ALOHA! The Polynesian Resort Information Thread: Summer 2011 Edition!

Just popping in for a one month dance!!

:banana::banana::banana:

Can't wait to be relaxing in Hawaii!! We've only got four days in the parks with a couple water park days, so I'm hoping to get a lot of R&R this time around. :)

It will be here before you know it, time flys ! Just hope it doesnt fly when we are at Disney

hey logpey... I was checking out your pics... where did you get the kids snack pack surprise thing?

I ordered through CL and they ordered it from room service. It was around $35.00 and it was delivered first night. I also ordered six chocolate covered strawberries and paid around $40.00. They charged it to my room!:thumbsup It was a lovely surprise to come home (Poly) to! :lovestruc

Hey, weren't you just at DL?! No fair!! :upsidedow

:rotfl: Disneyland was our appetizer...now it's time for the main course!! ;)

Amen to that!! I have so much to do, and I always feel like I'm up all night the night before we leave. It goes so fast once you hit double digits. :upsidedow Be sure to post LOTS of pics when you get back!!!

Ughhhhh....:sad2: cannot decide on the cabana situation. This is a short trip, some great ADRs, so much to do and I can't decide what to do!!! We are a party of 8 - more then likely DD5 and DS10 will be in the pool 95% of the time, but we still need to either rent both small cabanas or the big one (which I am not a fan of the location). Then on top of it I just can't decide on a day or time. Personally, I would like Noon to 4, but that is not an option. I spoke to a CM and if no one has booked either time then we can choose our time (adjust). However, still leaves me with the dilemma of which day Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. We don't want to do Thursday or Monday (1st full and last day). I think I have to make to many decisions at work that my brain is just fried...:headache:

My first full day cabana rental was the day after I arrived, it was the beginning of our trip and I still had entiree vacay to look forward to which made it more exciting. :wizard: A great relaxing way to start the trip, soaking in "Wow, we're really here!":) Maybe, book one regular cabana maybe Friday 11-3, mention you have eight--make sure o.k., I think limit is six, two will be swimmimg most of time anyway, then call Mikala Marina day of rental and see if anyone has rented afternoon, if not see if you could switch time 12-4.

Awesome! I will contact CL about it! We are staying TPV CL in Nov/Dec so I will see if they can have it upon our arrival! Is that what it was called or was it something custom that you ordered? What exactly was in it? I can see candy bars and the mickey rice crispie thing but it was hard to tell anything else?

I know, sorry pic was grainy. Rice crispy treat with dipped chocolate ears, a very tiny dish of reese's pieces, skittles, two candy bars in a waffle cone. Its called a Kids snack cone and it is not a custom order.:thumbsup2 The CL is so helpful, I called asking them for suggestions to surprise kids and thats what they came up with.:thumbsup2 TPV CL, how nice, we usually just book GV CL!

The options are 10-2 or 3-7....if it were 11-3 I would take it....If they would allow me to do one regualar cabana I would do a full day and do the hours I want it for...I'll call and see if I can do it. Thanks!

Work is sucking the life out of everyone at that place :headache: It is only a matter of time before that building implodes from the built up stress! :headache:

I say with such a short trip...save the $$ and just hang by the pool when you want. I would suspect it won't be so crowded??

For us, I could not see the 3 of us rent a Cabana. DD and DH would be at the pool the whole time and I would be sitting there probably eating and drinking myself into a coma. Like I have mentioned in the past, if I had fireboy ;) as a personal attendant and I could hear no noise but just the tranquility of the Poly I might consider it? I wonder if I can suggest a 6am to 10am Cabana rental where you can watch the world and the Poly wake up while being pampered. :thumbsup2 Now that sounds relaxing :cloud9:

Good luck with your decision. We'll do lunch next week. Tues or Wed I work. If I decide to go back. They abused ;) me this week so I am resting up this weekend!

So I went and had my eyebrows down yesterday afternoon, kept waking up all night because they stung like crazy.. Wake up look in the mirror.. Im missing skin under one eyebrow!!! Argg!! Been there! Try and get some aloe on it and it helps heal quicker. :thumbsup2

What is the Polynesians phone number ? I have searched every where and cannot seem to find it. I like to leave the phone number at home for family members in case they cannot get our cell phones. I know they probably will be able to reach our cell phone lol, but I always leave the name of the resort and the phone number at home.

Under sixty days now!!!! MNSSHP is FINALLY starting soon! Sorry Mary, I'm nost sure of the Poly's direct phone number.

The number I have is 1-407-824-2000. I have been told that this is really a central call centre (although the person who answers the phone says Polynesian Resort), but I'm sure they can transer a call through to a guest's room like any other hotel.

Sorry, I was thinking 11:00am because thats the time we finally got there! It is 10-2 0r 3-7 or 10-7. I think if not booked they'll let you just book one!;)

It's been so long since I stopped in! Helloooooo Poly Lovers :goodvibes

I've got my Lapu Lapu countdown going on in my head... fancy spork -- a.k.a. grapefruit spoon -- at the ready. C'moooon Disney!

I ordered through CL and they ordered it from room service. It was around $35.00 and it was delivered first night. I also ordered six chocolate covered strawberries and paid around $40.00. They charged it to my room!:thumbsup It was a lovely surprise to come home (Poly) to! :lovestruc

Oh, I went and looked at your piccies too. LOVELY!:lovestruc Thanks for posting them.

I'm curious about this Snack Pack thing. Did you order it when you were there or did you call CL directly beforehand? I'd been asking IPO about getting some champagne and possibly some sparkling cider (for the kiddo) along with some flutes delivered to the room for our anniversary but IPO keeps directing me toward Disney Florists. :confused3 Seems a bit overkill to go via Disney Florist if it's something I can just have room service or private dining or whatever it's called do it. Would love to hear what you think... how you managed it! :goodvibes

Thx!:goodvibes I just emailed IPO (Amanda,Heidi & Craig) in advance and they said they would take care of everything, I let them know it was for kids and just a little candy treat and they gave me suggestions. They said they would be ordering it from Room service and it would be charged to my room. I didn't know the price till it was charged, a little pricey but a wonderful surprise!:woohoo: As far as your anniversary I think its a great idea! When IPO sent one of there hotel ressie emails asking if anything else they could do, I said "YES, blah blah & blah?" and Amanda, Heidi replied back, then Craig finished the plan a few emails later (when I decided what to get) When I checked in CL, I just confirmed it with Mary. (CL check in):wizard: Happy Anniversary! :cloud9:

Ahhh. Thanks for the reply and the "Happy Anniversary"! So this was directly with CL then and not the IPO? IPO just didn't seem to want to bother -- and I even asked twice, both giving the same "Disney Florist" reply. :confused3 Could you PM me their email address, if you don't mind? I'd love to do a "little something special" in celebration. The only email address I have is the generic IPO one.

No, Sorry for the confusion, it was IPO, I'm looking at it now. Also Amanda helped me (ask for her) as well, here is part of the email:
