Just wondered if anyone else has booked the cruise from LA to San francisco etc next September. We would also love some advice on Disneyland, as we have never been there, always go to WDW.

There's a whole forum for Disneyland that's very helpful.

Here's the list of 2012 Wonder cruises so you can see who is signed up for your cruise.

HTH. :goodvibes

Have you checked the Cruise Meets section of the cruise boards to see if there is a thread started for your sailing?
You can also read all about D'land by going over to the D'land boards on here.

We did the Repo cruise from LA to Vancouver in May and LOVED it. We spent 3 nights in Anaheim before the cruise, one of the days at Disneyland--my kids can't wait to go back!

I'm a WDW resident and came back from my first trip to DL in July. I also recommend checking out the Disneyland board, as that's where I got 99% of my tips and info. I just finished my trip report as well, which is linked in my signature.

Have fun! If I had the cash and time (and didn't want to do Alaska first), I'd love to do the Pacific coast itinerary!

We are booked on the 23rd of September. Flying in from New Zealand for it. If you are on the cruise we'd love you to join the cruise meet! :goodvibes

My DH and I are booked for the Sept. 30 cruise. We live in Florida and have done all of the Disney ship on the east coast and are ready to try the west coast. Because of my work we won't have any extra days, but are excited to see the west coast. Never been there before.

We are on the sailing for Sept 30th Pacific too and looking forward to our couple of days in San Fran along with a visit to Disneyland.

We have been to Fla many times and in fact, will be arriving on 24th Sept after a Disney Magic Transatlantic from Barcelona.

I hope someone starts a thread for our Pacific cruise date as I see there are only ones either side at the moment.

Our best DL advice is to eat at Cafe Orleans at least once. We loved the pomme frittes, gumbo and Mickey beignets so much we ate there twice, before and after our last cruise.:yay:

You'll find a lot more info on the Disneyland board.

My personal opinions.....

Fantasmic is significantly better at DL than WDW so I would be sure to watch that. The problem is that there isn't theater type seating so you need to find your spot on the ground (similar to a parade) early. Again, the DL boards will have a lot on strategies for viewing Fantasmic.

There are certain rides that are different at DL than WDW - Space Mtn, Splash Mtn, Small World, Tiki Room, etc. (Small World is better at DL, Spash Mtn is better at WDW). If you know WDW well and want to compare the differences, you might want to hit those rides.

Matterhorn doesn't have a fast pass so go on that early. The same goes for Dumbo -- It is one of the longest/slowest lines in the park. Also, some rides have more scenic lines (ex. Indiana Jones) than others (ex. Small World). If you are interested in the line setting the ambiance for the ride, you might want hit Indy early and wait in line rather than use a fast pass.

Star Tours was recently renovated at DL. I'm not sure if it was at WDW too.

I'm sure other things will pop up but a lot depends on if you have kids, what their ages are, how much time you have and what type of experience you want. Your best bet is checking the Disneyland and DCA boards.
