I because I remember taking a mug full back into the park that evening. :rolleyes1 Well, we were leaving the next day and someone needed to drink it.

I do love the walk between HS and BC. I guess I figured it would be cooler on the boat - NOT! Should have walked.

Ahhh, the ditch. Wish we could all meet there this afternoon!!

Seriously. How great would that be????? I wish I could just find a place around here that had half decent ritas. For weeks after I got home I was craving the cave ritas!

Glad you had fun in Williamsburg. I saw on FB that you and Denny were flying the friendly beer skies. :upsidedow. Would love to hear more about your Dec plans too! :thumbsup2

It was a lot of fun and we did drink our fair share of beer. I will say that BG does have a healthy selection of beer products! ;) I wish I had written down the name of everything I drank.

Amazing song & video!! You are very talented! :goodvibes

Amy - thank you so much for watching and listening. I really appreciate it!

TS3 made me tear up a bit and my boys are still little compared to yours! But yes time does fly!

It really was so sad, but such a great movie. I never buy movies anymore, but I knew as soon as I saw it that I needed to have my very own copy.

You are lucky you decided to skip NH this year... If you'd been up here during the hurricane you might have gotten stranded! A bunch of roads & bridges were washed out - especially up in the Lincoln area!

How weird is that? It's so strange because I had a terribly hard time deciding where to go. I could NOT make up my mind for the longest time and I kept wondering what my problem was. I think we ended up being really lucky that I picked Williamsburg, although I will get up to those White Mountains one of these days.

I love the pictures from your walk back to the BC! :thumbsup2

Thank you!

Awww your Toy Story story is too sweet. That is sort of my timing with the show Gilmore Girls (I know, not Disney, but still!), which I absolutely adore, and my school years lined up perfectly with the main character's. The show concluded with her graduating college pretty much the exact same week I did, so I TOTALLY get your feelings with Toy Story!

Isn't that weird how timing can coincide like that? That's the first time I've ever had that experience. When I saw TS3 in the movie theatre I was like a blubbering idiot. It was terrible. I had to put my sun glasses one and literally look away from the screen.

Great pictures around the Epcot resort area!

Thanks. glad you liked since you are YC girl!

I can totally relate on TS3. I went with DS to see it and yes I welled up. He is close to that age and TS was one of his favorites.

Whoever wrote that script knew what they were doing! They knew there would be a theatre full of moms sending kids off to college sniffling in their sleeves. Thank goodness for tissues!

What a great idea to walk back to BC. I have taken that walk but I see someting new everytime.

I am glad I ditched the boat. It was way to stuffy in there and the views on the walk home were wonderful.

Great pictures of my new "home" I will enjoy exploring the Villas area.

:

Have you stayed there before? If not, you will absolutely love it. Such a great resort. Perfection!

Do tell about the "Ditch". It might need to be on the short list for my upcoming trip.

Well - let's just say this - I had a really hard time getting to the Ditch. I was supposed to go in May 2010 and I ended up on flagyl and couldn't drink. Then Jen and I skipped it in September because we didn't know they had "to go" ritas. Then I mistakenly took a Flagyl before this years trip and I was not able to go to the Ditch on my first night as originally planned. So - I finally made it and the ritas are truly awesome. Pictures coming with my next update! :thumbsup2

What a great video - I loved it! :thumbsup2

Thanks so much for watching. I'm really glad you liked it!

You will love TSM. It's really fun. For me it's really hard because I (1) stink at it (2) It hurts my arm to pull the string that much. Yes - I am a TSM wimp! :rotfl:

TS3 is probably my fav Disney movie right now because of that. I watched it two nights before Brian left. :sad1: I tried to get him to watch it with me, but he had just watched it not too long ago for the same nostalgic reason.

Love all the pics of the YC/BC as well as of the dolphin fountain. I think you should start a seperate TR for all your mini trips - look forward to reading about them :goodvibes

Glad you like the pics.

I think I will start a separate TR for all my more recent trips. I would like to start it right here instead of the PTR page, because by the time I am done this TR it will be time to write about Hilton Head. I should pm one of the moderators and see if I can start it here as one continuous TR.

Mary Ellen, your pictures are always so lovely! I feel like I just spent a few minutes strolling around with you! :) And don't worry, I always do poorly at TSMM! I even have the Wii version and I'm bad at that too!

Thanks Stace! I actually edited those pictures so long ago I really forgot what I had. I enjoyed looking at them myself because each one was a new surprise.

And don't worry, I always do poorly at TSMM! I even have the Wii version and I'm bad at that too!

