We just got back from our trip on Sunday. We have stayed at the ASMu, ASMo, CBR, and CR before. CBR is our favorite but because my daughter and her 22 month old were getting thier own room and that's all she could afford we did a value. We decided to go a day early so we stayed at CBR just to show her what that was like. Had a wonderful room there. Martinque 26 1st floor. Then we went to POP. Paid for a preferred room and got exactly what I requested NOT to get. Building 1 4th floor facing trees. I put in my request that that was the last building I wanted to be in. (should of paid for a standard). Our water in the sink never had hot water. Beds were terrible. All 6 of us woke up everyday with sore backs. When you sat on the bed you sank in and there is like a hard cord going around the bed. My daughter got a bedrail for her son and it was terrible. Big bar that went across the bed. We had to put pillows across it so he wouldnt smack into it. Had one at CBR and it was totally different. The elevators are HOT. Washer and dryers were bad. Went to wash one load and took us 3 hours. 6 out 12 dryers didnt work- one worked but didnt dry the clothes. 2 washers were down. We and others went to a different laundermat and the change machine didnt work there. People complained but nothing was done. Food court was not good. By the time we paid for our food and got a table our food was cold. My hamburger was cold-dry and hard. Ate 1/4 of it and threw it away. Buses were terrible. At Hollywood Studios one night our line went past 2 other resorts line. (ours was the only one like that). Everyone clapped when they finally came. Some waits were 30 miutes. One time we were taken to Hollywood Studios and we were suppose to be going to Downtown Disney. I've stayed value before but never will again at POP. grounds were nice- housekeeping was good but it was not for us. Disappointing.:sad1:

We stayed at Pop last January, but didn't have trouble with buses at all. I suppose it was off season, so things were running more smoothly. My biggest complaint with POP is the noise from the pools carry to the rooms not even directly facing the pool. I would never stay there again, unless we got a room facing away from the pools. People and their children are out swimming and yelling until at least 11 PM. We've done AKL and CSR with no issues with noise.

Now see, I hear that things run smoother when it's peak season, but off season. I just don't like values. Stayed once and that was enough for me. Call me the princess and the pea, but I can't help it!

We loved the themeing of Pop. Its really cute. But we thought it was just too "busy". We are trying CBR next time.
It really stinks when you have a bad resort experience. We had some issues with POFQ this last time, and it really put a damper on the trip.

Awww. I hate that you had such a bad time at POP. So many people like it.

I didn't care for it either. The beds made my back hurt too! I didn't do laundry that trip. Thank goodness!

I have to agree with you about the food court. My experience there was like yours, food not good, by the time you got it, it was cold. And kids running through the food court nearly knocking into me while I'm trying to carry a tray of food was not fun at all!

Did you call maintenance about the hot water issue? I can't stand not having hot water when I want it! Yes, I'm a nearly 50 year old snowflake. :rotfl:

I hated Pop and had many of the same complaints, including the bed being uncomfortable. We're doing CBR this trip and since you just recently stayed there, how are the beds?

Sorry to hear you had problems at Pop. If I stayed at a value again, this would be my first pick. We have always had good luck there. However, POFQ has won my heart, and I don't think I will ever stay anywhere else.

Your experience was the exact opposite of ours. We had plenty of hot water, the beds were sooooo comfortable, our location facing the lake was perfect. It was so peaceful and quiet, it was hard to believe we were there during a peak time (spring break). As far as the food court, we ate there several times because it wasn't very busy and we loved the food. We ate breakfast there one morning and didn't have any issues with crowds at all.

I can't comment on the laundry, I didn't have to do any while there.

I'm sorry your stay at POP was not more magical. We always stay at the Coronado (although this year we are doing two DVC resorts) since our one and only stay for three nights at a value and I asked to be switched because I could not stand the crowds, the beds, the noise and the food. I hope the rest of your trip was good.

I wanted ASMo but CM talked me into POP, I worry about the noise, how busy it will be, I like the All Star sizes. We go in 2 weeks, allother values sold out to late to make any changes.
I appreciate you sharing your story here

I was there last year and was quite happy for my stay which was brief. We got 4th floor with a parking lot view. It was quiet, clean and the bed was fine and I have a bad back! Magical express picked me up at the airport and off I went. I was checked in, room ready, dropped off luggage and was in the parks from 90 min. of arrival time! Sorry you had a bad experience. Our family have been to many of the hotels but truthfully we love our camper the most...home away from home. My DGD begged to go to the camper when staying at AKL with a Savannah View! I had gotten it just for her...so now we will only stay at Fort Wilderness!!!

