Anyone see the new ride they are planning for 2012 - LEVIATHAN.

With that and Behemoth, they are really putting Canada's Wonderland on the map as one of the premier amusement parks. No need to travel to Sandusky anymore.

Thoughts?

All in all, I think Wonderland is nowhere near the value as a lot of other parks. There's also not a lot of variety in the rides, there are kids rides and rollercoasters with a handful of "amusement park" rides in the mix.

I live one block away and haven't been in 2 years ... I just don't find it worth it, and even if I did, its not the kind of place I can go over and over and over again in a summer season, just doesn't have enough to offer in my opinion.

But yes ... the new coaster looks exciting, will definitely stop by Wonderland next year.

It would be nice if they had a few inclusive rides instead of so many exclusive rides. Inclusive meaning rides that families or multi-generations could enjoy together. Keep the roller coasters, that's great. But it would be nice to have attractions that appealed to a wider crowd because they didn't meake you feel so

The only ride my daughter and I can ride now is the merry go round. She is officially too tall for the rides in kids aone. :(

That's because they brought Sandusky north. Cedar Fair owns CW, and it was not a surprise to me that the first thing they did when they bought it was put in the park's first halfway-decent roller coaster.

I would not classify it as "halfway" decent.

Behemoth is very decent.

The Skyrider, or The Bat, or Flight Deck (The old Top Gun), are all halfway decent.

And now with Leviathan - that is going to be World Class.

We haven't been in a few years because I can't stand the fact that I paid a fortune for admission and then spent most of the time standing in line.....we stood in line for one roller coaster for almost three hours! For us, we'll keep crossing the border for our thrill parks where we get the best bang for our buck.

It is really nice to see Wonderland putting in some quality rides. I'm looking forward to riding Leviathan. Looks like a great, powerful coaster.

I actually think Wonderland is an excellent amusement park. There are tons of flat rides as well as coasters, a nice kiddie area and a nice waterpark. They still need to replace a few more of their old coasters though, but all in due time!

CedarFaire needs to bring one more piece of "The Point" to CW. The quality of Service, and the speed.

Cedar Point does have lines, but their staff are well trained, and know how to move people. The longest i ever waited for a ride there was 1.5 hours for Millennium Force, the year after it opened.

They also need to bring in a "record breaker" attraction. Something different than the rest of the park.. maybe a REAL dark ride -- something like the Haunted Manion or Space Mountain...

(of course they also need to wrap the place up in a weather dome, and open it all year round :)

I like CW really I do. But as others have stated I am spoiled by Disney Fastpass. It kills me to have to wait in line for a ride now!! LOL

This is what I was wondering, have the wait times improved at all? Haven't been to CW in years largely due to wait times. I'm surprised they haven't taken the Universal Studios approach and started to sell a premium, express-pass type ticket.

My dh wants to go every year, but I refuse, even though we only live a half an hour away. We haven't been there in six years, and I just got sick of only being able to go on a few not so thrilling rides in a visit. Nevermind that the place is swarming with teenagers, who make the lines of the good coasters unbearably long! You'd think they'd put a better system in place by now, but I guess if they're still making money, why would they care. We won't be going back anytime soon though.

I worked at wonderland for many years. Met my wife at that park.

Viacom did not know how to run an amusement park. They never really put any big money into it and just sat back and enjoyed the high attendance rates.

Cedar Fair on the other hand is the leading amusement park company proven time and again they know how to bring in the crowds. When they took over the paramount parks I was sure it was going to be a good thing for wonderland.

That said, I have not been to wonderland since before behemoth was built. The ride is nothing special when compared to the stuff at cedar point so I never really got around to going to check it out.

Windseeker is a joke that CF got a "package deal" to install in multiple parks. Im sure they regret the contract as it has been a problem since they installed it.

This new one is interesting. It looks very good. Im a bit surprised by a few things. I was expecting a launch coaster as the one that they have there now does not compare to Top Thrill Dragster. Also, I am surprised that they did not build it just a few feet taller as if they had it would have been the largest non launch coaster in the world and the longest coaster in canada.

More then likely CF will pump most of its money into CW as wonderland has always had a higher attendance and larger revenue then CP due to its location relative to the G.T.A.

Looks like I may pick up a seasons pass for next year. 64.99 is not that bad a price and I am interested in this coaster.

I don't see wonderland "replacing" any coasters anytime soon. We always used to speculate that dragon fyre would be the first ride to get pulled and Cedar Fair just proved that they would rather build on top of an existing ride then spend to take it out.

Cedar Point is still Cedar Fair's premiere park. I think that is why Leviathan won't surprass MF in height. I really thought we'd get a launched coaster as well or perhaps a wing rider of some sort.

Cedar point is not only Cedar Fair's premiere park I would not hesitate to call it the best "amusement" park on the planet.

That said, Wonderland makes more revenue and sees more people then CP. This is due to the location of course.

A "wing rider" coasters are a bit gimmicky in my opinion and tends to go into a park when they have done most everything else. Now that leviathan is going in I could see something like that going in 2 or 3 years down the line.

Yeah, Wonderland is the #1 seasonal amusement park in North America by attendance and pretty sure also for revenue (but not 100% sure on the second point). I'd say Paramount treated it as a second-class citizen compared to some of their American parks, but Cedar Fair isn't afraid to invest in their best performing park. A large part of their attendance is Locals in Toronto, and new attractions keep the locals interested.

At the same time, of course, Cedar Point is by far their flagship park, and still does quite well on it's own (just doesn't benefit from being in the middle of an urban metropolis like Wonderland does). Still... two big coasters for Wonderland in a few short years of Cedar Fair ownership is quite remarkable.

Wouldn't surprise me to see WindSeeker retrofitted during the offseason to correct some issues. Hopefully it doesn't become the new SledgeHammer.

Don't even get me started on Sledge. I opened that ride. Great concept, but way to many things to go wrong.

The most angry I've been at Wonderland occurred when they put in that stupid Time Warp coaster (Tomb Raider). What a waste of money! I'm so glad that Cedar Fair is actually putting in "real" coasters.
