Construction walls at GF pics

I am at Disney now, and a few weeks ago someone had asked about current pics of area at Grand Floridian that has construction walls around it. I got some from the monorail and at dinner so I will post them

Thanks for posting the pictures. Anything going on, besides the wall being up? Any sort of "real" construction yet?

The walls are a great start! I sure hope they would build something in a different design other than the usual boxes. We really do like the lay out of OKW and the extra room. But I am sure because of cost they will do what is cost effective and build the boxes.

well, the spa is closed for 18 months, so in a round about way I asked about construction on DVC...that is why the spa has closed! I was bummed, because I wanted to spa in Oct!

I think this is so great of them to build this, esp if completion is summer of 2013...it will be our 10 yr anniv and this is where we stayed when we got married...and now that we are DVC, will work out great! Glad they got my memo! LOL

I feel like the construction walls are a little close to the wedding chapel, if I was getting married at Disney soon I'd probably be a nervous wreck thinking those things might be in the background

For what it's worth, I spoke to a very nice DVC CM while we were at Disney last week. He let us into BLT so we could look around and even showed us the room there. Anyway, he told me it is the GF DVC they are building. He also told me that over at SSR the BLT models are closed and contruction will be starting soon on the GF DVC models. He also said there should be a small pool added but it wasn't set in stone yet. "They" are still debating if the GF DVC will have it's own monorail stop!

If you read the thread in my above link it states April 2012 is when outside contruction to the building will be done. I am hoping that is when sales will start for us members!!!

I would be too!! Wedding photos with the beautiful GF .....and a crane....

Thanks so much for this info!!!! We havent stayed at GF since 2003, love our DVC and just booked GF for a quick trip in Dec...so DVC GF is exciting for me

The GF is special to us and a GF DVC is very exciting to us too. We couldn't have our wedding there when we married in '97 and it was always a dream of mine. But that dream came true in 2009 when we renewed our vows at the Wedding Pavilion and had a fabulous reception at the GF White Hall room and patio!! The GF is DH's favorite resort and we are already saving our money for another add on!!!

Yes, thank you that was me two years ago!!
DH is the same way, doesn't want to pay for the GF when we have DVC but with that great wedding discount we stayed at the GF for the week of our VR We also visit the GF every trip!! It's just so beautiful and special!

And not many places have my fave wine, Cakebread Chard....Citricos will have someone walk over to Mizners for me to get it, and Narcoosees has it, as well as Crews Cup!

I am looking forward to seeing the construction in December...! Oh and the GF too!
