What happens on last day of segmented reservation?

I just had MS segment our Dec. reservation to accommodate 2 days of DxDDP in the middle of our trip. I know we have to check in & check out to get new keys. My question is what happens on the last day? We're adding the plan for 12/23 & 24. I plan to use my credits up until midnight on the 25th. So on the 25th I need to check out & check back in again for the remainder of our stay. Will I have 2 sets of keys for the 25th? One that has DP credits on it & one that is just a room key?

We did. At BLT, they were really nice and gave us the 2nd key a different color so we would not confuse it with the KTTW that held the credits.

Probably. Your keys from the 24th will work for any remaining dining credits until midnight on the 25th. You will likely need new keys to enter your room after 11:00 a.m. On the 25th, but possibly not.

When I was getting new keys for my last segment on a trip last month, my DH was able to still get in on the previous day's keys.

Not to hijack the thread (I'm sure my friend horselover won't mind! ;)), does anyone know how segmenting affects the housekeeping schedule? Is day 4 still day 4, or will the days reset each time a new segment starts? Thanks!

Hello my friend! :wave2: Hopefully one of the experts will come along & give you an answer.

I had four segments, and housekeeping thought I was checking out each time. I guess I should have just taken the three full cleanings, but I didn't need it and didn't really want the extra traffic, so I called housekeeping. Once I told them I was staying all week, then I had regular trash and towel on day four. ( we were at SSR.)

We just returned from a segmented stay. Day 1-3 was one segment no dining plan. Day 4 was DDxDP. Day 5-6 was the last segment with no plan. We had to get new keys issued for Day 4. That was it. They worked for the remainder of our stay.
our housekeeping was not affected either.

Thank you for the replies. I'm still debating whether or not to segment. I'm afraid of snafus and of spending too much time at the check in counter. We would have 3 segments over a 6 night stay: Nights 1&2 regular DDP, nights 3-5 Deluxe DDP, and last night no DDP. The nights with the Deluxe DDP would span Christmas Eve and Day. We're staying at BLT, if that makes a difference. Someone tell me what to do!

for us, segmenting meant an extra 20 minutes at check in for our middle segment. We never had to check in or get new keys for the 3rd segment. It was totally worth it.

Can I just ask - I am looking to book 2 rooms using my points(for us and our friends) and i want to add the DXDP for 1 night mid trip as a surprise (so that we pay for the character meals we are doing as a treat!!;)) and wondered whether everyone needs to be there?

I assume I will need all of their room keys but does one of them need to come with me to do this? I want them to have a hassle free trip and just trying to explain my idea to my DH (who lets me deal with all the Disney planning) was hard enough:goodvibes without asking them to come to the front desk and explain why (plus it ruins the surprise somewhat!)- So I wanted to try and sort it myself if possible!!:thumbsup2

Many thanks for any info!!