Sorry to hear you had so many troubles at POP. It is one of our favorites! I think we like the busy pace and it is so colorful, it really makes you feel you are at Disney.

Even though I like it, we once had a bad experience. We were napping with the do not disturb in the door and they came in anyway to test the fire alarm! I didn't have pants on so I could not get out of bed, even though I wanted to slam the door on them! I was furious! The front desk did not do anything about it.

One bad experience, but the next few were great! We found the cast members there to be really friendly and nice.

Sorry you had these problems we have stayed at POP several times and bus service always been best of any Disney resorts as we started out years ago in deluxe and then moderates and then all the values and POP has been the best.:confused3 Need to write guest relations on this and be sure and have all names of cast members you complained to as that will help and the manager on duty name as well. can get guest relation address from allears.net:worship: we have ate lite breakfast at food court but generally eat at other places and like some breakfast with the characters... we have been 59 times (only 6 being at POP) and altogether never had this many problems.:sad1: beds at POP all fairly new within maybe 6 months to year. liked ground floor at CBR until had the snake in the room TWICE during one trip and then favorite moderate was POR and there had to many bugs... so was ready to change so has been POP until Art of Animation opens and will try it. One thing have never done on vacation is laundry so no idea about how that works as I don't do :laundry: on vacation or make coffee:cheer2: but do write WDW and you will hear from them...:surfweb:

I loved my stay with Pop. This past April we stayed at CBR and we really didn't care for it. It was too large for our family, and next August we are going back to Pop...

This year will be our 3rd year staying at Pop . We have never had any of the problems OP has had either. The only time we really waited on a bus was last year at MK after wishes and the line was awful and had a long wait. As for as the laundry when I went to do laundry I had to wait for a while on a washer and dryer because ALL of them were in use. None of them were broken down though.

I hated Pop and had many of the same complaints, including the bed being uncomfortable. We're doing CBR this trip and since you just recently stayed there, how are the beds?

We stayed at CBR last year and had a newly refurbished room.... the beds were very comfortable!

We didn't have any trouble with the beds. We loved CBR!!!!

Huh? We were there last week and it was perfect!

We were 4th floor 60's bldg. facing the lake. It was VERY quiet. I don't think we every saw a guest walking around on our floor.

I thought the beds were very comfortable.

We never had to wait more than 10 minutes for any bus to or from POP.

Definitely had enough hot water for the four of us to shower each morning.

I did a load of laundry and the washer was 30 min. and the dryer said 30 min. but after 40 minutes, it was still going. Everything washed up fine.

We knew the cafeteria would be busy and only ate there for breakfast.

So sorry it didn't work out for you.

I love Pop Century and have stayed there about six times (also stayed at all moderates and most deluxes plus All Stars so I think I can compare). So far, Pop Century is our favorite. Never really had any problems there. Buses seem fine although on our last trip, we had to wait an entire 20 minutes (maximum Disney time) to get on a bus to go to a park but we got there just as one was pulling off the curb. Coming back was never a problem either. I can't comment on the bed rails but I can say we've never not had hot water.

I will comment that because you love the CBR so much maybe your expectations were set too high? Having a thought about how great something is and then going to something that, in your mind is a lessor option, can really mess with your head. It's like going from Disney World to Six Flags in one day when you've never been to Six Flags. Ain't going to get what you had before but Six Flags has its fans.

First of all, I think I was in that line waiting for a bus at Hollywood Studios!!! it was terrible. Was it Thursday night the 25th?? :rotfl:
By the time the bus came (after every other resort had 2 or 3 buses to our 1) there came 2 scooters to load that took FOREVER!!!!!

I must say, having stayed at CBR last year, we actually preferred POP over it. We didn't like CBR...we felt it was too much like a condo complex. We have young kids and they enjoyed the theming much better. We never had any other issues with the bus other than that 1 night at HS. The food court was crowded, but I thought it was manageable. We only grabbed snacks there and ate breakfast a couple times there though.

We did laundry too near our room and it worked fine....Our room was in building 8...VERY far from Classic Hall and the walk was a pain just to fill our mugs, but it was good excercise. :rotfl2:
Lastly, our beds did jot bother our backs and we had a good night sleep each night.
