$99 HP Touchpad

double post

are you talking touchpads?

anyway one of my local best buys has them in stock however the trick is they want you to buy an airtime card and then you get the voucher for the touchpad, good thing is if you do it, the 16gb is free and 32gb is $49.....not kool!!

I am very impressed B&N is sending a $20 gift card for the inconvenience!:cool1: That to me is really great customer service! I just printed mine out! Be sure and read the whole email to get the codes!

well by playing with the HP status check.. and changing my password a few times.. I managed to get into the status update where you enter with your email and password. My password was correct, because I was able to get in to change it each time, but I could not get in to check the status.. then finally boom.. I got in.. this is what I got..every thing you see in bold, I have placed in there.. all else if from HP....

*when I click on the line item detail it shows they are on back order.. and doesn't give an estimated date of arrival either. I am still on hold with HP, my current wait on hold is now over 92 minutes.. they will be closing in less than 20 minutes..

QUOTE=Vacation Lover;42389176]For anyone looking for the wireless charging docks, my Wal Mart had them today at the regular price ($79.99) but they were price matching to Best Buy. The sales associate called our local BB for the price ($39.99) and they honored that.

I tried to get Walmart to match their own website price of $35.00 yesterday, but they would not budge off the $79.99. :confused3
So, I went to BB and bought one for $39.99.[/QUOTE]

Walmarts store and web prices usually differ and they do not price match. Their overhead with web orders is much less, it costs more to run a brick and mortar store.

Don't know why that didn't quote right, but only the last 2 sentences are mine.

So after being on hold for ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTEEN MINUTES (yes, you read that correctly), it is now officially past HP's business hours and a recording came on and said, "please hold while your call is now being re-routed". Then it clicked 3 times and went to a very fast busy signal. :headache: I am livid! That is not what I would call customer service. That is what I call BS (if this were not the Dis Boards) I would be spelling out those words

I do not understand how some of you are getting thru to them, what time are you making your calls at? I am so totally sick of this at this point. The least they could do is answer their damn phone! 118 minutes is 2 minutes shy of 2 hours.. even lines at the theme parks are better than that.. at least if that ride goes down, you get a FP to return later.. I got nothing.. 2 hours of my night is shot to HE!! right now.. I am heading off to get my dogs out for the night.. see you all tomorrow...

I originally ordered from HP on Sunday morning... On Sunday at 7 P.M. my order mysteriously disappeared. I ordered on by telephone @ MAcMall .. received a confirmation...... order cancelled. All I wanted was (1) 32 GB touchpad
Now I receive this email from HP.
"Thank you for your interest in purchasing the HP TouchPad. I am sorry for any inconvenience, and I understand that you would like to check the status of your order. I would be happy to assist you on this matter. However, I do require some more information to do so. If you could reply to this email with the account verification details, such as the full name, billing address and phone number that registered on the account, we would be more than happy to update your profile for you. Please understand that this is for the security and privacy of your account. I can understand being upset with HP but I would look into Kodak printers very carefully before jumping the gun and doing a trade in. The print quality is not very good on Kodak printers. Also despite them saying ink is cheaper it really is not in the long run as the cartridges themselves are smaller and the ink is not as good of a quality either.

And the charge still has not been credited back to my account.
And my order with HP shows as "no order found".:sad1:

I guess I was just not meant to have one LOL:sad2:

Good luck to everyone!!!:flower3:
make sure you are checking the small business site if you ordered there

exactly just a gimmick to get them extra money for ordering and activating stuff. i dont get it, maybe it can if you plug it into the usb port? i dont get it, i thought it was a lousy thing to do.

I was canceled by barnes & noble and didn't get the coupon either... Darn, I could have used it for something else I probably didn't need...;)

Best Buy has lighting fast shipping. I got home today and my HP Touchpad was sitting on the porch. Now to try and compare to my iPad or DD8's Nook Color.

I am so totally sick of this at this point. The least they could do is answer their damn phone!

I'm not sure what you hope to accomplish by calling. You have a confirmation email, you didn't get the cancellation email, and your order shows up in the system. You are in the same boat as everyone else, calling only slows everything down.

The HP twitter site is begging people to stop calling the call centers. At this point all they can tell you is exactly what you already seem to know.

The status site that you login to using your email and password is useless. No information has changed since day 1. As you pointed out it fails to list shipping charges so the price doesn't add up. Plus those shipping charges will eventually be removed, so the price is wrong anyway. Just don't use it.

The only order site that is even slightly useful is this one: https://h20497.www2.hp.com/os/public.tcl

Use your order number from the confirmation email in the web order line, enter your order date. Use that information only. And yes, half the time it says your order wasn't found. At least that site has updated itself with shipping times, which as others have found out isn't being updated for everyone.

In short, if you have a confirmation email and no cancel email, just sit tight. Everyone else has that too.

Those who ordered at HP and your status is in admin:

I talked to an associate and they stated that they just don't have enough personnel to package all the orders. The touchpads are in the warehouse, but it is slow going. Oh he also told me at the end of this all their phones are going to have to be replaced and that they are getting a LOT of o/t. ;) So, apparantly, admin status means you will be getting your order... someday. :P

Thank you for posting this. This is exactly what I was thinking. With most businesses operating at the bare minimum staff to get the job done these days, to suddenly have 1000x your normal workload, it's simply overwhelming. Probably more like 1 million times. I'm not defending HP but just trying to see it from their employees POV. I work in a large hospital x-ray dept and equate their scene to us have to activate our disaster plan due to some catastrophic event with massive #s of trauma patients entering our ER.:scared1: I know we would be overwhelmed & not equipped to handle it. :sad2:

Really, management should have expected a huge response & been a little more prepared. IMHO, it's the poor communication that is so frustrating to people. After a long day at work, who wants to spend most of the evening reading here to try to figure out the status of our internet order is? or spending hours on hold? If someone could email me and say, "Your touchpads are on backorder & should arrive by Oct 15." I'd be fine with that.
I'm excited but it's not urgent that I have it right now. This ain't a blood transfusion we're talking about; it's a toy for my kids.
At least I'd know my order isn't lost, cancelled, etc & that I'll have my order eventually. By Christmas would be nice. :thumbsup2

You started this thread and let everyone know about this fire sale. I just hope HP doesn't lose or drop your order. Everyone that got at touchpad because of your post should be thanking you.