Well, now I don't feel so bad. I kind-of wondered if the Wii helped improved your TSM score. I guess that's a "No". :rotfl:

Mary Ellen,
Great job on the video, the work you put into that is amazing and very impressive!! You have talent young lady. :)

Now on to TS3. When I saw the previews for that the summer before it came out I was in the theater with my girls and I was soo moved by just the preview that they both declared that seeing the actual movie with me might be embarrassing. lol I just couldn't believe little Andy was going to college, because my son was leaving 2 months after that (his third year just began! Yikes!!) and I was a wreck anyways. So safe to say, TS3 is my 'go to movie' when I am sad. Or really happy. How ironic how bittersweet a little cartoon can be!!

And in response to your question should you start your PTR now, and include your other trips, I don't see why the mods would have a problem with it. I read a TR not long ago where the family went to Alaska and the whole TR was about that. so just talk about Disney every couple posts and I don't see the difference. :thumbsup2

I'm really enjoying this wonderful TR and hate to see it end!!

I'm loving all of your updates. The plants at photos of the boardwalk were outstanding!
I like how each of you could go your own way when you felt like it.

We leave early in the morning for WDW. It's going to be fun.

Thanks so much for taking the time to watch it. I really appreciate it! Having this computer really helps move things along. I never know how the actual recording is going to sound until I mix it, but this one turned out OK.

How true! So smart to build Andy leaving for college into the story line. I actually didn't know it was going to be THAT much of a tear jerker until I got there and then I remember thinking, "Oh No!" :rotfl:

I really would prefer to just start writing the whole thing here. I find the PTR section to be a little bit more chaotic and this section is more relaxing. I know that probably sounds weird, but that's just my impression. No offense to anyone writing a PTR is intended. ;)

I'm really enjoying this wonderful TR and hate to see it end!!

No worries - We still have a full 24 hours of fun left, so stick around! :thumbsup2

Thank you! I totally forgot I was photographing the plants! :rotfl: Ironically, I did the same thing at Busch Gardens, but I didn't recognize the similarities until I uploaded those pictures. :goodvibes

We were good traveling companions because we had no trouble doing our own thing, yet our time together was so fun!

We leave early in the morning for WDW. It's going to be fun.

Doris, I hope you have a wonderful trip!!!!!! I know you have been waiting for this for awhile! Safe Travels and post lots of FB pics!!!!!! :woohoo:

The Swan/Dolphin walk pictures are so pretty!

I know those steaks are said to be incredible, but I'm way to cheap to pay eight and nine bucks for corn and macaroni!

Thank you! I am pretty pleased with the way they turned out and I like my edits! :rolleyes1 It helps!

I hear ya on that!!!!! Our bill was pretty high, especially with drinks and two bottles of wine. The TIW card helped quite a bit. I wouldn't go back there without TIW, that's for sure.

I would really like to try Schula's as well. :thumbsup2

I am trying to best decide how to incorporate my W-burg pictures. Of course, I have enough for a multi-day TR. Shocking, I know! I am seriously wondering whether I should just start a new PTR/TR that will include my W-burg trip, my Hilton Head trip, and then my December Disney trip. Do you think I could just start it on the TR boards????

I think you could and should! Just start off outlining the 2 Disney trips and then show us Wburg!

We survived the hurricane without any problems, although I do feel for my friends, like Melissa, who were living off generator power for days. I used my actual hurricane down time to work on a youtube video. It's a song I wrote 9 years ago and I wanted to post it in time for the 10th year anniversary of 9/11. I used my own photos and none of the public photos available from 9/11, but I did that on purpose. I record on garage band on my mac and I used imovie. I made a few mistakes in my haste to get it done, but I am still pleased with the result. If you are interested in viewing it click here http://youtu.be/aR-pQ2I5aRE And thanks to my friends who already viewed it through FB.

I'll check this out tonight, was tied up painting and then out all day yesterday for Eric's bday and can't listen at work but looking forward to it!

But in actuality TSM is hard for me. I don't know why. I guess my hand eye coordination is lacking.
It's hard for me too, seriously dislocating the arm. But it is fun!

We were quickly loaded and pulling away from the dock in no time.

IMG_3490.jpg

I tried to sit back and relax, but it was so stinkin' hot and stuffy in that boat.

IMG_3494.jpg

I was also really thirsty. So, I got an idea. I decided to just disembark at the Swan/Dolphin, duck inside for a drink, and walk the rest of the way back.
So What Did We Do Next? Well, I'm pretty sure it involved some pool time and some rum. And Where Did Cynthia Go? I honestly don't remember. I think she got off the Friendship Boat with me, but I suspect she walked through the Boardwalk area and then home.

It WAS miserable on that boat, we should have walked. I did get off at the Swolphin with you but then did my own separate photo tour which I'll post soon!

I totally forgot you took your rum and coke into the park that night. :rotfl:

Wait - You mean YOU didn't? It was just me? :rotfl: Then I'm sorry I admitted it!!!!! :rolleyes1

Oh - and that's what I was thinking about doing - outlining the two trips then posting about Williamsburg. I also thought it would be fun to compare and contrast BG to Disney, even though its like comparing apples and oranges.

I remember telling MEK how much I enjoyed the AA...

Ok, I know what you're really talking about, but in the context of this Trip Report, this post is HILARIOUS :rotfl:

Hey, look - I'm caught up! Let's see how long that lasts :)

Too much to comment on, but I will say that I love Jiko as well. The food was great when we ate there in 2010, and it was the one meal where the kids were angels. I'd love to go back, but the 2-meal cost makes it tough for us.

Great trip report! Sad to see it's winding down...

Beautiful pictures of the Boardwalk area! I've never walked but we usually take the boat and get off at the Dolphin. I need to slow down and really look around. Your pictures help point out how much I'm missing.

If you had seen what Tracy just had to drink on her birthday, you would know that she is definitely not a fan of the AA to which you are referring! :rotfl: Right Tracy! :rolleyes1

Hey, look - I'm caught up! Let's see how long that lasts :)

I'm impressed! :worship: Thanks for coming over to catch up!!!!! Even I'm not caught up on all my links!

Jiko was really great. My GF is actually taking her three children there in September. I cautioned her that it is definitely an adults meal, but with free dining it was just about all she could get that evening.

I hear ya on the 2 TS credits - It's definitely not worth it when you are using the regular dining plan. I think it would be if they included the app when you use two credits, but they don't and that's where I think it falls short. I know when I do signature dining I want the app. That's part of the whole dining experience.

Great trip report! Sad to see it's winding down...

24 more hours to go, but you KNOW I am a master at stretching that out!

Thank you! That's why I love to take pictures. I missed SO much before I started taking pictures. Now I can go back and actually SEE all I would have missed. Granted - it takes a little longer to take a bunch of pictures, but the end result is so worth it!

Wow! I just read that whole TR from start to finish and it is awesome!

I love that you all met here and there was no drama! Kind of unheard of when a bunch of people get together for a trip, let alone strangers! Gotta love Disney magic.

Also, I love all of the photos!

Thank you for sharing! Can't wait for the rest.

Lisa

Chef DisneyLu Lisa! And Welcome to the DIS boards. It's a great place and, as you can see, a great way to meet people. So happy that you are enjoying our TR and props to you for reading the whole chaotic thing. :worship:

I love that you all met here and there was no drama! Kind of unheard of when a bunch of people get together for a trip, let alone strangers! Gotta love Disney magic.

I think the biggest drama was that all my picture taking was starting to get an little old, so I'll take responsibility for that. In fact, in my next installment I actually left the camera on home. shocking - I know! :rotfl:

I had met Tracy and Christine once before this trip, but this was my first time meeting Jen, Melissa, and Cynthia. I felt like I had known them all along from reading their TRs. It was actually quite natural and I hope we all remain friends for a long time! :thumbsup2

Also, I love all of the photos!

Thanks. glad you are enjoying them.

Thank you for sharing! Can't wait for the rest.

Lisa

You're welcome. Make sure you check out cynthia's signature because she has a TR going over on the cruise line board and I will start another TR by the end of the month to introduce my upcoming trips!

There are TONS of good reports ont he boards. It's sort of an addiction or a guilty pleasure (the later sounds better) ;)

Wait - You mean YOU didn't? It was just me? :rotfl: Then I'm sorry I admitted it!!!!! :rolleyes1

Well...I may have, I am not sure! If I did it is because you volunteered to sherpa it so I could hit Soarin before we hooked up at the ditch. :rotfl: I don't recall carrying my mug but then again you are the master of the carbingers.

I think it's fun to compare, I know I did some of that with Knott's last year.

Hi Ladies! Trying to catch up on all the threads after 2 weeks of travel. Love the updates! So many amazing pics and food porn! My mouth is watering! BD is I think, our all-time best meal ever in the Parks. There are so many to try, but I really think that one is a must do when Jim and I are there alone next.

I love how everyone felt free to do whatever their heart desired, and yet come together for meals or rides without feeling the "stress of togetherness" Well done girls!:thumbsup2 You seem like a well-matched DIS group for sure!

Mary Ellen, I feel your pain with Brian heading off to college. It is such a shock when you realize all your mothering time is pretty much over. :sad1: Then again it makes you proud to know you have done a good job raising him and he is well on his way to being a happy and productive man because of what you've given him - Good job, Mom! TS3 made me seriously cry, too.
